Brita filtered water delivers tasty water

I purchased my Brita about 3 months ago and I had ran out of bottled water and pulled my Brita out instead of racing to the store for more bottled water. I had gotten so tired of running to store to purchase bottled water. I’m now glad I ran out of Bottled water. My Brita have great taste and impurities are reduced, and I’m glad I’m not a slave to bottled water ANYMORE.

The only channel to recycle used filters is Brita’s partner, TeraCycle. I just learned that there’s a several-month waiting list to join their recycling program. I have a stockpile of a dozen of these filters. I will wait, but, I suspect there are tons of these filters going to landfills. May be better to jus drink the tap water.

Consistently good product and now recyclable too!

I’ve been purchasing these filters for years, from Costco for the best price, and never have had a problem. It really helps with our hard water in Washington. And I am so excited to learn that there is a way to recycle the filters instead of just throwing away yet more plastic. Thank you Britta for being environmentally responsible!

Good filter but needs improvement
22 September 2015

This is the newer version of the original older filter that you had when we first started the Brita pitcher. Although it is better than the older version there is still need for improvement. PLEASE NOTE: The reason for this is due to the lengthy time it takes to fill the pitcher in order to accomplish aiming the water from the faucet directly into the filter openings. It seems that no matter how slowly you 'trickle' the water it still spills over the side and the purpose of the 'filtered' water is basically lost. It would be much more efficient and time saving (since we refill the pitcher a few times a day and who has that much spare time) IF THE FILETER WAS SHAPED AT THE TOP LIKE A 'FUNNEL' . This would allow users to take less time to fill the pitcher, actually ... MoreThis is the newer version of the original older filter that you had when we first started the Brita pitcher. This would allow users to take less time to fill the pitcher, actually get the water into the filter, and make it overall much more convenient. The idea of the Brita pitcher overall is a fantastic idea since it saves so much for users to not have to purchase as many bottles of waters which ends up being more costly. This is just a suggestion that I hope you take into consideration. My review would greatly increase if this could be achieved. I have mentioned this to my family and friends who also use the pitcher with this filter and they all agree. Sorry for the long review but my intentions are not meant to criticize, just offer honest feedback. Thank you

Has Brita filters been changed?
12 April 2023

We would like to know if anything concerning your standard (Model OB03) water filters has changed. We have been using you filters for years even though our town's central water system improved and monitored by the EPA is doing well.We could easily use one of your filters for at least 2 months without any problems. Now we are lucky to get a month or less out of one.Our supply water has 0% of arsenic, iron and other minerals and our usage is normally 6 8 oz cups per day that we filter. It seems the price of your filters has increased but the quality has decreased. If we are doing something wrong please let us know as we strictly follow the directions of install for the filters.Thank you for your consideration.

I’m sold on Brita and won’t buy bottled water!

I'm not working for Brita, but I have used a Brita Filter for years. Before taking the time to write this, I did a little research and learned that 8.8 million metric tons of plastic waste enters the ocean from coastal communities each year (Wikipedia: Plastic Pollution). That's a lot of plastic being thrown into our oceans.Furthermore, "The chemical structure of most plastics renders them resistant to many natural processes of degradation..."Wherever I go, plastic bottles containing drinking water abound; "For sale" in grocery stores, drug stores, big box stores, sports events, movie theatres, etc.My question to you: instead of buying bottles of water, why not buy a filtration system of your own and fill your own drinking containers? You'll save money in the long run, and cut down on plastic waste at the same time. My Brita filter sits on my kitchen counter. I change the filter every couple of months. It's simple and "green."By continuing to buy bottled water, we, the consumers, “demand" that the "suppliers" continue to produce the the 380 million tons of plastic produced annually. Supply and Demand at work.As Bugs Bunny used to say: "That's all, Folks"

Love my Brita pitcher and filter
18 August 2022

I have had my pitcher for several years. This is the second one I've gotten. It uses the filters I can buy at my local grocery store and the same filter fits both pitchers. I don't like the taste of the plastic I get when I buy bottled water so the dog gets that water and I wash and reuse the bottles with my filtered water. It's the only water I drink. Someday I'll get a bottle that I can use with my filtered water as I don't drink tap water. I totally love my old pitcher and my new pitcher that tells me when it's time to change the filter as well as the Brita filters I use.

NSF 53 Certified, but doesn't reduce lead?!?
30 August 2022

I have been using Brita for years. I recently had reason to make sure our household is protected against lead. I thought Brita's pour through filter being NSF Certified 53 meant we were. NOPE! Buried in the NSF website you'll find that filters must state NSF 53 AND reduces lead. Brita's filters do not. I am extremely disappointed and will be switching to a new brand.

What Happened to This Filter??!!!
5 July 2016

I have been using the Brita water pitcher for 3 years. I replace the filters on the pitcher every two months like clockwork and I have ALWAYS purchased the Brita filters not some cheap offshoot. The last month I have replaced the filter three times, yesterday was the last time, I have had it. After I returned the filters the first two times and noticed they were still not working AT ALL, I decided I would go to an entirely different store to buy another filter thinking that maybe I just got two filters in a bad batch. But very frustratingly I was wrong. (I bought the first two bad filters at Fry's and the third, and last, filter I got at Target yesterday). Not only does the water taste like it is straight from the tap but the water we have put in our cool mist humidifier is dumping so much dust onto our furniture I have had to dust a couple of times per day. Again, we have been using the same product with the exact same Brita replacement fiilters for over three years (since February of 2013) and until now the water it filtered was perfect. We could safely use the filtered water in our humidifier (in fact the filters had worked so well until now that we only had to dust maybe once every two weeks even though we run our humidifier year round) and the water tasted exceptionally good, much better than the PUR we had been using for many years prior to that. Today I will have to go buy a new PUR pitcher because even though I don't think it's water tasted as good as the Brita at least the filters worked. Honestly, I have no idea if Brita decided to cut corner somewhere but something is really wrong with their pitcher filters, not just a little wrong, but very very wrong in that they are NOT working at all.

Why throw away money on bottled water?
11 May 2022

OK...bottled water is convenient, and pretty cheap! But, even on super sale, it is still about 15 cents a bottle. I had a Brita Pitcher, but was out of replacement filters. I decided to just buy this 3-pack and activate my pitcher again. Glad I did. I have gone through dozens of pitchers of water, save the bottles for the car, etc. Have a save a million dollars? Of course not. But I have probably saved the cost of the filters, and I am still on my same one! They last several hundred pitchers until you have to change them out! Get yourself a Brita Pitcher...with some filters. It's worth it. By the way... We have "good tap water" here in my city. There is no big after-taste, etc. But I drank a few swigs of the tap water, and then the Brita filtered water... I could ... MoreOK...bottled water is convenient, and pretty cheap! There is no big after-taste, etc. But I drank a few swigs of the tap water, and then the Brita filtered water... I could INSTANTLY taste the difference. The Brita water was totally tasteless...clear...just purified water. Our city water had a slight, tolerable, slight...but a slight taste. So the filtering does make a difference. P.S. If you have a Brita Pitcher with an old filter in it that has been dry for months? Throw that filter out. The do "go bad". Put a new one in there to re-start.
