This is my second purchase of a Brita Mantra Flow, the 8.2 L "stationary" water filter. It is truly excellent!I made a big mistake - so be careful. After a year of use, I washed the body of the unit in my dishwasher, without removing the spout. The O-Ring shrank in the heat, the the unit developed a leak. I could not find any replacement O-Rings - so I bought a new unit.As long as you separate the spout from the main body before you wash it, this should last a lifetime!

I have used a Brita Maxtra Filter Jug for a number of years, and have always bought the replacement filters from Robert Dyas. The water filtered by the system is very pleasant and well worth the cost of the filters, each of which lasts about a month. Robert Dyas always stocks the filters, occasionally at a discount price, and the ease of ordering and paying for the filters and the quick delivery to my home make for a very satisfactory commercial experience.

Maxtra+ filters by Brita have never let me down, and it's wonderful to be able to recycle them at Robert Dyas shops. It makes a huge difference to the tapwater I consume, especially in tea - the water here is hard enough to affect the flavour! One word of caution to those who are new to Brita products: The countdown timer built into their pitchers and kettles is not based on the amount of usage of the product, it simply counts down four weeks. So, if you don't use your filter much, it won't need replacing every four weeks; but if you use your filter a lot, you may want to replace it sooner than the timer recommends.

I always come to Robert Dyas for my Brita Maxtra Water filter Cartridges, they always have them in stock and for a good price. They are often discounted. They were not this time but we needed them because we use our Brita filter every day. I'm on my second water filter jug. I had my last one for about 7 years, it was still going strong when I got the new one, I just thought it was a bit tired. I only buy official Brita filters as the water tastes good. I wouldn't want to take a risk on a different type of cartridge. I would recommend to a friend. I actually bought one for my daughter to take to University and she and her friends have used hers. They are extremely useful.
Glad I bought another jug as I now have one in my motorhome too!Thought I would not like the new top opening but it does work well!I use the water for my dogs, us and plants! My Tassimo machine doesn't rock up so quick either as with my electric kettle also!Service for new memo was great too. I highly recommend Brita!
I'm an old Englishman who has been living in Maastricht for the last 50 years, I love it here, I'm happy here but I do have one problem. Limburg water; wherever it comes from, does not make good tea! Many years ago I discovered this minor fault in Limburg perfection can be easily corrected by filtering the water using a Brita filter. And so, for the last many years I filter all my water and live happily with perfect tea, everybody who visits tells me it is so.
I bought a filter jug when my under-sink water filter desperately needed changing. I knew this because my coffee machine needed descaling almost monthly! I noticed that the filter always needed changing one or two days before the month was up which seemed fair, seeing as the water quality was poor.Once I replaced the under-sink water filter guess what? I still needed to change my Maxtra filter several days before the month was up, which puzzled me because I know how good that under-sink filter is and can taste the difference in the drinking water when it is doing its job.Last month I decided to only use my filter jug daily but sparingly, but it still turned red several days before the month was up. Is this a total con? I certainly didn't filter 100L of water and ... MoreI bought a filter jug when my under-sink water filter desperately needed changing. I certainly didn't filter 100L of water and yet, when I first used the filter because my under-sink one desperately needed replacing and the Maxtra was working hard I still only needed to replace it every 28 days.
I have just taken part in a survey with a promise of £10 voucher to spend in the Brita online shop. Having done the survey, I now find that you can't purchase the Maxtra filters from the website and that there is a £40 minimum spend. I feel that I have been conned and will not be purchasing any more BRITA branded products in the future.
The water filter refills seem to not do what they actually should! One bar short of what should be registered once the filter change takes place, so Im a tad bit disappointed. I am hoping the next change will be accurate, otherwise all refills will be needing replacing before they actually should be changed!
I bought this about two months ago as I have a Fill and Enjoy water jug for cold tap water, a Coffee maker and a BRITA filter kettle all of which rely on this product. The Maxtra Plus filter is undeniably brilliant at its job in removing the impurities found in tap water. The taste of hot coffee whether made from instant or a pod is so vastly different after the water has passed through the filter. There is no peculiar ‘after taste’ left in my mouth and strangely I don’t seem to suffer a dry mouth that ordinary tap water can leave behind despite its intention to be refreshing. I have always enjoyed drinking water but since using the Maxtra Plus filter, I always drink from the filtered water and not the domestic supply. My faith in the quality of the filter is such ... I have always enjoyed drinking water but since using the Maxtra Plus filter, I always drink from the filtered water and not the domestic supply. My faith in the quality of the filter is such that I also fill up my cat’s drinking bowl with the filtered water and she seems to enjoy it as much as I do. Without doubt there remains a vast improvement in the quality of both hot and cold drinks when the water used has been passed through a Maxtra Plus filter and I would not ever consider going back to tap water. I for one am a Maxtra Filter convert and highly recommend them to interested buyers. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
