Breville 'The Bakery Chef Hub' Mixer - Black Truffle

I really like this mixer, it does a great job, lots of power and quality mixing for cakes, slices and dough. Has a light the laminates the bowl.However It is SOOO loud that it almost sounds faulty, in fact I thought it was faulty, until I dug deeper on overseas reviews and videos and found that it is common with this mixer.When I say loud I don't mean the sound of mixing is loud, im taking about the gears/ part that spins. It sounds like it needs some grease on the bearings/ its about to take off.Still does quality mixing though, and im extremely happy with the end result of baking.

Fantastic all round cake mixer

Have used it for making 2 cakes and some dough so far as we have only just received it. Looks great, intuitive controls, love the ability to stop by just pressing the dial. However, After a long period of pausing operation, the dial does need to be turned back to zero to restart it. The attachments seem sturdy and easy to mount on and off. Splash guard fits in easily. The bowl is perfectly sized for a small family. The power range from lowest to highest is perfect despite only having 7 speeds. Light enough to lift off the be bench for wardrobe storage. But looks snazzy enough to leave on the bench as a showpiece. Still awaiting the arrival of the pasta maker free attachment which was part of a Mothers Day promotion.

Fantastic mixer!

An excellent mixer that I highly recommend. The mixing paddle scrapes the bowl well and all features are easy to use. Love the bowl cover that stops splatters and having a light over the bowl makes it much easier to see how the mix is progressing. The inbuilt timer is a great help and having the settings written on the dial makes it very easy. A big improvement over my old hand mixer. Wish Id bought one years ago, absolutely love this machine. Another great Breville product!

Great job mixing, but LOUD and occasional stops.

Used every 2nd day for the 4 weeks since purchase, to date only for mixing sour dough with bread hook every on power 1. This machine was purchased to replace my previous, much loved Breville mixer (which unfortunately was dropped when moving it around the kitchen).The machine is incredibly loud, much louder than my previous machine.The manual say the machine smell only lasts for the first few uses ... waiting for that to go.Also 4 times in the 4 weeks I have owned and used it, the machine has stopped working. It was mixing the dough happily, then it stoped and the top popped up. I investigate, pop it back down and turn it on, and it works fine for the rest of the mixing session. I'm taking it in to ask for investigation under warrantee this month. Has the power to do the job

My old mixer lasted nearly 50 years with a couple of repairs and bowl replacements. With that history and the fact that I liked having 2 different sized bowls, I went with the same brand. It only lasted weeks before a serious problem occurred. The company agreed to replace it without any hesitation but it took months for the replacement to arrive. This unit also developed a (different) serious problem within the warranty period but I decided it was time to switch brands and bought the Breville. Haven’t had it long but very pleased so far. It feels like a proper mixer, not a lightweight’ toy’. Beat up a double batch of shortbread in no time - the task that caused the other machine to haemorrhage. Love to bake so keen to put my Breville through its paces. Looks great too.

Use Once and Throw product?

I have purchased this product just this month (less than 30 days) and used only once when the problem started. There was a burning smell and stopped working after that.To mention , we did NOT overload indeed . We bought this product to make a cake for my daughter birthday and it stopped working exactly on the day we started making it. Very disappointed with the product and never expected this from BREVILLE!! Cheaper products work much better. I am definitely planning to take this to next level based on support from my retailer and Breville.

Used to be a Sunbeam Gal, now switched to Breville

Love my new mixer. It looks great, I have the Damson Blue colour, it looks so stylish, love that the cord can be retracted back into the unit for storage and that it has a light so you can actually see your mixture when mixing. Bit on the noisy side, however, my little hand mixer is pretty loud too. Made my egg whites into meringues like a dream for my mini pavlovas. And I attempted my first recipe making finger buns using yeast to test the dough hook. All over very happy with this product.

I really love my new Breville mixer. I have been reading a lot to research for which one to buy & I am happy that I chose this product. Pro - Affordable - The scraper works beautifully. This is the biggest selling point in my opinion. - I used the dough hook a few times to knead bread, works as expected, no complaint. - Pause function, count up/down timer & the light are nice features - Sturdy & rigid body, really stable, not wobbly - Bowl is big & nice with handle, really handle. - Cost is below $500, which is within my budget- Excellent for beating/mixing for cakes & cookiesCons- Maybe just a bit too noisy than I was expecting, but no big deal.
