This is the WORST microwave I've ever owned. And for the price I paid, that's unacceptable. For starters, we've had it a year now, and within 6 months the soft close door kept jamming, now it doesn't function at all. Same loud thud when you close the door, which is part of why this one was so attractive. Second, even at full power, it is hit or miss when things actually get heated. For instance, this can be 2 frozen sandwiches done separately and consecutively. The first sandwich may still be partially frozen one day, the second fully heated... the next day, vice versa. First sandwich done to perfection, next is still partially frozen. So irritating!! Third, the light stopped working after about 8 months. Do yourself a favor: buy a Panasonic or a brand that is trusted!

Finest compact microwave oven I have purchased. Highly recommend this unit. It is an expensive unit. Suck it up and pay the price, as you won't regret the purchase. A fantastic quality, stainless steel machine.The power output is at least twice that of the LG microwave it replaced. At first, I was burning foods, or boiling over cups of coffee or tea. Settings of 1 minute or less easily cook foods. Melting/warming foods are measured in seconds, not minutes. Time is easily selected with the large circular knob. There are also simple presets "1", "2", etc. that need learned. This is an Australian design, so it does require a learning curve.

I love the design of this microwave. It has been a great unit but unfortunately after 14 months the unit has had both a mechanical and electrical failure. The mechanical failure is one of the two prongs of the interior plastic portion of the door latch broke off (seems like a common problem). The door still functions but without the ability to soft close. The oven now also trips the breaker even when not in use. Simply having it plugged in causes a trip. Appears something has shorted internally. So it's completely dead 2 months after the warranty expired. Really disappointing quality.
I bought this microwave on the 10th of January 2022 and as of 08/18/2022 it no longer works, it beeped once and the lights went out and no longer works. The soft close option has never worked correctly due to what seems to be a misaligned door that catches when you close it and needs assistance to close all the way. As of today I am unhappy with Williams & Sonoma as this is where I purchased it and was just put off to Breville to file a warranty issue. As part of this process so far I find myself wildly unhappy and will not purchase anymore Breville products, it seems that I did not learn my lesson when I purchased coffee grinder that never performed as advertised. Now, let’s talk about that glorious door!! An actual soft close microwave door-woo hoo! 2 weeks in and it still works great. Others have reviewed that theirs stopped working. You do have to give it some momentum for it to catch and soft close, but no slamming required. Even if the self closing portion ever stops working correctly, as long as it doesn’t clunk when it closes, I’ll still love it. And the grand finale-you can turn off all the sounds!! No more annoying, not necessary to be loud beeps! The beep it has is just loud enough, but we will never use it-a silent microwave is the best thing ever!! Have I said enough good things about this microwave? No more teenagers slamming the door at night, no more beeping at 5 am when hubby heats up his breakfast. Life is good again!!

So ordered another one to replace. The new one was loud for some reason (the first one was the quietest I'd ever had and loved it) and the second time I used it, it made a popping noise. Nope... took it back.I contacted Breville re both incidents and it took quite a while for them to get back and they kept asking for numbers that I could not locate on the item. I sent them photos and numbers and they kept asking for info, so not so much for their process of customer service. The microwave shorted the electricity in the whole kitchen and the door clasp broke when we opened it to retrieve the food that was reheating in it when our kitchen lost power.
