Purchased this item for a friend who finds it hard to eat breakfast due to having throat cancer and my daughter recommend he tried having smoothies. He didn't have anything to make them in and didn't want a blender that you make a smoothie in and then need to transfer it to another item so you can drink it. This machine does it all. You can make the smoothie, even using frozen fruit and once made you just change the lid and drink. It also has a locking lid so you can drink your smoothie on the go. Great for days when your having a day out or hospital appointment. Comes with two bottles and had been used every day since I gave my friend this great blender. So easy to use and clean. 10/10

Used one for months without issues to blend protein, frozen fruit and milk.the plastic on the blade element became damaged and rendered the whole machine beyond repair. I purchased another unit (same but newer model) the bottles are lids are different. You cannot attach an old bottle to the new blade. The machine worked for around 3 days before it again became damaged. Returned for a full refund. if you are blending ice or frozen fruit it's good enough and the parts are too brittle. For fresh fruit and liquid you won't have any issues.

i wrote a review yesterday just on the bottle. My lid snapped after using about 6 times. After i wrote the review my Mrs suggested i was just a heavy handed. With that she snapped hers. We bought this family version so we have 2 left. Can’t find any replacements. Don’t know if i have a bad batch but the lip is quite big and the lid plastic is quite brittle so don’t know if it’s a design flaw. The old ones where better.

The blender states it crushes ice so frozen fruit should be an absolute breeze, unfortunately it really struggled with making frozen fruit smoothies.At one point the base started to smell like burning and still left my smoothie lumpy.Breville tend to be super reliable but this time not so much.The only bonus is its nice and compact so can easily be popped in a cupboard.The bottles are OK, not great and I certainly wouldn't recommend putting them in a bag, they leak at times.Bottles can be used in a dishwasher safely if you can get the blender working properly.Maybe I just got a faulty machine?I'll keep it for light blending work when I don't want to get out the food processor. But if you want nice iced smoothies , spend a bit more for a better one.
This is such a great little blender for all your blending needs. At the push of a button it blends in no time. I have used this with fresh/frozen fruit, protein powder, ice cream, ice and blends with ease. I love the fact that the blades blend ice as some other blenders don't have the capability to blend ice. This is because this blender is very powerful. There's an easy twist in motion with the bottle in order to blend. And the bottles and blades are so easy to clean. The bottles themselves are very sleek with an easy open cap. I would highly recommend this blender to anyone who wishes to blend stuff on a daily basis

In the guide there is recipes and I decided the first one would be a smoothie drink. I used yogurt, honey, strawberries, blueberries and grapes. You have to put the blade back on the top of the bottle and make sure secure before lining up the arrow with the one on the blender unit. Once pushed down you have to twist to the left until it clicks in.Then you can press the button to blend. You have to hold the button down to blend and it stops as soon as you take it off. Glad I did, my daily banana, vanilla, choc and chia smoothie is delicious taa very much. I freeze ripened bananas chopped into in 2cm chunks and it copes easily with these with just a few blasts, I do take the bottle off halfway and give it a good shake just to make sure it's all mixed evenly. I've also used mixed frozen berries and again in literally a few seconds it's all blended nice and smooth. Dunno what those negative reviewers where up to but I'm an extreme perfectionist and really happy with it so far. Well worth it so far.
This is surprisingly useful. Definitely does the job and having two bottles & tops is really convenient. I've only used it a few times, but its easy to clean - dishwasher safe. Its pretty noisy, but less than other brands I've owned. The only criticism I have is that the motor smells when running. Apparently this it typical of these low-end systems, but I wish they would uprate the motor or fix it some other way. All in all, possibly the best small alternative to a Magimix.One other thing - it would be nice to have a couple of other blades or accessories. But if you're just mixing smoothies or veg/fruit drinks, this will do the job.
