Amazing But Not Perfect

I pre-ordered the Era 40 oz in Thistle (bluish-purple color) on Christmas Day. It arrived as promised on January 23rd.First, let me say that I absolutely LOVE this Brumate! The web description states that the lid "Includes a rubber grip that makes opening your Era easy without having to touch the straw." Yes, it is true that you are able to open the Era without touching the straw, but it is specifically the grip that is the issue for me. It is rubberized but it is a very small strip of rubber and not enough for me to be able to grip it well. I have struggled to open this at times. I need to remove the top part of the straw and use one of those rubber grippy things you use to open jars. It's cumbersome and really inconvenient if this happens when I'm at work and I don't have the grippy thing like I do at home. I do wish there was an option for a lid that addresses grip issues.The only other slight negative is the outer straw. I'm not sure what the material is exactly, silicone or bendy plastic? I love the flexibility of it and how no one will be impaled if they somehow fell on it BUT I found out the hard way that tossing this into my tote bag (vs carrying it by hand) means that when I take it out, there will be bits of fuzz and dog hair on it. Very minor inconvenience but worth noting. I am going to try and find a straw cover that fits and that should correct this silly problem.Also, I do not recommend drinking anything carbonated from this if you plan to utilize the leakproof features. I learnt the hard way that if you are drinking sparkling water and demonstrate how you can turn it upside down without the water pouring out...the water will explode out when you turn the indicator to the drinking mode! Contents under pressure and all that, LOL, so user error, but something to keep in mind!Again, despite the negatives described, I absolutely love this cup! If they ever come out with a different lid option that addresses mobility issues or even a whole new cup that does the same, I will be the first to pre-order!!

Best Tumbler/Water Bottle Ever!!

I went down a bit of a rabbit hole when researching tumblers to buy because theres so much on the market. I genuinely love my Brumate so much!! I think it’s way better than any other products (stanley cups) because it’s completely leak proof which is an absolute game changer. I can chuck it in my bag without worrying about any leakage and it keeps my water and ice cold all day. I also really like that it’s a metal straw with a silicone top rather than plastic. The only thing I will say is if you put it in your bag the silicone part of the straw can get a bit dusty which is a little annoying. It’s also fairy durable as it’s got a rubber mat on the bottom to which protects against dents and doesn’t make a loud noise when you place it down on surfaces. Decent cup, room for improvement

This cup was recommended by someone who absolutely loves them as a replacement for a Yeti that had taken a beating over many years. I purchased through Amazon and was excited to get it.First of all I love that it fits in a cup holder. Number one thing I was looking forward to and it did not fail at meeting that expectation.I have only ever used it for ice water. Been using it for a few months now. It keeps water/ice cold for the entire day, I am able to refill my water 3-4 times with the same ice. It was cracked where the little knob locks the straw in place rendering the entire up unusable. I fear it is only a matter of time before the replacement meets a similar demise.Second, the rigid structure of the metal straw makes a cup filled with enough ice to last the day infuriatingly difficult to line up and screw the lid shut. I spend 10 minutes some mornings fighting the ice and straw to line up to get the lid screwed on. I personally believe a plastic straw with a little flexibility to it would completely change my mind. If it could simply be forced around an ice cube without fear of snapping that flimsy little piece of plastic that the whole thing relies on to work I’d never buy an alternative. More difficult but solving the same problem would be to move the straw to the edge of the lid. Engineer such that the lid only screws on in a way that the straw is at 90/180/270 degree angle to the handle allowing the straw to slide down the edge of the cup as a guide.I suspect it’s only a matter of time before the straw breaks again from simple wear and tear or trying to force the cover to line up perfectly and I’m left with another unusable cup that you can’t even buy replacement parts for yet. Unless there are alternatives to the rigid metal straw secured by flimsy plastic, I’ll be going back to a Yeti that I have to squeeze between me and whatever is next to me since it won’t fit in the cup holder. At least I know I’ll make it out of the house on time in the morning because I didn’t fight with the lid trying to get it to line up like precision medical equipment.I also can’t believe that my wife and I are the only two having difficulty with this. The person that recommended the cup now carries a cooler with ice in it around with her. She swears by the cup like it’s the best thing in the world but literally has to carry an extra cooler with ice to get through the day with cold water so she doesn’t have to fight with the lid like we do every morning.I want to like it, I really do. I also don’t want to carry a cooler of extra ice around or fight with it to the point I’m ready to toss the entire cup across the room every morning.Sincerely,A mostly satisfied customer, who fought too long with their lid this morning!

Disappointed

I’m a big time water drinker. I’ve been using cups like this for years and years, way before the Stanley craze. I’ve tried multiple brands but when I saw this spill proof cup in this gorgeous color, I HAD to preorder it. It is beautiful and it doesn’t leak, but those are really the only pros. Cons on the other hand: it’s extremely heavy, like even when it’s empty, it’s heavier than my other cups when they’re full of ice and liquid. The straw is hard to suck through, you have to have a lot of sucking strength, as silly as that sounds; many people with certain disabilities would struggle to suck from this straw. I bought this while at the beach because the tervis stainless steel water bottles I always use are pretty difficult to get ice in (store bought that melts and sticks together in transport). Although my triple insulated stainless steel tervis water bottles are 100% leak proof (and believe me they are) I wanted to try this because of the leak proof claims (which are true it is sleep-proof I've tested it) and the ease of getting ice into it. First problem is I have to remove the metal straw to get it actually situated in a cup full of ice with very little liquid because that's how I like it. So I'm already touching the straw. Second the straw itself it's a texture thing I really hate the silicone. I just found the lid hard to get on and off.

I swear by the BrüMate brand, I give my little sales pitch to so many people. I’ve gifted this cut to 3 people as well and they all love it just as much as I do. Not to mention their customer service is top tier. I enjoy the color I got well enough but would have preferred one of the colors that were so boldly advertised.Quality: after three weeks of heavy use and daily cleaning the cup still appears good as new on the outside and works as well as it did from day one. I did experience one leak. The straw top was l not lined up exactly. Only water bottle I will ever purchase again!

First, BEAUTIFUL color! Second this thing is literally my ADHD dream water bottle! I prefer to drink out of straws as every time I don't my shirt takes a drink too. Plus I drink more water when I have a straw. Then when I do have straws, I will lean over and wash the floor with whatever was in my cup. Well NOT ANYMORE, unless I forget to close the straw but even then the spillage is very minimal. This cup is sturdy as well! I cannot count how many times in the 6-7 months that I have had this cup that it has been knocked off a table or accidentally dropped from my arms/hands, often onto hard surfaces and/or rocks. They also have the 30oz so if you’re scared of committing to a 40oz or you don’t need that big of cup check the 30oz out. Literally love Brümate they are so innovative and have THE BEST customer service!
