This hand salve is a true lifesaver and miracle worker for dry hands. I am working a lot with my hands doing yard work and woodwork and my hands are especially dry during the winter season. This hand salve is quite oily and because of it I use it mostly overnight but my hands are so much better in the morning. It speeds up the healing process. It smells nice and the tin packaging holds up well. Do your dry and cracked hands a favor and buy this! The price is great too! I have tried other products that are way more expensive but did not work as well.

I had heard good things about Burt’ Bees , and I tried this product in this past winter , when my hands skin were particularly dry. With soft texture , such a lovely scent ( lavender) , it actually soaked in pretty fast, leaves my hands feeling really soft,moisturized and cared . It’s great for nails and cuticles too. Love this …the size of the tin , handy for pockets and purse , perfect for taking on the go . I will definitely be repurchasing this product.

I keep this in my work locker at all times. It’s great for conditioning my cuticles. It is thick! But I love that cause it hydrates the hands. I also use it on my heels because they are also extremely dry, it does take a second to absorb because it is thick. I don’t find that it has a scent therefore it should work for even the most sensitive smells. Easy to place in your purse or any small bag. I sometimes keep one in the car as well and also good for travel.

I love the scent of this, always love anything lavender. And the scent lasts for a while. When you first got to use this you will have to break through the top layer. It’s a bit of a hard waxy layer on top. But once that’s done it’s a bit softer underneath. This feels greasy until it’s absorbed, which takes some time, about 5-10 to fully absorb. But once it does it leaves you hands soft and smooth. It’s very hydrating, and leaves a barrier on your hands. I prefer to use this at night because of how long it takes to absorb. But it’s definitely worth it. My hands have never felt better.

... a REAL skin saver....

I don't always wear protective gloves when working in the shop or in flower beds. The feel of rich 'dirt' feels good in my hands but also extracts the protective oils from my skin. Sound familiar? For over five (5) years, I've faithfully used Burt's Bees 'Hand Salve' to restore parched skin to normal. I keep a 3 oz. tin in the garage, another in the shop and a third in the garden shed....all within easy reach while working and after hours of in the muck. I took a long cycling holiday in France this year with very little space for creams and moisturisers. So, I took one tin of this lovely hand salve which, up until now, I had only used on my hands. During the time I have been away this salve has served as face and body moisturiser, a balm for saddle sore, a lip balm and to keep my hair moisturised in the sun (disclaimer- I have very thick curly hair, so this probably be to heavy for usual hair types). After three weeks I still have some left and have had so many lovely compliments about my plump skin and shiny hair, I will continue to use the salve in this way. I almost forgot to mention one of the most amazing applications of the salve was in place of chain oil. Definitely worth it if you’re looking for something stronger than a lotion !

This salve definitely has a different formulation than a hand lotion so I’d say don’t treat it as a hand cream you’d apply before working/getting hands on. If your lifestyle causes dry hands/peeling skin(as mine does), this product really helps seal in moisture!!It has a petroleum jelly like consistency which is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I wanted something that would ‘slick’(?) my hands and imbue it with 10x more moisture than a regular hand cream. This did exactly that. If you want something to slather on your hands, then let this salve work its reparative powers! Note: In my case, the ‘slick’ layer on my hands after applying the salve would only last 20min so I would usually apply it before bed. Hope this helped :)

STICK WITH IT!

I have what I believe is eczema on my palms for the past year. No matter what Im doing in my job, I work maintenance, taking vacation and not working with my hands it never truly got better. Super dry, cracked and bleeding palms.Haven't tried eveything but have tried Cerave, Working Hands and Gold Bond Medicated. Even just Neosporin. Nothing seemed to truly work and if I didnt put it on for a day my hand is drier than nothing at all for a while.It is very oily initially and it doesn't even seem like it softens right when putting it on like lotions. Lotions are mostly water.But after 3 days, there has been more healing than anything else. I really wish I had the before picture. Soothing for dry cracked hands

I purchased a small tin of this which came along with a holiday flavor lip balm. It's a great scent, smells of oregano and rosemary. You have to really like herbaceous scents however, because the scent is very strong. It absorbs well into my hands which were in bad shape with peeling and fissures. It is also very soothing to painful dry skin.

I frequently wash my hands multiple times a day every single day. More so in the last few years working in healthcare. I have always had super dry skin (ichthyosis) and I keep a tin of this everywhere (office desk, purse, bedside, by the sink, etc.). This has prevented my skin from cracking. It has a nice scent that is not overpowering. My coworkers are now using them as they see this tin in my scrub pockets. Excellent product!
