I really wanted to love these, but they gave me the worst arch blisters I've ever had in my life. I couldn't run for over a week after wearing these on an 8-mile jog. They have a bucket-seat like insole that causes a lot of friction on your arch. I wore double layered socks and used foot glide and tried again 2 weeks later. They still caused blisters. Very disappointed, because otherwise, these shoes felt absolutely incredible. They are so squishy, you will not feel a single rock or crack you run over. It absorbs all the unevenness of the ground. I really hope they fix the arch issues for next years models. They are unbelievably soft.

They’re sleek, stylish, and dare I say—fashionable enough to make you feel cool while getting fit.So, while I wish this was a sponsored review, it's not. I bought these with my own hard-earned money, and let me tell you—they are worth every penny. If you have feet that scream by the end of the day, I would try the Brooks Glycerin Max.

After trying probably 40 or more shoes I found the Glycerin GTS 21 was my best friend until the toe box started to collapse strangely. I went to the 20 and was very happy. No more knee pain! I can walk like a normal person! When the Max came out I was excited to try but sad there was no GTS. I took a chance and WOW! If there is a change, I will update my review. The comfort is fantastic. I would have liked a longer tongue as the sides hit a bit awkward. Or perhaps more like that of the Glycerin GTS 20 or 21 but it’s a minor thing. The other odd thing I see is the lace up is not even on both sides of the shoe. I thought it was my shoes but looked at pics on the web site and it looks like that’s the design. Not sure why…. Over all this is a very very comfortable shoe and a life changer for my knees and hips so far. The stack is amazing and comfy! Brooks, please make more colors! I’ll try to add pic of where I feel some kind of stability bar with my finger and another showing the uneven laces.

As of May, I developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot and recently had a weird knee pain in my right. Last week I went and tried these on and felt confident enough to buy them. The cushion is amazing! I have only worn them for a week, but was able to come off taking NSAIDs after day one in them (I am also on my feet all day) and wore them without any issues the rest of the week. Both the plantar fasciitis and knee pain are practically gone! I am truly amazed! While the height and new roll in the front may take some getting used to, I had very little adjustment period for it. Thank you, Brooks, for finally making a shoe with enough cushioning to not need orthotics. I do have one suggestion... maybe look into adding a tiny bit more arch in the shoe for future ... MoreAs of May, I developed plantar fasciitis in my left foot and recently had a weird knee pain in my right. Absolutely the MOST AMAZING PAIR OF SHOES I’ve EVER OWNED!! and that’s coming from someone who have luxury shoes such as LV, Dior, & Gucci. Please release more colors ASAP and I plan to purchase at least 4 more pairs to alternate between because I’m leaving the other shoes to collect dust while wearing these 90% of the time! I have wide feet with bunions on both and I purchased the 8.5. They were so comfortable without any pain whatsoever on the right bunion. So if someone is wondering if these are suitable for someone with bunions and/or slightly wider feet, you can rest assured they will work for you!I walked in these the first day at the mall and restaurant and by the time I went home and removed them, my right ankle did not hurt at all!! Generally by the end of the day, my right ankle would ache extensively. Today was my second time wearing it around campus and I used the stairs often and it was complete comfort as well!! These are the Holy Grail for my FEET for sure!! Thank you Glycerin Max!!

Surprisingly Fast; Supremely Comfortable!

I am really impressed by these! They are comfortable and smooth at everything from brisk walking ~14min/mi pace to pickups ~6min/mi pace. The cushioning is somehow protective and bouncy while also having a snappy response that makes the shoe run much lighter and faster than its look/weight suggests.I also wore these for a post-race recovery run on rolling paved hills, two days after a 50-miler and they were superb! No toenail pressure on my sore toes, no pressure on my healing big toe blisters and so smooth/bouncy that I had to consciously slow down. I’ve never had such a great run so soon after a long race.Sizing is accurate. Vertical toebox space isn’t the best but the upper is forgiving enough that you don’t feel cramped once running. A truly versatile shoe that makes faster runs feel effortless and slower runs feel FUN. Well worth the high price because they are great for so many paces and types of runs/walks.

The Brooks shoe you always wanted!
31 October 2024

Love this shoe so much. I’ve ran two half marathons in Hoka Cliftons and thought they would be the shoe to get me through my first marathon training as well. Once I ramped up my mileage, I started to get plantar fasciitis which I’ve never had issues with in the past. These really helped my plantar fasciitis and give me so much support and cushion. They’re the brooks shoe I’ve always wanted with how flexible, soft, springy, and natural the impact and toe off feels. I also give brooks props for how stylish, simplistic and sleek the design is. Could not recommend this shoe enough for distance runners!

Really torn whether to give 4 or 5 stars. I have been a ghost runner for years, switch to ghost max really liked them. However, after reading the reviews for ghost max newest model I opted to try these. I was by no means thrilled to pay $200. But after reading what all the runners magazines I said … I was like ok I will try. Normally my feet ache after the first run in a new shoe, they did not in these. When I travel for work, I live in heels. Trying to save my knees by getting these because I want to keep running. Ran several shorter runs in these 4-5 miles nothing more yet, happy. The toe box is smaller than the ghost and ghost max, I have a small bunion on my right foot. It does bother it but I hoping maybe I will get used to it. I feel about the same between the two knee wise. But I will say that I think I feel better after running in these. I know it’s odd to say I think but I am only 5-6 runs in all shorter ones. I am not traveling a ton right now to gauge the heels all day then run the next morning for these yet but hoping I feel the same. I am petite frame not overweight but run 2-3 times a week. They are light considering how stinking “fat” the sole is and I am wondering how long they will hold up as I near 300-400 miles. I can go a bit longer not trading out shoes because of my size. I would say if you can afford these definitely try them. It would be cool if brooks to have an option to review after wear between 200-500 miles. Just a thought

Unimpressed - So wanted to love them

I was so excited to try out these shoes...only to be really disappointed in them. The upper on the sides hit too high on the bone and caused blisters. I wore them for a 5 mile run and couldn't make a decision based on that, so took them for my 18 mile run and regretted it. On top of the blisters, my feet just HURT after running in them. I can see them being helpful for standing all day, but for running long distances, it's a no for me. Will be returning and back to the drawing board. I have worn Brooks for many years and all the changes in all the shoes has sent me to other brands over the past few years.

[Rewarded Review] Different, but good!

The fit of these shoes are good. I like wide shoes and these feel kind of wide. There is a lot of cushioning and are very comfortable. The shape of the sole is different than other sneakers. The front of the shoe has a curve to it so it’s kind of like a rocking chair for my feet. The sole is thick and it makes me taller, which I like. The shoe laces are at an angle so it’s unlike traditional shoes. The fabric is breathable. I like how these are not like other sneakers. The only thing I would change is the color, but other than that I like these shoes.
