Braun Series x XT5200 Foil Shaver Trimmer Black, Metallic

Been using this for a few months now. I’m just going to list my pros and cons.Pros- Nice build quality- Can take you down to a clean shave- Varied length attachments work well- Replaceable head for longevity of effective useCons- Swivel head actually makes it more difficult to use- Really quite slow at doing what you want, takes multiple passes over the same area to get the job done.- Impossible to make a sharp cut to your sideburns, or trim your moustache off your lip, etc. I think due to the swivel head.Tip for use - works best after a shower when your facial hairs are soft.

A man’s best friend…Perfect shave and manscaping!

What an incredible machine! My previous grooming tools gave mixed results so wasn’t expecting much but this is fantastic! Great price, precision facial trimming through the smooth single blade and body hair trimming to preferred length thanks to the many attachments. Well designed, long lasting battery and a great rubber grip that helps shave with wet hands! Stubble gone, face fresh and no pain or soreness. Compared to other brands, incredible and consistent results. Couldn’t recommend more!

Braun X

I purchased to compare against the Philips One whichI use. Shaving is a little different in action. Not sure how it would compare with a longer stubble, haven't tired yet. I compared by using the Philips One first then swapping to the Braun to see if it was cutting any closer, maybe marginally. No catches or pulling. One comment, the same Braun shaver was $30 more expensive in Singapore, so good value from Shaver Shop!Would I buy another Braun X , yes.

Good all rounder. Compact.

After testing this for a few days I’m pretty happy with it. I bought it to replace my current beard trimmer which was a few years old and a bit bulky for travelling. This cuts pretty well but the biggest advantage it it’s compact size, really like a regular razor with a chunkier handle. Battery life has been good so far but it did unfortunately only come with an EU plug. This is the only disadvantage as I’ll have to use an unsightly adaptor which will be bigger than my old plug. Handy trimmer for the beardless

I tried this Braun shaver for a few days. The shaver has a nice sleek design and the added travel pouch is a bonus. Very easy hand grip. Battery power is good and lasts a long while. It can be a little noisy, but not too bad. It's very good for close shaving, but sadly fails when used for edges of beards/moustaches. The swivel head -while good for beardless faces- can be quite frustrating, as it constantly moves when tryingto get a precise cut. An option to click and hold it in place would have

Ineffective

I thought I was incompetent but my experience matches with the other one start reviews. Instead of trimming it more often catches and tugs on hair painfully. This is whether I try before or after showering. It works slightly better in the 'down' direction but this way is super awkward for most of the face. I have gone over the same spots on my face half a dozen times and still have patchy hair there. It's what I would expect from a cheap product after six months of use, but in this case it was straight out of the box. I'm not sure if this is just some bad batches coming out but literally feel like I just burnt the money I spent on this, it is that useless and annoying.

Love this stylish piece of kit

I have been using this razor for over a week now. my shave is clean and fresh and my skin feels smooth. noticeably less razor burn than ever before. it’s simple and easy to use. easy to change the length of the trim and style the beard. I used it also as a body razor on my thick wiry chest hair and it was easy and smooth. didn’t tangle and was a nice cut comes with a storage pouch and is a nice masculine looking shaver. stylish and also easy to handle. would recommend this to friends

No irritation, quick but not uniform

I bought this a week ago. It fits well in the hand, though a little heavy. I was able to use straight away, even though it suggested it needed a charge first.After first use there were some hairs that hadn’t trimmed to the same length, especially around the moustache. However there was no irritation and the whole shave was quick.The cost of a new head is about 50% the cost of the razor. Therefore using this long-term could be expensive, especially as it should be changed up to every 6 months

Really wish this lived up to the hype

I purchased this after reading all of the good reviews but I should’ve dug deeper. At best it’s an average beard trimmer but it can’t do anything precision like edges or shaping etc and it definitely can’t get anywhere near a close shave even after spending a lot of time on it (time I could’ve spent shaving wet if I’d have had time to spare). As a positive it looks good, it feels good to work with it’s just useless to trim and style a beard or even body hair. I wish I’d bothered to watch some YouTube videos on the XT as they’re certainly a more honest representation of the product. I’m very sceptical about the reviews on here.

Too Weak on thick hair and just tone deaf on style

Got this a few weeks ago and have stupidly used it more then I should have. Firstly the GOOD-feels well made and comfortable in the hand with a decent battery life the comb attachments are good and sturdy which gives you that confidence (false or misguided confidence) that this might be a decent little gadget. Then it's the BAD the machine struggled with my thick and corse beard, it took a number of passes in different directions to see any sort of change to the beard hair length and too add to the frustration the result were bloody and patchy at best, thus consuming more time. Now to the UGLEY if and when you're lucky enough to get past the cuts and bloody patches attempting to shape and style the beard is simply a none starter. The edges of the blade are well simply just not up to the task it is awkward to try to shape the beard especially around the sideburns to the cheeks, I found it difficult to shape around the mustache and down towards the chin area and underneath the lower lips. The shaping and trimming of the neck line also didn't go terribly well. Given the not so good time I've had so for I don't think I will be using this on my body hair nor around the crown jewels! So all in all not the smartest choice I've made especially since the blade will only last around six months if your lucky and have thin hair and use this once or twice a week, and obviously you follow the instructions/hints set out in the manual and this website!
