I received a sample of this and was excited to try it out. A scent created in celebration of life, De Los Santos incants memories and acknowledges the fleeting. An aromatic cloud of musk is pierced by the clarity of sage. The splendor of amber and incense is grounded by iris root and mirabelle. However, I believe it is too strong for my taste. It lasted long and would be a good choice for ppl who like woody scents.

I recently bought Gypsy Water blind but was convinced I'd like to due to all the hype, but unfortunately I find it pretty run of the mill and it has terrible lasting power. I received this perfume as a sample with a recent order and wow, I love it - it's super unique and lasts much better. Although it has faded significantly a couple of hours later. It smells really cosy to me, but still very feminine and reminds me a little of Santal 33 by Le Labo. I've seen others describe it as a holiday scent, but I'd describe it as a city scent personally. I recommend giving it a spray yourself as it seems to be a bit of a polarising scent, but I've added it to my wishlist.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this release and was about to blind buy online. I’m glad I waited to sample first. I enjoy a good woody fragrance so the Palo Santo was promising, but there is a dominant minty note that ruins it for me. Imagine Le Labo’s Santal 33 diluted to quarter strength combined with Diptique’s Eau Minthe. It’s far more masculine than I was expecting too. What seemed like a very promising and unique scent is actually a complete disaster for my taste.I completely disagree with the other review that references Baccarat Rouge. Where Baccarat Rouge has a cult following and is hugely successful for the MFK line, De Los Santos is the niche-est of Byredo’s offerings to date. If you like it, I would say grab a bottle fast. I smelt this fragrance in-store for the first time today and I'm quite taken with it's complexity and range. By the sounds of the notes, I was already intrigued however De Los Santos has that unique je ne sais quoi that only a few luxury fragrances share. It's warm, sexy and inviting but also extremely bold and robust. It reminds me of an updated, more modern version of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, yet it feels more feminine, even though it certainly sits on the uni-sexed side as far as fragrances go. Once all the smokey, musk notes die down you're left with this beautiful nostalgic scent that reminds me of warm brandy. It's a very date-night to night out with the girls type fragrance. It's so compelling I can see it being the type of scent that strangers are going ... MoreI smelt this fragrance in-store for the first time today and I'm quite taken with it's complexity and range. It's so compelling I can see it being the type of scent that strangers are going to ask "What you're wearing?". It might be to early to claim this but I predict that De Los Santos is going to be the next Baccarat Rouge 540 (with the same push from Mecca that Baccarat received) It's definitely not a fragrance for the faint hearted, but those of us who like our scents audacious this ones for you. I'll be adding to cart immediately.
First of all, I love Byredo perfumes. They generally last really well and have a unique scent. This is no exception. It’s not too heavy and is not overpowering. Just a unique scent that makes people say how nice you smell. I generally do not like floral / rose scents but clean fresh smells which is what this is. My only comment is it would be good for Space NK to offer testers as it’s an expensive outlay not to like it.
On my skin this comes off slightly more sour than the original right up front, but that calms down fairly quickly. The dry is slightly more powdery, which I kind of like. It’s about 95% similar. Overall I love it. And it lasts longer. Win! 1000% worth it. Love this company!
I received this scent as part of a Byredo sample. This scent is quite strong and long lasting. To me it starts with herbal notes of clary sage, rosemary and mint. Which seems an odd combination for a personal fragrance.Once the scent dries down it becomes this musky/floral, almost skin-like scent. I get a woody floral type of fragrance after 2-3 hours which resembles something like Iris.Overall it’s an intriguing fragrance that leaves me smelling my wrists on occasion and pondering on whether I like it or not. I don’t think I’d buy a full bottle though!
This smells amazing. Beautiful bitter herbal opening and clean dry down. The heart brings out the synthetic musk with some orris and citrus. The perfume settles on a heavy ambroxan base with olibanum in the background. It's a clean scent, good for summer and autumn. You'll be getting a lot of compliments wearing it. Lasting power is around 4-5 hours. Amazing drydown and very versatile.I'll purchase again !
I’m madly in love with this smell. It’s spicy, warm but refreshing at the same time.It doesn’t smell anything else.I first got a tester from Spaceuk and bought a full bottle straight away. Now purchased the body wash and Body cream too.Just to let you know my scent taste FYII like Tom Ford oud wood, Jo Malone Basil and mandarin
Beautiful scent. Love Byredo and am so glad to add this to my collection. Gypsy Water’s darker, mysterious sister. There’s a smokiness- probably the Palo Santo but there’s also a cleanliness. Hard to describe but a very unique, lovely scent. This scent reminds me of some of their original scents that made them famous- Gypsy Water, Blanche, Mojave Ghost but with a new twist.
