This is a good option for young babies for when they are learning to sit up. On the plus side it helps to sit up and has a strap so they cannot fall out however the down side is this model does not have an option to clip to a chair and also after not long my babies legs were white chubby and so seemed to outgrow where the legs go in comparison to another branded chair which came with a removal insert which seemed to last a little longer. That said this is still a reasonable option but would recommend buying the version that comes with the tray so that it can be used during the start of weaning as an alternative to a high chair

Pros: easy to clean, lightweight, minimalistic appearance. Some models come with a snack tray. Cons: These are not recommended by physical therapists as they aren’t great for hip development. Not great for chunky thighs. Ultimately, it’s up to parents. But there are better alternatives to Bumbo.

If your kid is big/strong/old enough to flip out of a Bumbo, chances are the whole seat will tip and the belt won't do any good. Plus, I imagine it makes the seat harder to clean. I did not ever leave them unattended in these scenarios. My middle son was also freakishly strong from birth and hit his motor milestones early and learned to arch his back and flip out of the seat around five months old, so I quit using it on raised surfaces. It was kind of a neat party trick after that to watch him roll himself out onto a blanket on the floor.I'm also not a fan of the "baby bucket" carseat and have used convertible, but it meant having to get creative a lot of the time, like when we went to restaurants. Before they could sit up in the wooden restaurant high chair, we would just bring the Bumbo and sit it in the booth with us (or, admittedly, on the table if there was enough space). We've used the Bumbo virtually anywhere and everywhere, within reason. Keep in mind the seat says it’s for 3-12 month babies. Sit them down when they’re getting ready to sit down on their own. Also everyone must know to not keep them in there the whole day. Safety first and babies are very fragile. This seat is really good for babies learning to sit. My 3 month old is already showing signs. The seat is at an ok price but it lasts a long time. I used it for my son and now for my new baby. It doesn’t budge from the floor.
Works really well for when I have to do something like dishes or cook and I can sit my baby in it. He does really well in it. It’s easy to pick up and take with us to the grandparents as it doesn’t weigh too much. My only issue is my baby is 16 pounds and I don’t think he’ll fit in it as he keeps growing. It’s already a little snug. Also wish I had an option to remove the seatbelt. Gets in the way.
I love these seats. I had one for my first born (16 years ago!) and used it all the time. Now with my second born, I knew I had to get another.My only complaint about the newer version is the seatbelt (the older version didn't have one). I know it's now necessary due to new safety standards, but I find it gets in the way and is kind of hard to get out from under baby's butt once you slide them in. But this wont stop me using it or recommending it to anyone else!
I definitely love that they have straps now, but it is hard to find and grab the middle strap while putting baby in. I can tell the quality isn’t the same as it use to be also. The material seems like it could crack or tear easier and the color might scratch off. My old bumbos don’t look like they were painted like the new ones do. I just wish quality didn’t have to go down, but I still love the bumbos.
My baby brother had one of these that he LOVED at 3-4 months, so naturally I get one for my baby hoping we would have the same experience. He looks so uncomfortable in this seat. Not only is he too tall for the “back and neck support”, but the leg holes are too small! He is 13 lbs and 21 inches. It honestly depends on your baby! My baby brother was a smaller baby and it was perfect for him, but if you do not have a small baby, I do not recommend this product. I am very disappointed that it’s so small when it is marketed towards babies that are in his age range. Also, I don’t understand the point of the buckles. They don’t offer any extra support than the seat does, and they honestly get in the way, especially the buckle in between the legs.
