I did a test with my old Braun in the ear thermometer that I've used for years and the forehead touch and my old one were very close in degrees (maybe slightly off by .02-.04 degrees). the no touch seemed to sometimes fluctuate in degrees by 1 or 2 degrees compared to the other ways. So that can mean the difference between a high temp or a "need to watch" temp. So its not often I use the no touch part but its nice to have with a quick check. I would recommend this thermometer no doubt about it to any mom! It really does make the sick days a little less of a hassle on the temperature taking!

I think this is a great thermometer but getting your child to sit still while using is the problem. I usually try to take the temperature three times to make sure it is correct. I like that it has replaceable ear tips. You definitely want a good thermometer in your household because you never know when you’ll need it and you’ll want it to be correct. Gets the job done quickly. Nice design, comfortable to hold. I would give 5 stars however after reading many reviews that questioned the reliability and consistency of temperature readings I began to question the display when I was taking my daughters temperature a day after her vaccinations, and even though she was feverish and burning up, the thermometer claimed she is at a normal temperature. I also tried it at a later date when she was back in full health and according to the thermometer she had a fever. I still use it but I don’t don’t know whether I can fully trust it. Other times though, it seems to get it right. Sometimes I double check using a different one. But that defeats the purpose of forking out £30 for a good reliable thermometer

I had a no touch thermometer for my baby but I questioned it’s accuracy so we bought this ear thermometer. I have never been so happy. It’s so nice that we can use it on the entire family by simply selecting the age of the person who needs their temperature checked. You can use it on an infant, toddler or adult which I trying improves the accuracy. So far it has been amazing for my toddler that seems to always be running a temperature. The color indicator keeps my child intrigued long enough that he stays still for me to take his temperature. The reading is very fast too; only takes a few seconds to get the results. I was also happy that it came with a pack of covers for the end so we didn’t have to buy them separately.
Husband got this for the family and I love it! Can't imagine getting so excited over a thermometer but it's incredible, easy, and accurate. The refills are pretty pricey but you can get a ton of them (generic) on Amazon and they fit and work perfectly. This thermometer is well worth the cost!
Beep did not work. Emailed manufacturer and their reply was that the beep is not very loud. Made me feel like they were implying I was hard of hearing, which I am not. This is their reply. " We will be happy to assist you with your thermometer. The beep that is made by this unit is in a high frequency and to some, this beep can be difficult to hear. The beep is an added feature of the thermometer and does not affect the function of the thermometer. If you are able turn your thermometer on and take a temperature, then your thermometer is functioning properly, and you may substitute a timed reading for the beep feedback. We recommend checking the reading after approximately 4-7 seconds." Seriously?
Paid £38 (a lot of money for a thermometer) and it has a different reading every 30 seconds. Readings every 30 seconds are miles apart! Incredibly inaccurate, especially for the price. Taking back to Tesco today. Disappointed. Especially since they are designed for sick children. Joke!

Even when I sometimes try to skip the school pretending to be bit of sick side… there wasn’t really way around it. Currently, mercury thermometers are not available anymore as they have been discontinued as being unsafe due to the mercury. But they were very exact. What they really weren’t though is quick. You had to keep still for quite few minutes to get a good read. And if you were a kid you know how hard it was for you… or even more for your mum.Today kids are even less patient. After all ...
