Beep did not work. Emailed manufacturer and their reply was that the beep is not very loud. Made me feel like they were implying I was hard of hearing, which I am not. This is their reply. " We will be happy to assist you with your thermometer. The beep that is made by this unit is in a high frequency and to some, this beep can be difficult to hear. The beep is an added feature of the thermometer and does not affect the function of the thermometer. If you are able turn your thermometer on and take a temperature, then your thermometer is functioning properly, and you may substitute a timed reading for the beep feedback. We recommend checking the reading after approximately 4-7 seconds." Seriously?

Paid ÂŁ38 (a lot of money for a thermometer) and it has a different reading every 30 seconds. Readings every 30 seconds are miles apart! Incredibly inaccurate, especially for the price. Taking back to Tesco today. Disappointed. Especially since they are designed for sick children. Joke!

Fast and accurate. Useful for identifying fever. Not uncomfortable to use in-ear. Comes with a number of plastic caps for the earpiece. These could likely be cleaned and sterilised instead of disposing of them for more sustainable use.

But I need not have been, this ear thermometer does exactly what it says, gives you a reading in 1 second. This is the cheapest in the Braun range of tympanic thermometers. It is of comfortable size, with most of the features of the more expensive models,but here is where it falls short of the more expensive ones: Uses a CR2032 button cell battery, which will have a fairly short number of cycles, and are not readily available unless you place an eBay order for a spare half-dozen when you order spare hats. The cover is more fiddly. No holster/carry case which normally holds the hats. Don't get me wrong- this model is great for home use as part of a domestic vital signs kit. Not good for a health care professional.
Bought this two days ago and shows two different readings for two Hears with 1-2 degrees differences. It also shows completely a different value from my practice tympanic thermometers with a huge difference of 2-3 degrees. Something is wrong with this thermometer as I am sure the value does not correlate with the body temperature and the other readings from the other tympanic thermometers. Very disappointed by my purchase and I hope to receive a refund.
Ever have to check your kids temp at night? with this Thermometer it will beep to let you know if its a reg temp or beep beep if its slightly high or 3 beeps if it is really high! yes it will tell you on the lcd, but the convenience of not having to cut on a light unless it is really high... ugh... i Just love it! to me it is the upgrade i never knew i needed!
