This water filter cartridge was recommended by Brita because the MAXTRA PRO all-in-one cartridge wasn’t having the desired effect when it came to eliminating water scaling(limescale). This is because I noticed sediment in the inside of my cup when I had made a cup of tea and on the surface of hot water, after only maybe a week or so. The water is hard in my area. Even now I’ve changed to the ‘limescale expert’ cartridges, I notice the same thing after maybe 2- 3 weeks of use, so whatever is in the water is causing the problem.

Have used Brita for over 10 years. Bought the new BRITA MAXTRA PRO LIMESCALE EXPERT and was truly surprised at how much better the water tasted and how much less limescale was visible after boiling the water. I’m not easily impressed; but this has been an eye opener to how not so great the old Brita cartridges are. Bought new cartridges at one third off at ASDA to boot! The only remaining test is how long the new cartridges work well for. I doubt they’ll last a month, but I’d still buy them again for the improved quality. Deducted one star for plastic housing. Hope this helps.

I cannot recommend this product enough.I have used Brita products for years, and while I found the regular cartridges to provide refreshingly tasting water, but these Limescale cartridges outperform the regular Brita ones.The taste of the water alone is delicious, and the teas and coffees made with water filtered through the Maxtra Pro Limescale Expect cartridges taste much better.I would definitely recommend this product to anyone living in a hard water area. You won't regret purchasing the product.
Brita revamped the Maxtra filters, gave them a slightly new name and whacked up the price. Not sure why when the previous sort worked just fine. These filters are supposed to be all-in-one but theyre not theyre pretty useless at filtering limescale compared to their predecessors. Now it seems there is a specialist Brita limescale version too which is also more expensive. Why did they change things just to make things worse?
I live in London, so we all know the limescale build-up is crazy. I started using the limescale filter after cleaning my kettle and couldn't get over how shiny and clean it remained for weeks. When it came time to switch my filter, I used the regular one that came with the jug. It barely lasted a week on the regular filter before there was limescale buildup in the kettle again. If you live in London, or anywhere with hard water, you need the limescale specific filters.
Can't really see any difference from the standard Britta filters, to the supposedly scale free one's or is it less scale!!ie' I still get loads of scale of the lid of my Brita filter jug, so please make your own conclusions.But you can't fault John Lewis though, as usual they are on point. Communication on order placed was spot on, and their click n collect was a really good experience. They've got a dedicated collection point downstairs in their store, and it so easy to get to in their building. Although I've only given BRITA 3 stars, I'm giving John Lewis 5 star's.
My personal opinion having used Maxtra cartridges for over 10 years. Brita standard cartridges now only last about 14 days before kettle scaling and water taste starts to come back. These Maxtra PRO are 10 % more expensive but at least they will go 21 days plus before needing replacement. My conclusion is that PRO are no better than the Maxtra cartridges of a few years ago. We are effectively paying more for no practical performance benefit over the originals.

The best value on the market. If we are looking for anything, Robert Dyas is our first stop and always comes up trumps. We would not go anywhere else. There isn't anything to say about the Maxtra filters - I have used them for years and am happy with them.My comments are about two of your staff in Putney. I am embarrassed that I do not know their names.There is a black lady who has worked there a while. She is always polite, friendly and helpful. When I bought the product above, a Polish gentleman was on the till and he, too, was professional and helpful.If you can identify these two staff members, please commend them. They are a credit to your company.
