This boot is so responsive its like cheating. I am a fan of stiff boots having rode with the all leather ions before, but this boot hugs my foot perfectly with the double ion system and is a joy to carve on. I hiked up to the top of Jupiter Peak and they were comfortable walking up the steep grade. I recommend getting the liner heat molded, as the break in time for these boots was about 3 days of riding.Highly Recommend.

The design/fit is fantastic, but this is the worst quality booth I have ever experienced, After just one single season, they are completely falling apart. Not just worn in one spot, seams splitting and inner booth just dissolving. In my 25 years of snowboarding, never experienced anything this poor, If you plan on using them more than 10 days total AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Headed to Evo Seattle-bought first pair of Ions with custom footbeds which didn't workout- footbeds began peeling apart an at the end of the day boot size was wrong also.Drew sales rep was super knowledgeable and helped find the right boot an made some new custom footbeds at no charge. Fantastic customer service - and amazing new comfy boots. Evo is def go to company for gear an service ! Can't beat the Burton Ions either

I just ordered these boots, haven't had them long enough to try but I did try them on and from what I know over my years of writing these things look incredible and I can't wait to get them on the snow. I'll put them through the ringer this year and I'm confident they will have no problems holding up with these.Shipping was crazy fast, always a positive buying experience with moosejaw.
These are the most comfortable boots I have worn in the last three years. It was well worth the price and I recommend this to anybody I ski and Killington in the East Coast and looking forward to Park city for a couple weeks with my new board and bindings.
I love the fine tuning of the dual boa system. When one of the boots seems a little tight during riding, I can pop one or both of the knobs, move my foot to reduce lacing tension then push the knob/s back in. The ease of putting these boots on and off is quick and simple with the boa system. Inner bladder locks in the heal really nice. I wear size 12 Merrell hikers and the size 12 Ion fits good. Minimal rub on tip of big toe but I'm sure it will pack out late in the season. Minimal footprint...I ride a wide board and there is no noticeable toe or heal drag. On a stiffness scale, I give it. 7 1/2. Great for aggressive speed and carving. Probably not good for the parks.
The Burton Ion (double) BOA is such a masterpiece, the form, shape and material is top notch . I bought these boots in combination with the Flow NX2 binding. They are a match made in heaven. With a flex (stiffness) 8 i had imagined that i may get sore feet,. not the case, cosy warm with my Stance Merino's and no pressure points to complain about (cutting your toenails always helps too)My knees are shot and now a days I just need more support than back when I was a young Joey. I have the stability of an elephant and the weight of a cheetah. I tested these babies in the snow (I reckon they could work for sandboarding but are a bit pricey for those shananigans). It was a clear black night, a clear white moon , just kidding it was a sunny day and the snow was fresh, no ... MoreThe Burton Ion (double) BOA is such a masterpiece, the form, shape and material is top notch . There isnt much to dislike about these, possibly that the are'nt more colorways.Burton makes good shit and that is it.
Burton knowingly still sells this boot and won’t cover the warranty pledge. Major design flaw on the EXPOSED TOE CAP STITCHING. Warranty claims determine it is a design flaw but won’t honor warranty service. Very expensive boot that will break in just the amount of time the warranty expires. No accountability from Burton on this design flaw.
I've ridden them 3 days and they're starting to feel broken in, but they are very uncomfortable still. There are pretty harsh pressure points from the liners on the insides of the ankles. And for being so uncomfortable, they're not that stiff. I read a 7.5 stiffness rating somewhere, but I'd say they're more like a 6.My last boot, the Ride Fuses, felt like they had much more control and stiffness despite a lower stiffness rating (7). (I'll note that the ride Fuses are extremely uncomfortable and cause a lot of numbness, so the Burtons are a huge step up in comfort). On the plus side, the boas are nice and convenient. The traction on the soles is excellent. And these boots go on and come off quite easily.
I rode my 2023 ions for a few days before stitching started failing. I reinforced the stitching with shoe goo but after less than a season, they are falling apart. Burton won’t warranty them because some of the stitching failure is from binding contact. These are the most expensive and least durable boots I’ve ever owned. If you don’t want to waste your money, go with something different.
