Brother MFC-L2730DW [ All-in-one 2-Sided Printing ] Wireless Compact Mono Laser

If it is for a cheap, decent quality printing with a photocopying capabilities, then buy it.I was attracted to the fact it featured a scanner with a document feeder. However, the software bundles with the MFC-L2730DW is very basic and does feature any cropping software or page management, so all you get is the image of the whole plate and no quick way to crop it out. A Printer for All Occasions

This printer was very easy to install. The only part I had to place in it was the laser cartridge and even that was incredibly simple. I followed the instructions on the Quick Setup Guide without any problems. My computer doesn`t have a CD drive, so I was glad to see that I could easily download the instructions from online instead. The instructions online were easy to follow as well and downloading everything took less than 15 minutes. My computer connected to my wireless printer without any problems. Instead of venturing to the school, I love being able to scan from home. At first, I tried to scan by going directly to the printer. When I clicked on the scan icon, it stated that it wasn`t connected, so I tried from my computer. I was able to scan my documents without any problems when accessing the feature from my computer but couldn`t quite figure it out when using the printer itself. After troubleshooting the feature, I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong.In comparison to other printers I have used, I can honestly say this one is very accessible and user friendly. I like how it doesn`t take long to connect, and it is small enough to fit on my corner desk with my books and laptop. My favorite feature is the clear display screen on the front of the printer. It is easy to maneuver. If there is anything I need, I can simply click and go. All in all, I have enjoyed using this printer, and I look forward to continue using it for business and personal occasions. I am very impressed.

Degrades your Mental Health

Printers are temperamental. Fact. With that being said, this machine is the worst printer ever. It is impossible to use envelopes or other sizes of paper as the machine will randomly but often tell you there is a paper jam where none exists. Not only does it tell you there is a paper jam, it won't resolve unless you turn it completely off or sometimes requiring a full unplug to satisfy the bipolar behavior of this machine. The amount of time I have spent using my coping skills to keep from pitching this machine out the window has degraded my mental health, costing me time and productivity. In a rural area such as ours it is difficult to get quality products.

Excellent Buy for a Home Office

Surprisingly well built, reliable functioning. Easy to install and configure on a local home LAN with 5 Windows PCs. Well supported with good printing apps for IOS and Android mobile devices. Pre-configured factory Interface network device security password is a nice touch. Reasonable running costs per-page, Ideal for a small office-home network. So far it has performed better than the Docuprint M265z also on our network. And, that is saying something considering the Docuprint is a really good device. Pretty happy with the MFC-L2730DW.

Good printer with worst software

Good Printer with worst software, It's difficult to get it work on a Mac system. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers, software, connected after a cumbersome process of installation but didn't worked next time. reseted the wifi, reseted the printer installation, can see it's on wifi, can see Mac is showing it idle but it just don't print saying the printer is offline. So Mac says the printer is available but the brother config tool says no printer available. Tried with ip address of printer, still no luck. :(

Great budget multi-function laser printer!

In 2012, I purchased a very basic and inexpensive Brother HL-2270DW laser printer. This printer served me well without issue for 11 years and is still going strong. Three months ago, I decided to upgrade because I wanted a scanner to store more documents digitally. I was on the fence about whether to spend more for a color laser vs black & white. I ultimately opted for this printer in black and white. So far I'm very happy with this printer. I'm confident that it will serve me well long-term without issue.

Great machine and fast

This printer is great for my business. The only thing I wish I would’ve known is it wasn’t color. When I needed a printer I got this one and after I had all installed is when I realized it. Box wasn’t labeled well to know but my fault for not doing enough checking first. But for a black and white this thing is great! I’m connected through my phone too and super easy to print from it as well! Who doesn’t use their phone for everything these days and this is just one more added feature. The connectivity to the Wi-Fi was simple. The only cord it uses is the power cord. As long as everything else is Wi-Fi capable you don’t need any other cords. It’s really great for me!

In all honesty, I don`t believe I`ve ever had so easy a set-up for any printer in my life!..First the printer is very well packaged. Nothing jostles around and everything was easy to find in the box. Not hugely heavy to lift out and the printer is actually a bit smaller than the box makes it appear. Once removed from the box, the tape over the moving parts of the printer is very easy to remove and leaves no sticky residue. The printer was connected to my home internet in less than 30 seconds!I was a bit nervous in having to push the toner cartridge into the machine firmly because I didn`t want to break anything fresh out of the box. But the instructions said to press it in firmly so I did. Once it clicked it was no problem. I didn`t have to run any installation disk. Because it was connected to my home internt my computer found it when I went to print something. Add printer found it in 10 seconds and connected in less than 20. The print quality is crisp and clean with no pixelation.I swear, less than 5 minutes from opening the box to printing a sheet of paper! Holy mother of easy! What an awesome printer this is so far!

MFC-L2730DW does NOT duplex scan as advertised

Brother, Please update the feature set on the website to indicate that the MFC-L2730DW does not have duplex scanning ability, or at least add another feature to the specifications list that defines whether the MFC can scan both sides of the page at the same time from the ADF? Duplex scanning sure sounds like that to me.I spoke to a product specialist on chat and asked why the MFC-L2730DW matches feature for feature when compared on this website side by side using the compare checkboxes, and is less expensive. I was told that the MFC-L2730 does not have an ADF which scans both sides of the page at the same time.There is no other feature listed that differentiates the two models. Both of them list YES next to DUPLEX SCANNING. And the double sided scanning feature is all win in my opinion, especially at the price point.

MFC-L2730DW home office

I go through periods where I don’t print for months, and out of nowhere I need to print a lot of pages. Had enough of wasting money on ink that would dry out or have heads clogged so bad I had to buy a whole new inkjet. It was so incredibly wasteful and always left me in a bind when I needed to print something critically important. I decided I needed a decent laser printer that could lay asleep for extended periods and then print like a beast when the need arose. I print from my MacBook, my iPad, my iPhone without any issue. Because it’s no fuss and it’s invisible in the background. When I do need it, it does it’s job reliably and then gets out of my way and disappears back into the background. One less super frustrating thing to have to worry about. Things I don’t like, the DPI resolution on the scanner is okay, but I’d like to see some ridiculous high resolution because I do scan small documents and photos sometimes. Printing on envelopes is disgusting. If I didn’t have the self adhesive paper strips on the flaps, the heat from printing would have sealed the envelope closed. The printer also creases the envelope badly. Extremely unprofessional looking after the envelope has been run through the machine. Those weird quarks out of the way, I print flawlessly on 28lb copy paper, 24lb “parchment” surface, and 24lb 25% cotton linen. I got my Brother MFC-L2730DW from the shelf at Walmart, since it was the most expensive option. I knew it would be an investment on cost/waste and savings on my sanity. I love it! Buy it nice or buy it twice.
