Affordable, moisturising, but it pills!

It’s moisturising and great for those with normal to dry/very dry skin type. Reminds me of the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula lotion but without the coco smell. Great buy when on sale. The only downside is that if you apply a little extra it starts to pill very badly. I love to layer a very thick amount as my skin is very dry so it’s very frustrating that it does that. Also, it did not aggravate my eczema which is a plus point! It does not contain fragrance/parfum, essential oils or denat alcohol which is great, and so those with sensitive and/or dry skin types can definitely give this a try. Would have been great to have included Hylaronic Acid (HA) in this formula. It has glycerin which is a good humectant. Great ingredients like Niacinamide and Panthenol but probably only contains 1% or less as it’s further down on the inkey list. I would suggest using a serum which contains HA first before using this cream to trap water in the skin as you want to attract water to the skin to ensure it’s hydrated and feeling plumped. Then you want to use the cream to hydrate and trap the moisture. Perfect for day & night use but some may find it heavy as a day moisturiser. Packaging is ok but would have been great in a pump bottle so it does not get exposed to air and does not get contaminated. Would love to see this in a tube/pump packaging and available in bigger sizes.

But this has definitely changed my skin so much.I apply it on top of my Bare Minerals face serum - another life saver that I've only just found out about! And even at about 1pm I touch my face and can still feel that it's soft and moisturised. I've never had that before. It's absolutely amazing. It doesn't irritate me or sting when applying (even the Liz Earle one stings sometimes when applying). It's super cheap for what it actually is, please don't change that!My skin isn't that dry anymore, it's healing well when I do have a bit of a flare up and I just love the moisturiser so much, I definitely couldn't be without it now. I wish I'd found it a lot earlier.I was definitely skeptical as Beauty Bay isn't really a well known brand at all yet compared to companies like Liz Earle, etc. But I'm so glad I tried it. I'm a customer for life!

I know a lot of people complain about how heavy this is, but it's amazing for me. I have really dry patches on my face while the rest is oily and I use this at night. I wake up with nice, hydrated skin and it doesn't feel too oily. On very dry winter days I also use this during the day just to prevent my face from drying out. It gives my face a bit of a shine but nothing too bad. Smell is a bit weird but nothing you can't get used to and it dissipates after you put it on your face.I just ordered a new tub because I don't want to run out. I wish they had more oat products, to be honest. I would probably buy them all, especially anything that would be a little lighter for the summer.

My holy grail moisturiser after years of searching
13 September 2022

My skin is combination (much drier in the winter), sensitive, acne prone and eczema prone. For so long I've been looking for a moisturiser which really keeps the skin hydrated and also has good ingredients that don't irritate my skin. Before this, I had been using the Aveeno Oat Gel Moisturiser. I really liked the product, but it was just so expensive (£11.59 for 50ml) that I found myself rationing it and not using as much as I wanted to.As my skin seemed to like the oats, I started looking for similar products and eventually found this. I ran the ingredients list through an ingredient checker to see a breakdown of the ingredients and decided it looked good for me, so I bought it and... wow!The product feels luxurious to apply and keeps my skin hydrated all ... MoreMy skin is combination (much drier in the winter), sensitive, acne prone and eczema prone. For so long I've been looking for a moisturiser which really keeps the skin hydrated and also has good ingredients that don't irritate my skin. Before this, I had been using the Aveeno Oat Gel Moisturiser. And you get so much for the price that I feel no guilt in using as much as I need to use.You can use a little or a lot. I tend to use a bit more at night to give my skin a boost, but less I'm the morning so I don't look too shiny, and it just gives a natural glow. That being said, makeup applies really well over it too.I think at one point I became a bit too overenthusiastic and applied so much that it did start to pull a little bit. But I stopped using quite so much and it hasn't happened since.I'm coming to the end of my first pot and am about to stock up on two more.I cannot rave about this product enough!

No more wasting money on expensive brands!
7 February 2022

My grandma used to have a saying about moisturisers: 'They're all just cold cream!" The point is, you can pay a lot for expensive brands but the product can be just as good in different packaging. This is an example and I'm really happy with it. At age 49 my skin can be very dry but I'm also prone to breakouts. I love this moisturiser because I don't need to reapply it 5 minutes' after it's gone on, unlike some moisturisers which are too water-based. Very happy not to be spending £60 a pop any more on my old previous moisturiser! The only thing that annoys me (and it's a minor point) is the use of the word 'boujee' on the packaging... but that's just me showing my age!!!!

Seriously good bang for your buck

This is surprisingly nice! I have dry, very acne-prone skin so it's really difficult to find a product that is moisturising enough for my skin without aggravating my acne any further but this is one moisturiser that always seems to work. It's soothing and whilst I know the niacinamide definitely isn't at a high enough concentration to be making a huge difference to my skin I do like to think it's providing my skin with some nice antioxidants at the very leasr. It's not always enough on its own (so maybe is best suited for those with combination skin) and during the winter I sometimes have to follow it up with a little vaseline, but I do find it works very nicely during the day under my sunscreen. Solid, all-around good affordable moisturiser
28 March 2021

I have normal, leaning slightly dry skin (not producing much oil by itself). My skin concerns are sensitivity and tendency to dehydration.I cannot stress how good I think this is. I don't mind splurging on good quality skincare, but I always feel a bit reluctant to invest in a moisturiser because I always feel like it doesn't need a fancy formulation to be effective. And this is probably why I love how this moisturiser: its simplicity without sacrificing effectiveness and its borderline ridiculous affordability.I find the formula thick enough to be used at night but lightweight enough to be used in the morning as an oilier, more glowy and hydrating moisturiser. I really enjoy oat as an ingredient in it as it is perfect to sooth skin, combined with niacinamide, this makes a very good all-rounder moisturiser with a lot of versatility on how you can use it. You really get a lot of product for such a small price tag, it doesn't have any fragrance which is great for my sensitive skin, and yet the oats give this a nice, porridgy smell which I do enjoy. It might not be to everyone's taste, but I don't think anyone would find it particularly unpleasant, but maybe because I choose my skincare to be fragrance-free.Please Beauty Bay, keep this fragrance-free because it's currently the only solid moisturiser that I know I can go back to without any irritation or issues!

I love this product! Hear me out, I have rocasea and perioral dermatitis and my skin is mega sensitive and dry and up till now I had been using a moisturiser from a very popular (and quite expensive) skincare brand which I loved but no so much how it made my skin feel heavy. This moisturiser from Beauty Bay as not only affordable (big yes from me) but also insanely hydrating and non irritating on my skin (and that is saying a lot since my skin gets crazy even from the smallest dust particle lol). Unexpected star

This moisteriser is BRILLIANT! it makes my skin so soft, it is slowly clearing up or massively helping the dry patches, and it does not make me break out at all. It does, like cerave, leave a strange pilling film on your face if you apply too much of it, but that is easy to get around by just not applying a lot. It warms up on your face and spreads like a dream, if you get the 2x pack like i did, it will last you AGES! Just use a little bit, and even that will be enough to help. I have to stop myself from using it on my body because it makes my skin so smooth. i can't recommend it enough.

best moisturiser ive ever used
11 August 2023

So i have very dry skin. I am less dry in my t zone but my cheek area is always slightly rough. Nothing has really helped with it, exfoliation is a temporary fix but this so far from 2 days of use i can say that this moisturiser is amazing and i saw immediate results once i put it on. Every other moisturiser just sits on top of the dry areas, and fails to solve the dry patch problem even when absorbed, but this moisturiser literally soaked straight into my skin, i kept reapplying over a day or 2 and my dry patches are soooo much better. Im sure with continuous use it will eliminate the problem! It also gives my cheekbones a dewy sheen, without being heavy at all on the skin!
