Avoid till they figure out highbacks

I got these bindings after avoiding for decades any step-in and quick in/out system for fear of how they'll work and what the reliability of them would be. 9 days on these and I am already regretting getting them. The "hammock" on the highback is held on with a flimsy rivet that after a few days on the mountain busted leaving it to flop around and fall out. I contacted Burton support assuming they'd fix it under warranty and the response was they've "seen an uptick in issues with the rivet in the highbacks" but said no replacements were available and recommended I just go to a shop to get it somehow re-riveted.I'm a fan of the form factor and the responsiveness of the binding, and loved them up until they broke. Now my biggest fear is setting in that I dropped cash on a product that won't hold up like my previous Ride bindings did (still going strong 13 years later). Makes me worried about the other wear parts on the binding like the actual latches in the heel/toe.Until they get a better form factor I'd avoid these and maybe even hold off on the Step Ons till Burton can get some more reliable products on the market.

Great edge to edge control. Convenience is unmatched. High back hammock smooths out the roughness. Don't miss strap bindings at all. Paired this the photon boot. Ordered the large for a size 12. On a wide burton custom. Can't imagine using straps again.

Good binding - no big difference to the standard version

I upgraded from the 2021 standard version to the 2022 Genesis version. The Binding feels great but I did not notice a big difference compared to the standard version in terms of comfort or response. In terms of feature request, pls. add a lever on both sides (outer and inner side) of the heel cup for better access, i.e. in Powder.

Loving the new Genesis Step-on
20 December 2021

Coming from the original Step-on, the Genesis is a big improvement. The high back basket does give a bit of cushioning on my hillside turns. It feels like it has a little bit more responsiveness compared to the original Step-on. Clicking in and releasing from the binding is smoother. That clicking sound while riding is completely gone. Bottom line is this binding system was a smart investment and upgrade.

No more clicking! + Increased comfort
6 January 2022

Great upgrade against the 2021 StepOn bindings! I faced the clicking issue on the previous version but the updated 2022 has completely solved it with the new toe clips! The suspensions provides a nice flex to improve comfort for all mountain riding!

Really like them coming from traditional bindings
2 January 2023

It's so satisfying about being able to click in and ride off so quickly. I was nervous after hearing Burton's new plastic toe hooks breaking but they seem sturdy to me. Time will tell. But these are responsive and comfortable. The hammock on the genesis keeps calf bite down considerably.

Save time and energy
7 March 2023

I went from flow bindings to these and would never go back. It's as simple as the name just "step on" and starting riding. Control of the board is not sacrificed. The base plate has good shock absorption so hitting jumps isn't an issue. In and out of the binding in under 5 seconds.

Unconventional use for these, Surpassed expectations
10 October 2022

I know this isn't the attended use, but took them to Great Sand Dunes in Colorado. Sand surf for like 3 hours they held up great even being pulled behind a dune buggy. Never came out of the bindings, they held. I will be using these on the snow once resorts open. These are so much easier to use then strap binds. Super responsive on sand, snow should be even easier to get edge to edge.

Worth every penny! Left my friends in the dust!(or powder)
13 January 2023

these were worth every penny and worked great combined with the photons I bought. Click, click and I could leave my friends in the dust(or powder I guess). Took only 5 seconds to strap in each time and didn't have to bend over or sit down every time I wanted to strap in
