I have been using this shaver over a year and all the time I've been quite disappointed. Before this I had Braun series 7 shaver (with similar cleaning station) and I was very happy with that one as it didn't irritate my skin at all - but this 8 series shaver does. It's pulling and tugging - in order to prevent that I need to "pre-shave" very carefully with the trimming head - if any hair more than 1-2 mm long is left, shaving is a very bad experience. I was expecting that more expensive 8 series would be better than 7 series, not worse. The reason I had to stop using my 7 series and buy this was that the trimmer part totally broke down in my 7 series shaver, it was quite old already.Wet shaving helps but I don't really like that - never did wet shaving with my 7 ... MoreI have been using this shaver over a year and all the time I've been quite disappointed. Very disappointed overall. They advertise fast, efficient, close shave. This was not the case for me. I tried multiple combinations (dry, water, cream) without too much success. With cream was probably the best, but I found myself going over the same spot over and over again to cut the hair. And I found myself going to the manual shave to finish things off. For this price point surely it has to be better. Looks stylish, but effectiveness, well below par.

My old rotary shaver from a different brand bit the dust and, since I'd had trouble finding spare parts for the model I had, I decided it was time to try something new. The new shavers from that other brand don't have an all-in-one clean and charge station like the old ones did and that was an important feature for me.I went to the store and looked at the shavers they had and saw this kit with a shaver (with built-in trimmer!!), a clean and charge base, and a schmancy travel case that tops up the shaver's battery. I wasn't sure how I'd like using a foil shaver vs a rotary shaver, but what could it hurt?I let it charge up and gave it a go on a 5-day beard. Then I docked it back in the base and hit the clean button. To my surprise, it even blow dried the shaver once the clean cycle was complete! A marked improvement over my old shaver since it'd be damp up to 36 hours after running a clean cycle!

After hating electric shavers most of my now long life I have found one that truly works for me. The braun series 8 gives me a superb shave that lasts for 24 hours. No burned, scraped, skin. No rough patches where the razor failed to cut. Even can cut longer hair much better than any other I have used. The beard trimmer works well around the nose and mouth but it is somewhat awkward to use. Having gotten use to it, I think the series 8 is a 5 star electric razor. I am using the cleaning-lubricating system that came with it. That too is exceptional in performance. All of it works for me.
The Braun Series 8 razor is a really nice electric razor. However it might be too advanced for me. I'm thinking I bit off more than I can chew. I did manage to get it up and running eventually but it took me some time. I'm only 40 and pretty tech savvy but this had me stumped at first. It's probably just me but once you get past that, this razor is pretty self sufficient. It cleans, lubricates, dries, and charges itself. I am not sure how long the cleaning cartridge lasts, but I've used it for almost a month every day and still slightly above half the solution remains. Also, there is an indication light to warn you that the solution is low. The razor comes with a durable case, power cord, and cleaning/charging station. Although I don't use it, there is a long hair trimmer on the back side. Can be used cordless in the shower or bath but I'm too afraid to risk it. Probably the most important feature is the close shave. Not nicks to speak of and I don't have to clean it after I'm done. I don't need all the extra bells and whistles but others may appreciate them. Bottom line is that this razor shaves and shaves well. Best electric razor I've owned by far.
Right out the box I was blown away! The first thing you find is that amazing charging case. It looks like it’s out of a futuristic movie set on the planet Mars. Feels great in the hand with a sueded texture If you are lucky enough to get the charging case. You can rest asure that your shaver will always be charged and safe from damage. The Series 8 shaver by far has been the best shaver I’ve ever used. Leaves a nice, clean, smooth finish with one pass. I used it dry and not yet in the shower. I did use it on my fade line on the back of my head and I did find some discomfort with razor burn while leaving my head baby smooth. I will definitely use it every time now. I would recommend this Bruan series 8 to everyone who has to shave. I understand that the charging case ... MoreRight out the box I was blown away! I understand that the charging case does not come in all packaging, but if you have the choice to get the charging case I would highly recommend it. With that said the Series 8 holds an incredible 60 minute run time. Not sure but I think Big Foot can get it done in 1 hour. 🤣
My face certainly welcomed the advanced technology that this Braun Series 8 8467 cc Electric Shaver provided. The crosscutting actions are particular helpful in gliding over and smoothly catching my neck hair which always manages to grow in multiple directions and was of a particularly issue in the past. The smooth foil prevents skin irritation in the sensitive areas of my face. I love the fact that this shaver is 100% waterproof, so that I can use it when I am in a pinch for time and can utilize it in the shower, or if I am really in a pinch, I can utilize it for a quick dry shave. The autosensing technology allows the shaver to detect the denser and thicker beard areas of my face for a closer shave throughout. The superior Optifoil gives me the closest shave ever ... MoreMy face certainly welcomed the advanced technology that this Braun Series 8 8467 cc Electric Shaver provided. The 5-minute quick charge feature has really helped me out of a bind on more than a few occasions when I've had to utilize it, very efficient and effective charge. This Braun shaver is undeniably the next level up.
I received a Braun Shaver as a gift when I was a young man. At the time I didnt realize how good it truly was even after years of faithful service. Now having gone through the gamut of manufacturers and models I find myself right back where I started. Braun quality has ever been top notch and the series 8 stays that course. Fine tuned close and accurate shaves with no stuttering or pulling or even the hint of a misstep. The cleaning station with built in charging tabs is very user friendly and forgiving for those on the go who tend to drop the razor into the port willy nilly. The series 8 uses the same cleaning cartridges as I remember from units past so finding replacements should be no issue whatsoever. This model is everything I expect and a good bit more. I haven't changed my electric razor in years -- which is partially due to personal finances but also because I didn't know what I didn't know. I never had a "clean" shave but I was always just OK with what I had. I'm a little older now, finances in order and I can splurge a little on nice things. I am really amazed by how much the technology in an electric shaver has gotten. Auto cleaning features, led display with time left warnings, multiple charging options, multiple shaving options. This Braun shaver is amazing! I like the slim profile but also having the ability to unlock the shaving head so that is contours to the shape of your chin and neck. I'm getting a close shave every time and feel refreshed with a CLEAN razor after it gets cleaned in the dock. Wow! Braun Series 8 is a game changer in shaving. It’s so easy to use and very powerful & comfortable. Li-Ion battery that lasts upto 60 mins of use. I don’t have to charge everyday. I have thick beard & my face is thin and it’s very gentle on my skin. I usually shave every alternate days or once in 3 days, so a perfect fit to me. It can cut or shave on my under chin areas where it’s bit tricky as it’s kind of bone & less muscles. Loved it has 40* swiveling head that adapts my face curves. Sometimes I grow more facial hair which I usually trim with a trimmer. In this case, it comes with Trimmer too, using which I can trim long facial hairs before close shave. Cleaning is very easy. 100% waterproof. I can use while shower with my shaving gel which is Awesome addition. ... MoreBraun Series 8 is a game changer in shaving.
