I was in need of a double stroller and decided to try the Donkey 5. Being able to convert from a single to double was a huge selling point for me. Instead of having a separate single stroller to use, I can just use my Bugaboo and adjust it as needed. Also, being able to face them towards me or away is a great feature. The baby likes to see me and the toddler wants to face out. The side basket is really cool and there is plenty of storage in the bottom. I also like how it comes with rain covers. The large wheels make for a smooth ride and maneuverability. Other great features include how easy the harness is to adjust, and the leather handle and lap bars are really chic. I actually have the donkey3. but all the upgrades to the donkey five makes me happy for any mama who decides to purchase it. It is a incredibly smooth ride! There’s almost too much storage. Lol is that a thing? My son would take the best naps in the bassinet The first three months of life. We easily have 250+ miles on this stroller and my son is seven months old. it is a larger stroller… And I do admit I don’t use it as my every day errand stroller, but this is the perfect stroller for our family for walks. Not only can I store baby items but I also am able to store items for the dog as well as personal items for my husband and me when we go on our family walks.

This stroller truly is a top tier exquisite stroller! The suspension is excellent combined with the wheels! The ride is smooth even over bumpy terrain and makes off roading an adventure instead of a jarring nightmare. The canopy is so large with a mesh panel that can be exposed or covered. Such excellent design and effortless maneuver and push, even uphill! Then brake is very strong and remains sturdy even on an uphill incline! Easy to expand, pack away, and Carrie’s a ton in the undercarriage, just like a donkey. I just love this stroller and couldn’t recommend it more.

This is a slick stroller! With the arrival of our second child we were in the market for a double stroller that had side by side sitting. After extensive research my husband and I both loved the practicality, function, and look of the donkey 5. After using the stroller for a month now with our newborn and 21 month old we are pleased with the purchase. It easily converts from a single to double in seconds. Fits through doorways perfectly as a double. The stroller rides beautifully and easy to manage when loaded down. It has a higher price tag but there is nothing on the market that can even compare.***My only complaint is the latch to convert from a single to a double on the front of the stroller has come undone from our toddler getting in or out of the stroller a ... Overall, really great product. My wife and i could care less about having a "name brand" product, but it fit our needs exactly. We were planning on buying a double stroller in the future, but figured maybe we can save some of that money/space by buying this stroller, that could function as a single or double full-time stroller. Really love how we can have the bassinet right in front of us while our toddler faces forward. Its built well, intuitive, and really smooth. Didn't seem to be anything else on the market that can do what this stroller does. Love that it fits through doors even when expanded. It takes a lot of space when folded-you will need space in the back! But, I think just about any double stroller would be similar. It's crazy pricy for a stroller, but we ... MY wife and I have been using this stroller every day since we got it. We're constantly on the move and this stroller easily adapts to our type of lifestyle. It's relatively light and flexible when you consider its' size. The ride is pretty comfortable for our baby and what I most like is how "open" it is. It has mesh all around that allow for cool breeze to come in on a hot summer day. It's also very easy to clean which is a plus.
It took me a week or two to figure out completely how to use everything that this stroller offers as a double and single stroller. I have a baby now almost 3 months old and another one almost 18 months old. When the older is at daycare I just change the settings to single and I’m ready to go anywhere. Now I’m excited about an international trip we will have next month and how it will be to check out at the gate. Hoping it will survive to the way they usually handle strollers at the gate.I love the fact that I can use the nuna pipa car seat that I already have and also that I can use the seats facing front or back, depending where we’re going. The long canopy gives a great shade and privacy. The storage bag on the bottom is massive and I can take everything I need ... I refuse to pay $49 for a single cup holder! The security bar is awesome, you can open and close it very easily without having to put away.Everywhere we go we get compliments and lots of questions about this stroller. Hope it lasts like my Nuna Tavo (that I refuse to sell because it’s so great and durable).
My wife and I are expecting our first kids (that's right two) this fall and we are doing research at a maddening pace. Every piece of research and advice points to the Bugaboo 5 Donkey as the Ferrari of strollers. We purchased a travel kit that included the Turtle Air car seats, adapter for the stroller attachment for the car seats, and two bassinets. Upon arrival it came in 5 boxes. It was quite daunting when I couldn't see the front door through the boxes. However, after breaking down the parts in the garage and watching the supplied videos it was a breeze to get together. The bassinet covers were a little bit of a task because they didn't have a Left/Right side label. With a few tries though, they went on easily. We took the stroller for a spin and it was very ... The bassinet covers were a little bit of a task because they didn't have a Left/Right side label. With a few tries though, they went on easily. We took the stroller for a spin and it was very maneuverable. Taking corners in the house like a champ. It did take us removing a bassinet to get it out our front door, but with a stroller made to hold twins, it was a small price to pay.I would recommend the Donkey 5 by Bugaboo to all my friends and neighbors. It might be a little higher in price than the other comps but it is worth every penny. It is easy to put together. Very easy to breakdown into the closet or car. Not to mention for first time parents it made it an easy setup while we are trying to get many different facets of our lives together between working two full time 14 hour days.
We’ve had the Donkey 5 for about 3 months now. It’s everything I hoped for - sturdy, easy to push, smooth glide that can handle some off roading. Quality if superior. There’s tons of storage and the bassinet is great. Only downfall is the safety handle makes it a little tricky to get baby out, but safety first! Would 100% recommend. It’s a great investment and I can see us using the stroller for many years as we expand our family!
We originally had the Fox2 and we loved the maneuverability and seat fabrics on it. When we found out that we were having a second, my wife tasked me with finding a side-by-side stroller. Naturally, I gravitated towards Bugaboo because the Fox 2 had fantastic steering and suspension - it just lacked storage space. The Donkey 5 is a monolith of a stroller, and it doesn't disappoint. We've had people ask us what kind of stroller it was, took some photos; just because it's different than the typical brand that you see families use day-to-day in the states.Donkey 5 Pros:- side by side sibling seating for face-2-face interaction- not as wide as we think, we can still fit through small streets of San Francisco- the frame feels safe and sturdy- no adapters ... Loading the Donkey 5 frame with both seats (or 1 seat and 1 bassinet) takes up 3/4 of the trunk space. Leaving us with barely any room left to store items in the trunk.- The storage space is also difficult to access. When the child is sitting straight up facing the front, it hinders your ability to easily access items. You must recline the child, then attempt to pull items out. On top of the horizontal bar and the seats sitting so low – it’s extremely difficult to pull items out. We found ourselves loading the undercarriage first, followed by clicking the seats on top.- While child(s) are facing forward, the seat does not fully recline for sleeping position. The top of the seat hits the side stroller frame. You can only set the seat to position 1 and 2. Position 3 can only be achieved when the child faces the parent (not away).- There’s not much storage space in duo mode. Coupled with the difficultness of loading/pulling items out + the horizontal bar – it’s been a nightmare for my wife and I. We see others with huge undercarriage baskets and that’s easy to load and access items. Perhaps extending the storage basket further backwards and fill up the sides to give us more storage space?- The color starts to fade. We know this from asking a few Donkey owners in the city. They’ve had their Donkey less than a year but use it frequently. The canopy fabrics and seat fabric fade from the sun.- There’s no suspension like the Fox2. We were spoiled by the Fox2, but the steering just wasn’t quite there for us.All in all, we wanted to Donkey5, but it just fell short for us. We’re glad that there was a 100-day trial/return. If we have a 3rd child and Bugaboo iterates these changes of feature requests – we’d be interested in trying it again. For now, since we sold our Fox2 and travel stroller, we’re going to purchase 2x – Bugaboo Butterflies (and even then I’m seeing reviews of the fabric pilling and fading.
