And it's an easy reset on the bottom of the lid!!!! HOWEVER I DO NOT LIKE THAT THE SPOUT IS COMPLETELY OPEN WITH NO COVER ON IT AT ALL. If they fixed the lid or just had a section of the lid snap or pop open it would be perfect. Plastic waste has drastically decreased in the first week alone. We're all drinking more water now. We don't normally keep bottled water in the fridge due to them taking up so much space, so when we want them they are room temperature or warm. Now with this pitchers sleek design there is plenty of room in the frigde and we can easily enjoy cold water. I love that it has a reservoir that keeps extra water on backup so you don't have to refill it every time. The pitcher can be completely filled and if you pour out half a pitcher than there is enough to fill it back to the top again. No more need to disguise the taste with flavored teas and such. Water is crisp and clean tasting! It’s got a more smooth taste and no longer has that harsh bitter taste like the faucet presents. Haven't had it long enough to comment on how long the filter lasts or whether the container holds up well under use, but so far, I'm happy. **If you have hard water, you may need to change filters more often. ** It also lights up green when it’s good and filtered, yellow when it’s getting close to the red zone and red when it needs switched I’m so glad we received this pitcher and I couldn’t be more pleased. The filter reduces Chlorine, Mercury, Cadium, Copper, and Zinc and can also use the Longlast+ filter which lasts longer and filters more. The water does have a heavier mouth feel to me but is not unpleasant and the water tastes better than my tap. I also love that I can save on one-time use of plastic bottles by using a Brita system and filling my own. Bad Design of Pitcher

The design of OB61 is terrible. The instructions say to fill from the side and not on the filter which is in the middle. Why would you design the pitcher that way. then? My former pitcher had the filter on the side which is where it belongs NOT IN THE MIDDLE! Bought from COSTCO and only Brita Pitcher available. It's not my first Brita pitcher and I didn't know I should check your website. Also, you shouldn't make us pick below statement as it is not in our words. I had no choice to buy any other pitcher.

Brita now makes its own knock-offs

I have used Brita water pitchers exclusively for over 30 years. Loved them. Eventually they leak and I buy a new one. The Champlain I just bought took my breath away. It is incredibly flimsy next to my old one, the design is absolutely bizarre, the spout open (no flap), you can’t keep the top on, pouring mechanism is laughably awkward and will clearly break very soon as the plastic is so thin and cheap. I tried unsuccessfully to communicate by email on the Brita website but gave up after it twice froze, wiping out what I’d already entered. I am heading off into the world of non-Brita products. Always a shame when a great product gets destroyed from within. Wish I could upload comparison pics, old vs. new…

Facing issue- Smart lights not working

I had bought my Brita Champlain model No. OB61/OB03 from Costco in New Jersey last year, have been facing a problem with the pitcher from the very beginning whereby the yellow light never came up to indicate replacement of the filter soon, it showed only green and red when required. I didn't pay much heed since it was doing the job overall as the red and green was lighting up. However, recently the smart lights on top have stopped completely. Nothing lights up. We have tried resetting, but it hasn't resolved the problem- the light is not blinking while we pour. Though on resetting and pressing the button for 5 secs the lights flash 3 times to confirm the reset. This is our second kitchen sized Brita pitcher, and the flip top lid just broke…the lid cracked off the press lever. There was no trauma to the lid…the lever was pressed to open the lid and the lid just cracked off for no apparent reason. I wouldn’t be so irritated if I could get a replacement lid for the pitcher, but apparently there instead a replacement part department in your company. Such a pity. We have used Britas for years, and have one in the bathroom to, which we also take camping, and I her a portable water bottle I love to take on trips and around our 100+ degree area, but, sadly, I think we may have to look for a different company that has replacement parts. I would gladly buy a new lid for a few dollars. I do recommend the filtration. It’s very good. I am disappointed in the fact that parts keep breaking. We had a tank crack and chip, a bad handle, now a lid, and the flip top to my water bottle broke off, all happening in Les than or just barely a year of use. I dont really like how easily the items break; very inconvenient without replacement parts available. We like the filtration, but may look for sturdier brands and hope the filtration is as good.

Not happy with design.

I purchased this model a week ago. My older wave pitchers top pops off when I need to fill it. I'm not happy with the new pitcher. There is no cover over the pouring spout and this leaves the water open to dust and any other particles floating around. I keep my pitcher on the count top and I covered it with plastic wrap to keep it clean. I am going to return it to the place I purchased it. I'm glad I held onto my old pitcher, I'll just keep attaching the top after I fill it. What made the company give up a cover spout?

Overall Poor Design

The indicator light stopped working after the 2nd filter replacement. It’s very unfortunate that BRITA does NOT provide troubleshooting information on their own website. After spending way too much of my time on the internet, YouTube and forums researching why the indicator light stopped working, I’ve concluded the battery is dead and it cannot be changed. BRITA should Display “NON-REPLACEABLE BATTERY” on the packaging for the consumer to read and it should be posted on their website and user manual. I never would have bought it if I knew I could not replace the battery. We all know batteries die! Also, after filling the pitcher, water settles into the handle and leaks everywhere.

I was skeptical of water filter pitchers (mostly concerns about slow filter time, cost of having to buy filters, and overall effectiveness), but I am so happy I bought this . It couldn't be easier to use and the filtered water tastes great (I'm filtering well water). My biggest concern with my water before buying the pitcher was that it was full of little floaties that definitely made me not want to drink it, and I certainly didn't want to serve it to guests. It also sometimes had that white haze that tap water can get. Since using the pitcher I've had crystal clear, particle free water that tastes delicious. Those worried about filling and dumping three pitchers when first installing - it doesn't take long, especially if you do something else in between, like water your plants with the discarded water or just tidy your kitchen! I had seen reviews saying the plastic is a bit cheap, but I haven't had issues. Sometimes I do wonder if the handle is strong enough to hold it when it's at capacity, but I just hold the pitcher with two hands in those instances.

very high potential for contamination design flaw

My older model 10 cup Brita Pitcher cracked when my baby accidentally knocked it down to the floor and so I had to replace it quick. So I bought the Champlain Water Pitcher from Costco as a replacement. It wasn't until after I opened everything, washed it and put it back together again that I realized there's no cover for the spout! Such poor design. I'm pretty upset that I didn't realize this before opening. I don't understand who on earth decided that it didn't need a cover on the spout especially since the point is to purify water and then have freshly clean water to drink. So many things just flying in the air or even the occasional bugs can get right in there and contaminate the water before you drink it. Trust no longer...Maybe it's my fault for putting so much trust in the Brita brand that I passed on my usual review search prior to purchase. Not really sure what to do now with all my replacement filters since all the current 10 cup designs seem to not have a spout cover.
