My grey LOVES this toy! It was a bit bigger and sturdy than I expected! I had to remove one of the fruit bowls in the cage to make space for this amazing creation. My grey is very clever and has had no trouble removing the clips on the foraging wheel, sphere, fruit kabobs etc. But this one is literally impossible to remove, but however if your parrot does remove the toy there is no harm done as the feeder itself is indestructable lol. The top is released by pressing the pin (which I had trouble doing at first because I did'nt read the instructions!)What I love about this toy is it is very versatile and unique! You can use it as a feeding station or a toy! Here are some ideas if you plan to get this:1. Remove ball and place a whole apple on the tray and use as a ... MoreMy grey LOVES this toy! No waste as the food drops onto the tray! Try other fruits too!2. Remove ball and replace with the Seek 'n' Find foraging boxes!3. Remove ball and thread some toys on there! (ie: wood, paper, till rolls, different coloured plastic links, hoops are fun too!)4. If you want to hide small treats but it keeps falling out of the holes in the ball just remove the ball and replace with a empty yoghurt pot/plastic cup and turn it upside down and hide treats in there!5. IF YOU DON'T MIND A LITTLE MESS. You could drill a hole at the bottom of a empty yoghurt pot then place it on the tray and then scoop some yoghurt in and watch your parrot feed themselves! No need to worry about your parrot tossing the pot out and it is securely held in place on the holder! (please keep yoghurt to a minimum though, it's really for fun purposes only and huge amount is not good for your bird)6. Drill a hole under a pot of Le Grass Cafe and place on the tray and just watch what happens! (I can't guarantee you will be able to use the pot again lol)Those are just some ideas so I hope it helps! I would love to hear your ideas too! This toy/feeder is definately a good investment! So if your parrot is very clever removing clips on other foraging toys like mine then this feeder is definately a challenge for your bird to remove!

Homer our African grey Homer loves it. After eating the popcorn in it he plays with it for ages, great toy albeit a bit noisy, but that's why he loves it I think.

My boring amazon parrot never plays with conventional toys so I bought this to try and liven him up a bit. He loves it - it did not take him long to work out how to remove the food, but still enriches his brain trying to get bigger pieces like walnuts and almonds. It fits his Harrisons cubes, so I put all his daily dry foods and treats in and it takes him longer to remove bits and pieces than if they were just sat in a dish.Overall, his mood has even improved. Bonus for a parrot that hates toys!P.S. My bird has never tried to break it - the plastic is extremely durable and he has not even noticed the push-button mechanism on the top.

This is an excellent foraging toyMy parrot loves itWould recommend it to every parrot owner kept my parrot busy for hoursExcellent quality and price
This is a wonderful food foraging device and can accomodate a wide range of parrot sizes. I have a black-headed Caique who soon got to grips with the foraging and munching. The gaps are wide enough for the bird to get a good hold and bite at the contents, which encourages them to continue. Although the buffet Ball was too heavy for my Caique to lift and access the bottom half of the balls gaps, it is easy to modify by putting a wooden block on the skewer first and then the ball, so that it is elevated. The catchment dish is a wonderful addition which reduces waste and encourages your bird to forage further with the ball.Expensive BUT it will be able to endure re-use for a good number of years - for a Caique - which in the long run will save you money!
Bought this for my two green cheek conures. Its easy to take apart and refill once its installed - you just unscrew the ball on the top and slide the toy off. The rotating platform underneath it adds another dimension too, as well as collecting the bits of food they drop! It has proved so popular Ive bought one for my cockatiels too.
I bought this for my Cockatoo and as a rule, items like this do not tend to last very long... but to my surprise this product is still going strong. It is great for storing her almonds, separate to her complete food. I did learn not to put any pistachios, her favourite nut, amongst the almonds, as she emptied the complete ball to obtain the pistachios!Would recommend this product
My tiels, or at least some of them are using this. some of them turn to it each morning when they wake up before I get their food dishes back in the cage. I now deliberately leave them out longer so they can forage and eat the myriad of treats inside. I hope theystart getting them from the bottom as well as the top now that Ive put it higher up. They seem to enjoy it.ll
I am very disappointed with this buffet ball. My grey managed to break the self locking plastic piece, that prevents the ball from being removed from the metal rod, in under one minute. I am,therefore, left with a a foraging ball that is completely unfit for purpose.I can only see this ball being of use to owners of very small birds with little or no strength in their bills.I do not recommend this product at all.
I put this in my CAGs cage filled it with harrisons & place some almonds on top of the harrisons right in the middle. thought it would mean he had to eat all the harrisons first before the nuts dropped out. When I came home he'd eaten all the nuts & the harrisons hadnt moved lol. I am sure he was grinning at me. he now turns to this before his food bowl so must be enjoying it.
