Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. It was released for the PlayStation 5 (as well as other gaming platforms) on November 13, 2020. The game is set during the early 1980s of the Cold War era, and it follows the story of CIA operative Russell Adler as he tracks down a Soviet spy known as "Perseus." The game features both single-player and multiplayer modes, as well as a cooperative Zombies mode. The single-player campaign is a series of missions that take the player across several locations around the world, including the deserts of Angola, the streets of Amsterdam, and the heart of the Soviet Union. The story is told through cutscenes, dialogue, and in-game events, and it features multiple endings depending on the choices the player makes. The multiplayer mode features several game modes, including traditional team deathmatch, capture the flag, and a new mode called "Fireteam," which allows up to 40 players to compete in large-scale battles. The game also features a new "Create-a-Class" system that allows players to customize their loadout with weapons, perks, and attachments. The Zombies mode is a cooperative mode that allows up to four players to team up and fight against waves of zombie enemies. The mode features new maps, weapons, and perks, as well as a new progression system that allows players to level up and unlock new items.

The graphics are amazing. The gun selection is great too. The customizations you can do are almost endless! Coming from Warzone I didn’t like the set up of everything (create a class layout) and I still really don’t. Any time I go back over to warzone I definitely prefer that layout over this one but I’ve gotten used to it so no big deal. I definitely think this one is a bit more difficult to play because you have to be more accurate with your shooting. The gameplays are good. I enjoy the maps. I love how they have some of the OG maps on here. The characters stories are great too. Love the battle pass, just completed season six battle pass. Looking forward to seven. I have been a fan of the Call of Duty series for years now and have been through the best and worse games of the series. This game is definitely worth the buy especially at Walmart's price as it is 10 dollars cheaper than everywhere else. There are 3 main game modes in this game, Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. I haven't played the new Zombies mode that much but I am expecting it to be just as great as it has been in previous entries in the series. I have played through the campaign three times now and the only complaint I have is that it is a little shorter than I would have liked and left me wanting just a little more before this chapter came to an end. It felt fresh and different than previous games which says a lot about the developers as they are still able to produce a gripping and new story even after so many entries into this series. The multiplayer in this game though is a little disappointing. It's the same old thing as every game before it, adding little to no new gameplay features or elements. Multiplayer is also a little light on maps to start with this time around which will hopefully be addressed with future DLC. I would highly recommend this game though players new to the series beware as if you've never played the previous Black Ops games there may be some parts of the story you won't fully understand but even then you will still enjoy the overall experience and story. This is a solid entry into the series just don't expect any new and evolved multiplayer.

Although Modern Warfare is a beautiful game the camping is out of this world. Cold War doesn't really have that problem and I find myself rushing other players regularly and really getting into the action. The game is fast paced and you'll get an adrenaline rush from the gameplay. That is until you get shot down by a bunny hopping, MP5 toting, sweat who slides all around the map.Best Buy came through again with this product. Big thanks to Best Buy and "LaLa" who helped me out when I stopped in for my pickup.

Call of Duty Cold War on Ps5 is arguably even more busted than Cyberpunk was on last Gen consoles. You could at least PLAY Cyberpunk. This game is at times literally unplayable. As in you can't even get passed the main menu because the game bugs out due to network issues on Activision's horrible servers. I spent about an hour last night just trying to get the stupid game to work including sitting at the main menu, hitting X on various options such as zombies and the campaign, just for absolutely nothing to happen. With two different controllers. When it did actually work, I tried to setup a split screen game of zombies with my friend. Only for the game to tell me connection to the host was lost....I WAS THE HOST. My internet speed rarely dips below 100 mbps. Only for the game to tell me connection to the host was lost....I WAS THE HOST. My internet speed rarely dips below 100 mbps. So it's definitely on their end. It kept kicking him out of the party....on split screen. Then there's all the lag, server disconnects, framerate drops. This game is busted. If you have a ps5 or are planning on getting one, avoid this game. Don't buy this game until it's at least half off. It came out in November, they charged 70 dollars for the next Gen versions, and it STILL doesn't work. It's arguably worse now than it was at launch. There's not that much content there to begin with, and most of the cosmetics are locked behind the battle pass that takes DAYS to unlock via gameplay. The reason being, they want to pressure you into paying real world money to unlock dumb stuff. Stupid costumes and cosmetic items that you can't see to begin with, because it's a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER. The game also takes up about 175 GB of space.....on a console that has less than 700gb to work with when you get it, and to this day still doesn't have an option to increase the storage capacity.
Black Ops Cold War is a really good game, when it works. The game has been rushed and is in beta stage, at best, for the Series X. I've lost all audio from the game regularly, requiring a reboot. I've lost all game audio but kept the chat audio multiple times, requiring reboot. One level of the campaign crashes at least once every time I play it, and this last time I played it, it crashed 4 times in about 12 minutes. Another mission gives you a sniper rifle on the side of a mountain, and if you dare to look through the scope at surrounding mountains, it produces graphics glitches that sometimes crash the game. Trying to get a second player registered with Activision for split screen will lock the player into an infinite loop of error messages and registration pages, requiring a reboot to exit. If you do get a second player in split screen (they'll need to be registered with Activision first), they will likely be locked out of their class creation. Trying to load certain maps with a guest account for the second player can crash the game. The custom game creation is a dumpster fire, and they clearly never bothered to test it because the menus for setting up custom game rules are completely broken, listing weapons in the perks and equipment slots and preventing most of the restrictions from being used. Setting up games with bots requires a lot of trial and error as there are two different menus where this can be done (usually... sometimes one disappears), but the options aren't at all the same. In one menu, I was able to set bot difficulty unless I had already put in the maximum number of bots, and then I had to reboot to set the difficulty, while the other menu didn't allow for setting the bot difficulty at all. Some of the maps available will remove all bots from the game and prevent them from being added back when you change to another map, requiring another reboot. And as of today, they added a massive patch that has now locked me out of the game and tells me to purchase the full game. I expect some hiccups with updates, but I get the impression that the developer really only ever fully tested the standard multiplayer modes where they knew the vast majority of the players would spend their time. The rest of the game hasn't had adequate Quality Control.Like I said, it's a good game when it works. I like it better than any other COD since Modern Warfare 3, though I haven't yet played the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot.
Purchased as a gift, but played the campaign myself. It's alright, the story is nowhere near as good as the Modern Warfare (2019) reboot, or even Vanguard. However, I enjoyed it. The reduced difficulty compared to the older games will please the older, less able players, but won't be challenging for the Veterans. I appreciate that it's a step in the right direction. Just wished the missions would play out after each other rather than the safe house in-between. I did run into an issue on "End of the Line". The level would load very slowly and if left would disconnect from the server and take you back to the dashboard after 10 minutes. Pressing the PS button would result in a crash. The method I used was to turn off online and play it offline, it took about 15-20 minutes to load, but I got past this stumbling block. This was on a PS5 and I have no idea why the game did this as the campaign is downloaded in 3 parts). Game very rarely touched on Vietnam, which I thought was false advertising, and the level that replays itself 5 times was annoying. Mixing the zombies up in the campaign will be confusing for players unaware of it. There are some tricky parts for elders. The new Call of Duty's are definitely aimed at multiplayer sadly.
This game is decent to say it best. I was not all that jazzed about the campaign. I don’t really play zombies that much. So really for me it is multiplayer. I liked somethings about it and like always there are things I hate. The perk system is ok, especially if you like to upgrade your weapons and have several attachments, but this just overpowers certain guns to a ridiculous point. The weapon choices are ok, like always there is a variety to choose from to suit your play style. I don’t like the fact that finishing moves are locked behind battle pass. You should be able to earn these in gameplay, and not having to complete every stage in the battle pass season. Some of us can’t grind like that all day. But making these things achievable like finishing moves, character unlocks, skins, through challenges and gameplay would make it better. There should be a happy medium between players who just want to spend the $ for the game and enjoy it and those who want to spend an infinite amount of money to unlock everything there is that the game has to offer. I think they should put some stuff in there that we can earn or trade in prestige tokens for. Still sell your battle pass for those with the deep pockets and give your other players a chance to unlock some of this stuff without having to shell out. Give us something. The free bundles they give are usually nothing to get excited for. I know that this is the way it is, but it would make your audience appreciate you more if you gave them that happy medium.
Got a chance to play the Multiplayer Alpha and the gameplay feels and runs smooth. Maps are an indifferent at the moment, however there was just 3 in the Alpha. Hopefully the remaining 7 are solid.Satellite: Desert-Sand like map that offers lots of cover points for laid back, casual players. Certain game types such as Domination and Hardpoint feel all over the place and not structured properly. The outskirts of the map feature sand dunes that are near impossible to rush and make it a safe space for campers. Overall just nothing special and doesn't feel like a treyarch map - 4/10.Miami: Visually, its an alright map. Feel like they missed some opportunities here. One major complaint is that it's too dark and players can't be seen from more than 20 feet away. Middle of the map is very open, but players tend to flock to the outskirts of the map due to the lack of cover. Feels lifeless at times and other than the color on the buildings it offers nothing - 5/10.Moscow: Easily the best map in the Alpha and plays just like a classic Black Ops 1 map. Left/Right side of the map with the bus and statue play nicely. Middle of the map where B flag lies allows for constant gunfights and zero camping. Right side No real complaints about this map - 8/10.Gunplay felt very smooth, however the snipers feel slightly overpowered and should be toned down a bit. Couldn't go a minute without being one shot by a sniper. Other than that, the core SMG's AR's and LMG's all felt balanced.Obviously an Alpha is a very unpolished version of the game, but with release being less than 2 months away, I can't help but feel this will be similar to the final version; barring any massive weapon/map/gameplay changes of course.Overall, I thought it played great and honestly felt like a better game than Modern Warfare at it's core. I would wait until the beta releases on October 8th to make a final decision. We'll see more maps, more weapons, more game-modes, etc. All that will impact your opinion.
With a new CoD game releasing basically every year for 2 decades its hard to get enthused with them anymore. There are some hardcore COD fans. Not stepping on their toes. Im just tired of the same thing almost every year. Gets repetative and old but thats my opinion. The main draw of COD games are the multiplayer and their is a huge following. One thing I can say is many people miss out on the single player campaigns which are usually pretty good. Some of the COD single campaigns have literally been incredible. I suggeat trying a few of them. They are nothing like the multiplayer games
Da experience is great just like any other game in the gaming universe it starts with a choice the player gotta make. You wanna be Blue team or Red team. Both have awesome resources to try out.Trigger warning: Gaming experience is a lot to process at once but if you keep trying you will get it eventually. My favorite part is when you are playing in the campaign you literally walk into the most secure building in Russia and steal government intel and discover a secret black ops mission and you gotta do all of this without getting caught or your identity exposed. The adrenaline was awesome, my bladder almost exploded ! The team in the game provides great assist in missions and make sure that they got your back all across the game from the first mission to the last.
