Breville, you really missed the mark. I had to replace my Aroma Style after less than 2 years - the previous model, BCM600. It ceased to function after 20 months of daily use. I ordered the current version. The coffee it makes is perfectly lovely but the machine itself feels flimsy and cheap. The handle and lid of the carafe are of more flexible and thinner plastic than the previous model. It's not comfortable to hold and the edges are a bit sharp. The lid won't open all the way when under the cabinet so I have to carefully move the whole thing before and after filling it. The marks on the reservoir are invisible so if making less than a full pot, you just have to guess. If I can repair the old one, I'll keep this one as backup, but I sure don't like it. 2 stars ... MoreBreville, you really missed the mark. I bought this machine only a few weeks ago, and I found it was marvellous. Lo and behold, I went to brew a jug of coffee this morning, and nothing happened. It was dead. I checked the power lead to the plug, and it is OK. The power point is also OK. To say the very least, I am very disappointed, son I will take it back to the store where I bought it for a warranty claim. I certainly hope I am not going to experience a similar situation where I bought a coffee maker sold by Aldi, when after 3 replacements failed, I gave up. As I said before, this machine is exactly what I wanted, and it was absolutely marvellous till yesterday, and I missed my excellent brew this morning. I still gave it 5 stars.

Not up to the same standard as Brevilles previous model dripalstors. The digital clock isn’t backlit so you can see the time unless you are very close; the cup water level markings are so feint you can’t see then - I had to mark with a black marker; and the most annoying think is that the picture in the ad and on the box the unit is silver with black plastic - the unit is actually silver with ugly grey plastic. I’d already gone a week without a coffee maker so I’m stuck with it - but less than impressed with this product.

I bought this machine 4 months ago, after my previous one [an earlier model] died. This model looks better, is more compact, is much easier to fill and still holds 12 cups [or 4-5 mugs] of coffee. The model comes with a redesigned filter basket and basket holder which I find much easier to clean than the previous model. Overall, I am very happy with this machine, BUT....Here's the but, I find the redesigned filter basket is not as strong as the previous models, as they have done away with some supports on the sides of the basket. This make it look better and probably helps with the brewing, but it had created a weak point where the mesh joins the base of the basket. Good value coffee machine, it's basic but functions as it should and doesn't take up much counter space. You get a better extraction if you start with boiling water. The instructions advise against making less than 4 cups, which is about two of the IKEA mugs. Still trying to find the best beans to use with it, the medium roast I use in my espresso machine don't come out with a strong enough flavour. Probably need a dark roast.

After some use i have both positive and negative points, but some of the negatives may have been rectified in the new model. Positive points are, easy to use and programme, easy to clean, keeps coffee at a good temperature and with some experimenting with different coffee ground quantities and types we are now getting a decent cup of coffee from the first to last cup. Negatives are in relation to this previous model are, small LCD panel which for me is hard to read, no timer backup on power failure and difficult to fill water reservoir. I've just had to bring my 24 year old Phillips drip filter machine out of retirement because my 18 month old Breville Aroma has just died. I'm disappointed, the coffee was great from the Breville and the program options also good, but within six weeks of purchase the spring had broken that controls the flow into the pot and now this morning the whole machine is just dead. We've probably used the machine less than thirty times in the 18 months we've had it. I bought Breville because all the other Breville brand products have stood the test of time. Not this one unfortunately.

I seriously love this little machine, so simple, no pods, capsules, grinding etc, just fill with water, add your grinds in the filter container & press the button. I use the simple program to brew in the morning before I get up. It has an element to keep coffee warm & turns itself off after 2 hours so you don't have to worry about forgetting. I make a full pot monday morning & reheat a cup each morning & lasts the week & still tastes great. I'm fussy & hard to please but would have to say this is probably one of the best purchases I've made over the last 5 years. Highly recommended.
We bought the LCM700BSS Coffee Machine to replace our previous BCM600 Coffee Maker which had worked tirelessly for 5 years. The new machine looked the goods; On the positive the side LCM 700 coffee maker is smaller, easier to fill and dials easier to read. On the negative side I have found that the cup size on the LCM700 machine is smaller than the BCM600 and more liquid seems to be lost to escaping steam. Those problems are simple and can be overcome, but unfortunately the popping and banging noise the new machine makes is very intrusive and not acceptable.
