My old Breville 4 slice toaster was getting slower to toast. This is normal, as the toasting elements get older. My older Breville toaster was the more expensive automatic toaster.I decided to save some money and buy the four slice toaster that requires a slider to be pushed down to lower the bread and start the toasting process. But it was slower than my old automatic toaster. I should have paid the additional amount for the automatic one.

Toasts really well and evenly. Features are great especially the button for a little more. Toasts for an extra 30 secs without having to change settings. Only fault is the high lift function. Doesn’t really lift that high. It’s fine for normal bread but anything like crumpets or vogels is a bit of an issue. Bought to match kettle which is amazing.

We bought this two weeks ago. Colour is perfect for new kitchen and didn’t expect any problems with a Breville product. This toaster doesn’t toast properly! By the time it is brown the bread is so tough it’s like a rusk. We have tried different settings but nothing works. Our $15 kambrook toaster from our caravan does a much better toasting job. So disappointed with this purchase and it needs to be fixed or replacement offered. Does a 2 slice toaster work better, can I get one and the same colour. I would like to hear from a Breville rep on how they intend to rectify what is obviously a large fault in this toaster !

This toaster is a replacement for a 10 year old Sunbeam, ours seems to toast fine, will just need some time to get used to the different toast level settings compared to our old one. However, the lift & look function is absolutely useless for anything other than full sized bread, crumpets (in particular round) and breakfast muffins absolutely useless let alone trying to get them out of the toaster once they are done. Picture sticking your fingers into a hot toaster to fish them out.

Even pushing the frozen setting, and full turn to max 5 mins, it still takes another 5 mins toasting. Normal white toast takes the full 5 mins sometimes more. There is also a function that lifts the toasted item up so you can grab it, which in our other toaster was fantastic for muffin splits and crumpets, this function on this toaster isn’t suitable for this you still need a knife to get them out or burn your fingers. Nice looking toaster but it doesn't do its job properly. Took it back to Target and the sales lady said they need to be "burnt in" while nothing is in the toaster. I continued to do this at home but it still isn't toasting very well even on the highest setting. Maybe it will get better with more use but we have had it a few months now. Cant be bothered to take it back again.
We thought if we purchased a higher priced toaster we would get one that toasted evenly. This doesn't!! It toasts the middle on one side and almost nothing on the other so we have to flip and turn to cook both sides. Very inconvenient because you then have to watch so it doesn't burn. Waste of money
I have had this toaster for less than 6 months after previously having a Breville toaster for years, that we were very happy with. No comparison….this toaster takes forever to toast and even then the toast is barely browned no matter how much you up the setting. Extremely disappointed as not a cheap toaster either. I am now going to look at purchasing a new toaster and ditching this one and no surprises here it will not be a Breville toaster…
I purchased this purely for the colour. I am still getting used to the toast settings, it can be quite hard to get it right - I have thrown a lot of burnt toast away. The settings are different between 1 and 2 pieces so if I put 1 piece in the next day after doing 2 pieces the first day it will burn. Just be mindful of this.
Have had this toaster for a few months and I find it very inconsistent. Sometimes it cooks toast perfectly, other times it is the complete opposite and I have to flip it in each direction to get the bread cooked. Obviously then have to watch it closely so some areas don’t burn. I’m a big fan of Breville products but don’t think I would recommend this toaster.
