Brixton, in general has quality hats. Its the place to go when you want a well done, nice hat at a prize that won't drain your account. Having said that, I love this hat. Its light, comfortable and just great with multiple outfits and for multiple occasions. Even though you could fold it/roll it to travel with, I would rather not just because its... a nice hat.

I bought this hat thinking I would look like a modern wizard, or perhaps a daring adventurer. Perhaps I just haven't found the right outfit to pair it with yet, or perhaps I just don't give off adventuring vibes. I dunno. Also, the leather band around started flaking almost immediately, which isn't great.

The hat has just the right length of brim, and just the right flounce in the brim. It is cute and stylish, and can be dressed up or down. I have trouble finding hats that fit right. I have a small head, and most hats are usually too big. I ended up with the xs, and it fits perfectly. Brixton is one of the few hat companies that makes just about all their hats in sizes xs through xl, so one will definitely fit you right. Before seeing Brixton on backcounty, I had never heard of them. Many manufacturers only make hats in one size or two sizes, and I am sorry the "one size fits all" or "one size fits most" doesn't work for many of us. Additionally, the inside of the hat has a fine tune adjustment feature. I have always admired women who pull off these types of hats but my head it usually too small to wear adult sized hats. After years of looking with no luck, I gave up. Then, I became one of those women who must keep my head/face out of the sun and the hat search began, again. I paid a fortune for a gorgeous sun hat (because it actually fit me). I adored the compliments I got but fretted over the damage almost daily wear was taking on such a pricey item. When I needed something for the fall, I figured I'd have to shell out a ton of money, again...But then I found this hat! I did measure my head because these come in actual sizes (I ordered a small) and I was thrilled to find the size adjuster hiding between the inner band of the hat and the felt...I could wear it as ... MoreI have always admired women who pull off these types of hats but my head it usually too small to wear adult sized hats. I did measure my head because these come in actual sizes (I ordered a small) and I was thrilled to find the size adjuster hiding between the inner band of the hat and the felt...I could wear it as it was but I would have had to be extremely careful of the wind. One tiny adjustment made this hat fit like a dream! The classic design of this hat also means it goes with pretty much everything. I chose the leather band because I lead a more coastal/country lifestyle and I chose the brown color because I am fair-haired and have light eyes. My sunglasses aren't an issue underneath this hat, either, which is important since I wear this hat more over my brow than on the back of my head because I'm intending to keep the sun off of my face.So...I'll say this...This hat didn't clear my bank account, did help me protect myself from the sun, does keep me feeling a bit warmer on these brisk fall days AND makes me feel like I'm doing it in a comfortable and stylish way...I'm already looking forward to a Brixton sun hat for next summer.
Hat arrived with a bent brim. David Jones packed hat into a box that was too small for hat. This hat has a cardboard type brim and once bent the hat is ruined. I visited my local store for a return. At first the assistant told me I would need to return by mail and as I purchased via PayPal was only entering a store credit, Eventually the assistant offered a refund as I highlighted that this item arrived damaged and beyond my fault (I returned item to store in the box it arrived in and on the day it arrived.
This caramel hat is much more warm, with orange/red undertones in person. I think this color would look incredible of a deeper, warmer skin tone! It simply doesn't suit my fair, pink undertones.I gave the hat four stars for the color regarding my skin tone, personally. That said, I own this hat in black, charcoal, and beige. I think its a fantastic hat, but there is an obvious presence of warm and/or cool undertones for each color of the hat. This is more present in person as the color is more vibrant in person.
A little pricey for what it is, BUT the quality is unmatched! It is sturdy and actually a little bit on the "floppy" side (the brim), rather than a flat fedora. I have a hard time finding hats that fit well, so I typically have to find ones that have velcro or are adjustable, but I ordered this in an Xsmall and it fit PERFECTLY! Purchased it for a wedding and outdoor graduations and I am so excited that this will be my go-to for so much more without having to worry about a little breeze making it fly off or flop around. The brown/taupe color is a perfect neutral color. WORTH IT - JUST BUY IT!
I always like Brixton hats, but this one was disappointing. The color is called “Brass” and in the picture, on line, it looks like a rich caramel color, which is exactly what I wanted. When it arrived I was shocked that it was a drab olive green! The hat is well made, fit perfectly and the exactly what I wanted…so sad I had to return it.
I purchased this hat as a transition piece for early spring. We headed out to Napa and it was perfect for cool chilly mornings and windy afternoons. I have a small head, so being able to purchase a small is necessary. I received so many compliments on this hat!
This Brixton hat I ordered was to large at XL BUT I then ordered the L it was perfection!! It is also so comfortable, In the store they didn't have L available in the women's section but on line they did! I wear a lot of hair add ons AND what is so cool as when I don't wear my add ons the Brixton hat can be tightened underneath. a fantastic feature! The soft wool felt is a great comfortable feel I am now the newest and biggest fan of Brixton Hats Rest assured I'll be purchasing more of this brand for winter and next upcoming spring.
