Braun IRT6020 Thermoscan 5 Ear Thermometer

My kiddos are sick frequently, and run random fevers. I have compared this thermometer to rectal temps (most accurate depiction of core temperature), and this does a great job and seems to match core temperatures. As a nurse, I find this to be such a blessing.

I had this product with my first baby, it was very accurate at the beginning at a certain point. It is very comfortable to use where you only have to touch the skin durable and seems to catch the temp at a fast speed. Cleaning was easy as well.

I think this is a great thermometer but getting your child to sit still while using is the problem. I usually try to take the temperature three times to make sure it is correct. I like that it has replaceable ear tips. You definitely want a good thermometer in your household because you never know when you’ll need it and you’ll want it to be correct. Gets the job done quickly. Nice design, comfortable to hold. I would give 5 stars however after reading many reviews that questioned the reliability and consistency of temperature readings I began to question the display when I was taking my daughters temperature a day after her vaccinations, and even though she was feverish and burning up, the thermometer claimed she is at a normal temperature. I also tried it at a later date when she was back in full health and according to the thermometer she had a fever. I still use it but I don’t don’t know whether I can fully trust it. Other times though, it seems to get it right. Sometimes I double check using a different one. But that defeats the purpose of forking out £30 for a good reliable thermometer

I had a no touch thermometer for my baby but I questioned it’s accuracy so we bought this ear thermometer. I have never been so happy. It’s so nice that we can use it on the entire family by simply selecting the age of the person who needs their temperature checked. You can use it on an infant, toddler or adult which I trying improves the accuracy. So far it has been amazing for my toddler that seems to always be running a temperature. The color indicator keeps my child intrigued long enough that he stays still for me to take his temperature. The reading is very fast too; only takes a few seconds to get the results. I was also happy that it came with a pack of covers for the end so we didn’t have to buy them separately.

This was given to me from someone who got two at their baby shower! We have had this thermometer for about 4.5 years. It has survived through so much of my sons abuse 😂😭 He has taken it apart and lost all of the pieces a ton of times and it has still always worked. I don’t recommend letting your littles bully you into playing with the expensive thermometer Buuuut these can handle a lot! Worth buying. I’m not sure I will re buy this one but for the price, these are great and work so well. Stays working for a long time! Will use until it no longer works. #thermometer #momlife #medicalsupplies

Amazing thermometer

I love this thermometer. You can keep an eye on temperature and temperature change as it keeps a record of the last several readings. It has age precision which is really useful for young children. ive found the ambulance crew locally tend to use the same thermometers which really reassures me. It is hygienic for all the family as you can change the little ear caps before use. I find them much more accurate than forehead and in mouth thermometers. They are very easy to use. I would recommend to anyone especially thoose with young children.

Easy to use

Lovely family thermometer which is easy to use and read.The product is well made and feels nice in your hand. You pop a cover over the end and then pop in ear to take temperature. You press the button and it will beep when it has taken temperature.There are 3 different settings which is great as it does different ages, particularly useful with babies and toddlers.The cap are easy to pop on and off but won't become dislodged when using device.Perfect for all households medicine cabinets.

What a great purchase to have while we are going through this current climate. Its quick, compact, hygienic, easy to clean and store and extremely accurate. It is my go to as soon as there is a whiff of a sniffle in my house. So glad I have one. Makes life so much easier when 'guesstimating' mine/my children's temperatures. Every household should have one.

Why such a large screen that blinds you???

The light on this large screen is so strong that it’s is blinding and it makes it impossible to use unless it’s day or you have a light on. You also can’t see how you position in the ear (apparently you need to be in a certain angle towards the temple) so it’s hard to get an accurate measurement and it varies even when measured seconds apart. I wish I could return it as it’s really bad!Had the old model with the screen on the bottom and it was amazing. Lasted years and it’s was quick and efficient especially when used on sleeping children. Bring back the old model please!
