Breville makes reliable electrical kettles is a reasonable price range. Their kettles usually last 2-3 years but I always have a “reserve kettle” in the cupboard. This is the first time I’ve purchased it in colour black. It remains to be seen if cleans up well.

Happy with this purchase. It's very lightweight for those of us with arthritis. I like the quiet closing lid. Great value and feels like decent quality. Boiled it twice after unboxing and noticed no weird new kettle taste which is obviously appreciated. The greatest drawcard for us buying this was that our previous kettle by a more expensive brand had a mesh filter that disintegrated and couldn't be replaced. This Breville kettle has a sturdy, metal, well designed filter that looks like it's going to hold up over the years so much better. It boils somewhat quietly - I think we'd all like to find an incredibly quiet kettle when it boils and although this has some slight boil volume to it; it's the quietest kettle we've owned. Definitely recommend.
bought last week & i didn't want to spend $51 on a kettle, but read testimonials, is a Breville, which i have had no dramas with yet & am pleased. the pouring lip doesn't splash water as some others do, the on/off button is nice improvement to the plastic flick switches other kettles have, which would break after usage i figured, the water window is easy to gauge, it's a quiet boil & the slow opening lid is a good feature, so i don't burn myself....i am happy i bought it so far.
This is our second Soft Top electric kettle - we'd had the first one for four years and it was still going strong, but it had the stainless steel finish and, having recently renovated our kitchen, I decided a white kettle would look better. I was very happy to find the Soft Top available in white and didn't hesitate to buy it - like the first one, it's quick to heat up, not too noisy and looks great. It's also very reasonably priced.

Been searching for a good quality non-metal kettle for replacing my old one. And yes I’ve found it. Quick boiling and keep it hot for longer hour. No worry that you will hurt or burn your fingers from touching the kettle.
Great kettle overall, looks nice & not too noisy. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the lid is clear so when you use it you can see the condensation on it. In my opinion that looks messy but I guess that can easily be fixed by giving it a quick wipe.
