Initially this was Almost a dream but although you could change the amount of water dispensed it was obvious that you had to select this before your previous cup finished being dispensed or it would then give the same amount again as it boiled and dispensed the amount sucked up into the boiler. The previous one cup I had used didn't have this function so I had hoped this would be an improvement. The other version had the drip tray as integral to the unit whereas this one it was separate and just hooked on. Sadly this was easily to knock off course if working close to it. The cord was very short so it had to be sited right under the electric socket. After the guarantee expired so did the unit. The on switch failed rendering the unit useless. Very clever piece of machinery, I am already used to it after 2 days. I am 93 and a bit worried with the boiling water from my kettle, that is now not a problem. I use a big mug, so max for the first flow then minimum for the second, fills my mug quickly and perfectly. I drink my tea without milk, and there is a SLIGHT difference in the taste. I did the pre boil routine before making my tea. I like it.

Love my Breville hot cup vkj318.Tried a similar cheaper version of this (from a relative) and thought it was great. Then saw this one in Currys, did lots of research, read lots of reviews. Went for it :)You can lift vessel and fill at sink, no need for jug.Choose amount of water dispensed.Stop quickly if too much.Only heats water being dispensed.Nice blue lightSome reviews didn’t like the selection dial,Can see why but have got used to it and not a problem for meNeed to descale soon and could take a while but think it will be worth the effort. Hasn’t scaled as much as my kettles and we live in a very hard water area.It is on the large side of a kettle, but also not a problem.Wouldn’t go back to a kettle now
