Just returned from my first hog hunti using this monocular and can’t say enough good things about it for the price! Clear night vision up to 200 yards. Easy to use and I took still photos and videos to share and save. Would highly recommend.

Just returned from my first hog hunti using this monocular and can’t say enough good things about it for the price! Clear night vision up to 200 yards. Easy to use and I took still photos and videos to share and save. Would highly recommend.
So far, it is working Great. I'm pleased. Despite what another reviewer wrote, the manual is available at the Bushnell site. Just go to the site, in its search bar, type in Equinox X650, hit search and when it brings up the unit, scroll to the bottom of page and it has tab to download the manual there.
I bought this and another night vision monocular to take hunting, easier to track at night to make sure you don't spook the deer while getting in position. This didn't make it very far past the car. It's an active night vision system which means it needs to go through video to use versus a passive system. Night display is black and white which isn't ideal. One star because it will only work if the IR light is transmitted on an object in the FOV. For practical purposes outdoors this system fails to work for any reasonable distance beyond 20yd. Bushnell says up to 100yd, I'd venture to say no. So the black/white night vision is also a negative, too bright a display flashed out the rhodopsin in your eye at night and negates your physiological night vision. Just purchased Equinox X650 at Bass Pro Fishing Fair. Not the same as box/manual.Only zoom to 3x.No "Gallery" screen to review jpg.No true daylight color.Brightness adjustment does not have day and night separate adjustments.Overall seems like wrong/old software that does not equal downloaded Manual.
I received the unit today and was excited to get it. I wanted to use it tonight. Unfortunately, that won't happen. The unit is pretty. The write up in Bass Pro said it would do all I wanted at a reasonable price. The delivery was super timely. BUT--- THERE WERE NO OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED. The note in the box said if you want an instruction manual to either go to the website or call an 800 number. I went to the website, and there was no instruction manual for an Equinox x650 there. I telephoned the 800 number and got a recording with NO MENTION of an instruction manual. This does me no good. I plan on returning this to Bass Pro and getting my money back. I also plan on informing them of Bushnell's non-customer service.
I am 60 years old and never in my life have I purchased anything that did not come with an instruction manual inside the box , when I read that you have to go online and download the instruction manual is beyond belief. Not very handy when you’re in the field and you may have to look up the instructions for something that you may use once a year.
I have had the monocular a few days and taken it out and worked with it several times. I found the owner's manual on the Bushnell website just like they said I would- and it was quite helpful. The controls are not intuitive to me- but they are workable, simple enough- but the manual was needed for some functions. The image quality at night is outstanding- especially considering the price. The daylight images remind me to use regular binocular or monocular instead. The photos and videos are good quality and these features are easy to use. The size and weight are OK- but again, for this price you shouldn't be complaining about size and weight- it's pretty good. The best thing is it is quiet- makes no sound. FORTUNATELY this unit has a small light... Not really but the display is so bright you can turn it around and use it for one. It actually hurts my eye to use it for more than a few minutes. So really, you can't walk around with it (because you can't see up close) and you can't sit there and hunt for hours with it (because it's too bright). Does anyone in upper management even try to use this thing for an outdoor purpose? It's almost useless. Oh well, cool toy I guess but it needs to be discontinued or improved.
