Another legacy COD game

I was a bit skeptical when I was considering buying this game. Being a huge fan of the COD franchise, I've been duped by some of their lesser quality games in the past with most of them being fantastic. I'm glad to say this installment was incredible. You can tell the story within the campaign was well thought out, developed, and executed on. The campaign is also a very nice Segway into playing multiplayer with a wide variety of game modes. The maps are all fun, leveling up your profile and weapons is always a blast, and needless to say there's a magnitude of incredible players out there who dominate at this game, but it's still fun and rewarding playing, getting better, and leveling up faster.

I resest my router and tested the wifi signal strength on multiple different devices and I was getting excellent bandwidth speed, but the game was saying that I had bad signal. I even connected my console to an ethernet line to ensure signal issues and still it kept saying high ping. I gave up online mutliplayer and tried to play campaign again and now the game doesnt even work, as soon as I load the game the whole screen goes black to where its barely visible, but the audio remains. I tested this issue and it doesnt happen with any other games, only Modern Warefare 2. Apparently this issue is common on PC and it has a fix but on console there isn't one available yet. I highly advise against buying this game.

I’ll focus on mutliplayer since most people will be buying the game for that purpose… honestly, I absolutely DESPISE Activision for even patenting an algorithm that is Skill Based Match Making. It was present in the 2019 MW but it’s even worse in the 2022 MW2. If you have ANY skill at all in shooting game, the system outright PUNISHES you for performing well. Say you end a game with a k/d record of 20-10. Well, your next get harder and you’ll probably end at 20-15. The more you continue to do even decent, the more aggressive the algorithm gets. Eventually you’ll be thrown into lobbies with kids that haven’t showering since the game launched and they’re easily 2-4x your rank. Especially those of us that actually WORK for a living. Usually, games 1-3 are fine. You’ll do fine. You’ll REALLY start to FEEL the system clenching down games 4-5 and beyond. You’ll spawn and die NUMEROUS times. You can’t even look around a corner because some kid is already scoping that corner with a meta weapon that you have absolutely no chance against. And before you know it, you’re sitting at k/d record of 4-15 and you’ll most likely quit and throw your controller at something. THAT is MW2 in a nutshell…. Have fun!!

Fun game with frustration
2 May 2023

Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox has been a personal favorite of mine, thanks to its amazing campaign mode, which took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. I couldn't get enough of the adrenaline-pumping action, unforgettable characters, and jaw-dropping twists. I've also had a blast playing Warzone, the battle royale mode, which has given me and my friends countless hours of fun and competition. That being said, as much as I love the game, I can't overlook the issues I've encountered with lagging and server stability. There have been times when these technical problems disrupted my immersion, both in the campaign and during intense Warzone matches. It's frustrating to see such a fantastic game held back by these problems, and I'm genuinely hoping for a patch to fix ... MoreModern Warfare 2 on Xbox has been a personal favorite of mine, thanks to its amazing campaign mode, which took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. If infinity ward would actually listen to people this could be the best cod weve had since maybe black ops 2 days, unfortunately the company could care less so If you liked the extreme camp fest that was modern doorfare 2019 youll probably like this garbage. Honestly the games got good roots. Guns feel great, sound great and graphics are good. However its buggy, the company only wants to cater to bad players hense the extreme S.B.M.M. And unreasonably loud footsteps. Call of duty will never be as good as it used to be at this rate and it seems like most new age grass touchers like thier games to be a handholding experience. The game has insane graphics and gameplay is good, but the story...the story itself is pretty good. It's not that long, but it isn't short either. What I didn't like is that there's hardly any action. Not a lot of enemies and you don't really fight them. I mean, you can actually interact with the enemy and start a shootout but in almost every mission you have to be stealthy and pretty much avoid the bad guys and finish it undetected. And they're also short. I WANT ACTION! Nothing like the old CoD games where it was nothing but an all out war...Multiplayer is different too and honestly I prefer the previous games. BO2, Ghosts, and Advanced Warfare were some of my favorites.

Never be the same

I've played cod for so long and love most of the games but this one is definitely different. They have loaded it with so much caca it's like uncle Bob after turkey dinner, bloated and full of farts. The interface is busy and confusing. It's looks like whomever disigned the interface was intoxicated the whole time. If we wanted quick access to cold war or any other games we would just log out and go into that game. The best way for us simpletons is to keep it simple, don't make it more confusing than it has to be. This game is looking more and more like fartnight everytime they release a new game. I'm glad I bought the disc, so I can sell it or possibly use it as a coaster?

There are two components to my review: story and online play. I’ll touch on each of these.First, the story pleasantly surprised me. The campaign has some interesting twists and returning characters that fans of the franchise will know. Some of the missions, like one where you control an air support vehicle, are frustrating, but ultimately I liked the variety of action and stealth components. As for the multiplayer, it’s what you’d expect. One change is the way perks work, with more advanced perks unlocking after a certain amount of time has passed in each match. Everything else should be what you’d expect from COD: good weapon variety, tons of gun customization, and fast-paced matchmaking. The game runs extremely well on PS5, and the online servers have been ... MoreThere are two components to my review: story and online play. Modern warfare 2019 was a surprise modern call of duty that intitiated the overall gameplay design for todays CoD’s. The movement is great and graphifslly it looks phenomenal. I have only focussed on the multiplayer aspect of the title. They havr overhauled weapon and attachment progression to which i like and dislike. Locking weapon unlocks to progression of different weapons I believe is a nice change, encouraging diversity. However, attachments become a grind having to level up a wide array of guns to a minimum level solely for a red dot sight for example. The time to kill (ttk) and skill based matchmaking (sbmm) make this game both fun and frustrating. You die quickly and are constantly being placed in lobbies of same caliber. “Get good” is the most common quote ... MoreModern warfare 2019 was a surprise modern call of duty that intitiated the overall gameplay design for todays CoD’s.
