My right foot plastic plate below the gas pedal wasn’t holding the gas pad securely. I call Burton, No Problem they said. A few days later I got plates and pads in the mail for L & R. Burton’s customer is service is 2nd to None!! Installed on Arbor snowboards, I use the Standard step on Flex version for my powder board, Comfy Genesis version for my Park and play board and The Non-Flex X for my charging through trees and flying down the mountain board.

They’re beyond impressive. Heard mixed reviews prior to purchase about boot fit and responsiveness. They’re more responsive than regular bindings. Obvi easy to click in n quick. I’ve used the, on approximately 10 trips so it’s a in depth review. Of he bindings and boots. Use DC boots for the comfort and stiffness. I used the DC step on boots and don’t regret the change. It’ll give you the best performance, comfort, and responsiveness with the step one. Makes me curious to see how the low backs compare to these already Impressive bindings. You’ll be down the mountain while others are still binding up.

Paired these with some DC judge Step-on boots. What a game changer. The control is like nothing else. They do not move as much as a conventional binding so the response is immediate. I also noticed that I don't get near as many and not any shin splint feelings. I used to get those a lot more on the old style bindings. Getting in and out is a no -brainer as well. Quick and if you ride with other people who strap in you will be waiting. Been riding for 25+ years and these are the best binding and boot system yet.

Functional and Secure

Got the Large for size 12 (Men's), paired them with the Burton Photon Step On Boots. I boarded for a week in Jackson Hole with my wife's family (all skiers), and the bindings were a game-changer. Line up the heel, and everything else falls into place. No more passive-aggressive looks from waiting skiers at the top of a run, just click and go. No audible chatter, like with the previous model, and they never once came undone mid-run or felt less than totally solid. Turning was as good or better than with my previous bindings ('19-20 Burton Custom EST).

Game Changer!
26 January 2022

I've been snowboarding a few times each season for 20+ years and these bindings are a game changer for me. I'm in my mid-40s and was starting to question how much longer I'd be able to snowboard but the ease of getting in and out of these step on bindings made a huge difference. Now I just stomp my foot down to get in or pull a lever and twist my foot to get out.I was also worried about how they would hold up, I'm a big guy (6'6 285lbs) and they felt better than the strap-on bindings. No hot spots or constantly re-tightening or loosening straps and they didn't feel loose or overly flexible and didn't once come loose or come unsnapped even through a couple crashes. Now, I'm not doing jumps or tricks and I didn't try them in 12" of fresh powder, but given my weight ... MoreI've been snowboarding a few times each season for 20+ years and these bindings are a game changer for me. Now, I'm not doing jumps or tricks and I didn't try them in 12" of fresh powder, but given my weight and the size of my board, I get going faster than just about anyone on the mountain and these held up great.I also got the Burton Photon Wide Step-on Boots (the ones with the strap) and those were great. Lastly, make sure you pay attention to the size of the binding, since they're designed to work with a specific size range of boots with no overlap. I almost ordered an XL out of habit and thankfully saw someone reference the size chart and ordered a L to go with my size 13 boots.

I can't stop recommending these to people...

... when they ask me about them.I've been out 5 days with these so far, along with the Ruler Step-Ons and I think they are beyond fantastic. The setup is lighter without straps. The board feels more responsive to my foot input. I can get into them immediately, there is so much more time for runs w/o having to strap in. If I hit a flat spot, instead of skating over, I just reflexively step out of my lead foot and walk, because getting in is so quick. Saves my knees too. It's literally a joy to ride with these step ins. Not a single con, so far.

Overall Review

I've gotten over 50 days now with these bindings and I can't say one bad thing about them! Clicking in and out is extremely easy. The bindings feel even more responsive than any other pair of bindings i've ever ridden. Your toes being connected directly to the bindings add a different level of response, something extremely fast and reactive to your movements. No straps mean no play or give. Powder days have become easier now! There hasn't been a time even with a 18 inch pow day that these bindings haven't been a breeze to step into. Countless of crashes in the park and the steeps and not once have I felt unsafe or close to popping out. Overall if you're looking for a pair of bindings that will work exactly as well as your previous pair with the added convenience of ... MoreI've gotten over 50 days now with these bindings and I can't say one bad thing about them! REI is Awesome! But Stepon is Over Rated

REI delivered this product smoothly, solid as always.By now, I have a a few days on this bindings and the ION boots (both purchased from REI). I have to be fair that I am still learning to get on and off the bindings. Although, I don't think I will be able to just jump on and hop off the bindings!Stepping into the bindings are easy, ONLY on a flat ground. The truth is, there is not that many flat spots on the mountain, so you have to be creative to create/find a level enough spot to complete the step-in action. This can be challenging on a double-black hill. So my advise is that: don't ever fall :)Burton brags about how EASY is it to step in. BUT it's NOT easy to step out!! If this whole action is not done clearly, you foot can get stuck in the binding and it becomes frustrating difficult to get off. Perhaps I still need to learn more.Step-ins can be easier to get in (Although usually not much faster than skiers); but it's much more awkward to get out from. This fact alone makes it extremely useless. Not to mention the high price tags and limited options.All-in-all, I will just using this bindings and boots. Perhaps they will earn my heart over time. We will see.

Secure, comfortable and easy to use
26 April 2023

I'm in my 35th season of snowboarding and have ridden all sorts of bindings. I started out many years ago and learned in hard shells with plate bindings. Most of my friends were riding with straps and I found it clumsy and a waste of time even back then. Every time I used bindings with straps it felt uncomfortable and clumsy to me. When the Switch autolock system came out I switched to them and rode that way for a good 25 years. I've always loved the simple step in and go and loved the simplicity of the Switch system. I've finally worn out all the boots I've been able to buy over the years and since there's nothing made anymore had to upgrade to a newer system. I choose the Burton system after looking at what is out there and am totally pleased with that decision. ... MoreI'm in my 35th season of snowboarding and have ridden all sorts of bindings. I've ridden on groomers, pow, crud and everything in between and love this setup (sorry not a park guy). I paired these bindings with the Nitro compatible boot and love how comfortable the setup is. The edge to edge control is fantastic and you really do feel locked into the board with how this step in is setup. I'm now 71 years old and have no issues getting into the bindings anywhere on the mountain, the step in is super simple and easy. Getting out is a little trickier but once you do it a few times, not a big deal. I've got nothing but good vibes from this setup and it makes it super easy for me to go enjoy the sport I still love. Highly recommend these bindings!

Love them! Very easy to get in and out of. They are totally responsive. I've had 2 other types of step in bindings, and hated them, but these are awesome. Only thing is I like color and Burton doesn't offer many cool colors for women! I had a pair of turquoise escapade bindings with matching sapphire turquoise boots(11 years old). The only colored ones they I had this year were sold out everywhere I looked on the internet, so it should tell them something and including the boots. I highly recommend the site on escalade bindings, but I'm going to paint these!
