But if you read the reviews of those blankets, you will soon see they are vastly inferior products: "You can feel the wires", "Took two hours to heat up","Died after a year".This is a quality blanket. For a start, it actually works, unlike its cheaper competitors. It heats my bed in 20 minutes, and that's at its lowest setting. My old blanket took at least 40 minutes. Never had one like it before.The bed top part of this product is made of felt like fabric, it is already pilling, which makes it look old. My electric blanket is covered always with a cotton mattress protector and cotton sheet. I have an electric bed and this protector creases heavily in the process of raising my pillow and I have to go back to the bare protector to make my bed properly. We had been using Breville electronic blanket for the past 10 years. It’s one product we can’t live without in Melbourne in Winter! Absolutely loved it! Because of upgrading our bed from Double to Queen, we had to buy a new electronic blanket. This product heats up quickly that’s different from the one that we had used. However, when using it overnight, we have to reset the timer every time, unlike the previous version. And, the manufacturer recommends to set at the lowest temperature when using overnight: 1 on top and 1 below. Sometimes, we feel that the heat isn’t evenly distributed from top to bottom, unlike the previous version.Overall, we had a good online shopping experience.
I always hated sleeping with an electric blanket but this one is totally different. Using it under a mattress protector that, along with the fitted top of the blanket, means the warmth is far more subtly diffused. The different heat settings top to bottom add to the comfort provided.Well designed with the connections not intruding into our sleeping area.The controls are bulky and were, at first, a bit of a pain but I have mounted them on the sides of the bedside tables (using velcro tape) where they are easily accessed and out of the way.Very happy with the product.
It’s such a lovely warmth and the ability to set individual heats on each side of the bed as well as different temperatures for the lower part of the bed and upper part is really excellent. Unfortunately the fitted sheet part of the blanket let’s the rest of it down. It is loose and doesn’t hold the bed tightly, this means that each morning I need to move the electric blanket so the wire doesn’t hang off the side of the bed.This seems like a fairly big oversight, seeing as our bed is a standard Sealy Tate mattress which we also purchased from Myer.
Finally and end to getting into cold sheets, water bottles & heat packs. I turn it on to minimum heat 15 mins before bed and then slide into nice (not cold) warm sheets. The 'sleep' or time off control is great, it means it never gets left on for too long. I wish you could set less than 1 hour time offs, that would be perfect control. It is great to have separate top and bottom controls, sometimes I only want the legs on. I feel the cold and while it's not the middle of winter in QLD, I have found I only ever need lowest level on (this may change as things get colder). Another great benefit is detachable cords in case it needs to be washed. I came across this electric blanket when previous one suddenly died in Winter. I was in desperate need of a replacement and was very impressed with both the quick delivery from Myer and the quality of the blanket. It was easy to set-up and the controls are very user-friendly. I love the warmth the blanket has brought me during the cold Winter nights! You can also set different temperatures for the feet and body areas, as well as on different sides of the bed. The timer and its auto-switch-off function comes in very handy. Also, it comes with a 3 year warranty as an added bonus! Overall, I'm very glad I bought this electric blanket! Though it is a little pricey, it is definitely worth the investment!
It's pretty good but there a few of things which I still haven't gotten used to:1. If you leave it on manual the screens flash blue after several hours... and wakes me up. Annoying. I suppose I'm supposed to use the automatic off feature.2. It's not that obvious how to turn it on / off in the dark. The 'off'' setting is the middle setting which is just weird, and the screen doesn't light up straight away so I've often turned on the light to adjust it which is annoying.3. When you switch if off, the manual setting resets to the minimum heat level. So I need to reset it every night which is annoying. Note that the automatic setting may actually keep the setting. I'll try that. Maybe I should read the instructions.
