I bought this pram as it’s the only double that I could find where both seats were next to each other and could parent face and this was an important feature for me. The pram is so easy to put up/put away once you get the jist. At the moment Im using the bassinet and a pram seat and because of this I do have to remove the wheels every time to put it in the car for it to fit in properly which can be a pain. (I do have quite a big car boot!)The pram is light and moves freely, and is comfortable to push however the brake occasionally doesn’t lock when pressed but I can’t see why?The pram is able to fit through most doors when out and about which is something I was concerned might be a problem at first.I upgraded to the classic collection- dark navy fabrics and ... MoreI bought this pram as it’s the only double that I could find where both seats were next to each other and could parent face and this was an important feature for me. I am very disappointed now though that after only three months of use the fabric on the hoods have discoloured/ faded in the daylight and this is obvious when the ventilation pocket at the top is open.

After using a second-hand pram for our first baby, I spent a lot of time looking into double prams when expecting our second baby. The main things I like about this pram are that both children are at the same height, the seats can face forward or backward (which makes our first child much happier in the pram), it has a lot of storage capacity in the basket underneath, and has an extensive and breathable shade cover. We’ve used it a lot in single mode with the side basket (brilliant for grocery and market shopping, but also comfortable for long walks), and it doesn’t feel like you’re manoeuvring a big pram. It’s not as compact as others when folded (e.g. to fit in the car), but if you have enough boot space it’s quick and easy to fold down and put back up. I've had this pram for a couple of months now and we couldn't be happier with it. I've always had my reservations about double prams - especially as I use public transport a lot and live in a busy city. this pram is so accessible, as compact as it can be and perfect for so many terrains. my 3 year old sometimes get tired legs so its perfect to push her side by side with her baby sister, the integrated buggy board makes it easy for her to hop on it when she wants more freedom or not to be sat down - there is also loads of leg room so its super comfortable to push with board attached. It slims down to mono mode in a matter of seconds (literally) and I've had no problem getting it through standard doors or small spaces. The pram is excellent quality and you can tell from a mile off - strangers are always complementing the sleek design but its definitely more than that, it feels incredibly study and is a smooth yet secure push. The breezy mesh addition to the carrycot is also a great feature; it's useful in the winter to prevent stuffiness when baby is wrapped up in the carrycot, and obviously great for essential ventilation when it's hot! This pram is definitely an investment, but in my opinion 100% worth it.

PROS: It's the Cadillac of strollers in terms of build quality and ease of use. Setups, breakdowns, and parts swapping is easy to do. Wheels are solid with great turning and when on the right surface a very smooth ride. Also bought the travel bundle and the car seats are exceptional as well!CONS: VERY LARGE. Does not fit through house doors and takes up a lot of space when not being used. Even when set to singleton and collapsed, it takes up most of our trunk (Nissan Rogue SUV). Bassinets are slightly larger than need be, the canopies catch each other when opening/closing/adding/removing. Not a deal breaker but for the price would expect a smoother experience.
This is a slick stroller! With the arrival of our second child we were in the market for a double stroller that had side by side sitting. After extensive research my husband and I both loved the practicality, function, and look of the donkey 5. After using the stroller for a month now with our newborn and 21 month old we are pleased with the purchase. It easily converts from a single to double in seconds. Fits through doorways perfectly as a double. The stroller rides beautifully and easy to manage when loaded down. It has a higher price tag but there is nothing on the market that can even compare.***My only complaint is the latch to convert from a single to a double on the front of the stroller has come undone from our toddler getting in or out of the stroller a ... MoreThis is a slick stroller! Overall, really great product. My wife and i could care less about having a "name brand" product, but it fit our needs exactly. We were planning on buying a double stroller in the future, but figured maybe we can save some of that money/space by buying this stroller, that could function as a single or double full-time stroller. Really love how we can have the bassinet right in front of us while our toddler faces forward. Its built well, intuitive, and really smooth. Didn't seem to be anything else on the market that can do what this stroller does. Love that it fits through doors even when expanded. It takes a lot of space when folded-you will need space in the back! But, I think just about any double stroller would be similar. It took me a week or two to figure out completely how to use everything that this stroller offers as a double and single stroller. I have a baby now almost 3 months old and another one almost 18 months old. When the older is at daycare I just change the settings to single and I’m ready to go anywhere. Now I’m excited about an international trip we will have next month and how it will be to check out at the gate. Hoping it will survive to the way they usually handle strollers at the gate.I love the fact that I can use the nuna pipa car seat that I already have and also that I can use the seats facing front or back, depending where we’re going. The long canopy gives a great shade and privacy. I refuse to pay $49 for a single cup holder! The security bar is awesome, you can open and close it very easily without having to put away.Everywhere we go we get compliments and lots of questions about this stroller. Hope it lasts like my Nuna Tavo (that I refuse to sell because it’s so great and durable).
I had another very popular stroller brand with my first child, which converts to a 2 child stroller. After researching, I found that the in-line setup isn't the greatest with two children. In comes the donkey. Side by side, as narrow as the other stroller and incredible features. I switched over and never looked back. The donkey is smoother, sturdier and more convenient. The window feature in the bassinet allowed my baby to stay cool and nap while I ran my errands. Initially I was intimidated by the folding of the donkey. Once I got it down, it's a breeze and it fits in the trunk of my sedan. The mono setup with side bag is the best part for me. I take my son shopping and can fit everything in the stroller without having to use a cart. Not to mention the bassinet is sleep safe and I've used the stroller seat as a high chair numerous times. This stroller is an all in one lifesaver. I won't buy another brand ever.
Review strollerI was so torn on which double stroller to get! My wife put me in charge and I am a research guy. I researched every stroller known to man and ended up choosing the Bugaboo Donkey Duo. I normally don’t write reviews, but for this stroller, I HAD to!!First, my wife is impressed with me for choosing this one. She wanted lightweight, still fits through doors, easy to maneuver… but also sturdy, safe, and durable. She told me this type of stroller probably didn’t exist, but I found it :)I do have to say it is a little on the heavier side, but with how easy it is to maneuver, it does not matter at all. Folding it is so easy also, it fits perfect in her huge minivan trunk, but also my small sedan trunk. We have a 22 month old and a newborn and it is so easy to configure with a bassinet and “big girl” seat. When our newborn gets old enough, it will be easy to switch to two toddler seats. I see this stroller as definitely on the more expensive side, but I also see it lasting a very, very long time (unlike our single travel stroller from our 22 month old).Hopefully this helps another parent (and maybe another man tasked with the job make his wife think he’s a genius). Buy the bugaboo donkey duo - trust me, I did all the research!
We originally had the Fox2 and we loved the maneuverability and seat fabrics on it. When we found out that we were having a second, my wife tasked me with finding a side-by-side stroller. Naturally, I gravitated towards Bugaboo because the Fox 2 had fantastic steering and suspension - it just lacked storage space. The Donkey 5 is a monolith of a stroller, and it doesn't disappoint. We've had people ask us what kind of stroller it was, took some photos; just because it's different than the typical brand that you see families use day-to-day in the states.Donkey 5 Pros:- side by side sibling seating for face-2-face interaction- not as wide as we think, we can still fit through small streets of San Francisco- the frame feels safe and sturdy- no adapters ... MoreWe originally had the Fox2 and we loved the maneuverability and seat fabrics on it. Loading the Donkey 5 frame with both seats (or 1 seat and 1 bassinet) takes up 3/4 of the trunk space. Leaving us with barely any room left to store items in the trunk.- The storage space is also difficult to access. When the child is sitting straight up facing the front, it hinders your ability to easily access items. You must recline the child, then attempt to pull items out. On top of the horizontal bar and the seats sitting so low – it’s extremely difficult to pull items out. We found ourselves loading the undercarriage first, followed by clicking the seats on top.- While child(s) are facing forward, the seat does not fully recline for sleeping position. The top of the seat hits the side stroller frame. You can only set the seat to position 1 and 2. Position 3 can only be achieved when the child faces the parent (not away).- There’s not much storage space in duo mode. Coupled with the difficultness of loading/pulling items out + the horizontal bar – it’s been a nightmare for my wife and I. We see others with huge undercarriage baskets and that’s easy to load and access items. Perhaps extending the storage basket further backwards and fill up the sides to give us more storage space?- The color starts to fade. We know this from asking a few Donkey owners in the city. They’ve had their Donkey less than a year but use it frequently. The canopy fabrics and seat fabric fade from the sun.- There’s no suspension like the Fox2. We were spoiled by the Fox2, but the steering just wasn’t quite there for us.All in all, we wanted to Donkey5, but it just fell short for us. We’re glad that there was a 100-day trial/return. If we have a 3rd child and Bugaboo iterates these changes of feature requests – we’d be interested in trying it again. For now, since we sold our Fox2 and travel stroller, we’re going to purchase 2x – Bugaboo Butterflies (and even then I’m seeing reviews of the fabric pilling and fading.
