I had two Bushnells before trying the Callaway 300 Pro. The Callaway picks up the flag more consistently. I do get a slight fluctuation in the yardage but never more than 1 or 2 yards. The Callaway also feels like it is more durable but I have only had it for a couple of months so maybe too early to make that call. Bottom line this is a better device at a slightly lower price point.

Not sure why there are some negative reviews as this unit is perfect! It is small and easy to acquire the pin. Distances are bang on and it acquires the pin lightning fast! Had a Nikon 50i and it was difficult to use. Highly recommend this model!!

My wife bought me the 300 Pro several years ago and it kept going off, changed batteries called Izzo and they sent me new cap, after another few months still same old problem. I called company again and they told me to send it in and they would repair it or give me a refurbished one. A few days ago I received a brand new 300 Pro with the upgrade slope adjusted distance technology as well as the integrated magnets. I'm very pleased and would recommend this product and company. Thanks.

I wanted this rangefinder to be the best golf purchase I had ever made. It's not. Someone else mentioned in another review that you better have an idea your distance because almost 50% of the time it's wrong. If I know I'm around say 165 yards away from the flag, it baffles me how the finder comes up with a distance of 234 yards. So obviously it's picking up things way behind the flag. So I'm disappointed I have to manipulate the finder numerous times to try to dial in a distance. I honestly believe a product like this should be accurate closer to 90-95% of the time. It does provide for some laughs on the course though with the incorrect distances.
Pros:- I like the included magnet. Eliminates the need for an additional accessory to attach it to a golf cart.- Easy to toggle from slope to non-slope.- Compact, good size and fits my hand really well.Cons:- It isn't super accurate. Perhaps there is some user error involved. When I initially target and laser the flag it'll say, for example, 154 yds. If I were to laser to confirm the reading it may correct and say 149yds. The yardage will jump around like this pretty regularly. My Bushnell never had this issue.- How the information is displayed when peering through the lens is pretty terrible. I find myself having to move my eye around to get the yardage, and true yardage. IMO the view is cluttered, the display of the information is too large thus ... MorePros:- I like the included magnet. My experience with Bushnell (various models) is fantastic. The information is all within your field of vision, so you can easily target the flag and consume the yardage information. At this products price point there are better options available.
I bought a Callaway brand laser 11 years ago. It still works well though the glass is finally clouding. I mistakenly replaced it with another brand costing twice as much and returned it due to unreliable readings. I had to shoot distances many times on the other brand before getting the correct distance. I'm now using the Callaway 300Pro. It measures instantainously, picks out the flag from the fareway even with trees in the background. I love the magnetic holder and the vibration confirmation. The optics are fine with 6x magnification. If this lasts half as long as the older version I'll be very happy.
Was given the 300 Pro as a Christmas gift. Loved it for the first 6 months and then one day on the course it stopped working. Purchased new batteries and still will not work. If you are looking for something that is going to last, look elsewhere.
This rangefinder has a very clear display and the magnification is more than adequate. I have had no trouble having the finder identify the greens flags or fairway features. The finder displays the actual distance and the slope adjusted distance clearly. It is easy to use. The view, like a telescope, is available all the time but the distance crosshairs turn off if it hasnt been used in the last several seconds, but the crosshairs come on immediately on pressing the distance button. It was easy to use right out of the box. The semi-hard sided case has both a zipper and an elastic latch so I attach the case to my bag and just undo the elastic band to remove the finder. Maybe improved optics, but the optics on this one are excellent IMO.
The range finder is very small and comfortable in your hand. It's straightforward to use and gives both the straight distance and the distance adjusted for slope. I've had no trouble hitting the targets I'm aiming at easily. Only thing I'm taking a star off for is the "birdie" feature. It's supposed to chirp when you hit a flag but it doesn't seem to do it every time and when it does its so soft you can't easily hear it. I suppose that's is to compete with the jolt feature on the bushnells but its not a good replacement. If you really need that feature you'll have to buy the more expensive bushnell - I don't have any need for it - the Callaway is easy to accurately hit a flag or other item. Recommend. Update 2/26 after using it a few times I'm questioning the accuracy of the slope feature. Yardage to the pin is always good, but on some holes I know play much more uphill it doesn't seem to register enough uphill, others it seems to over do. Yes I know there's more than slope as to how a hole plays but it's too far off to be very useful at my home course, making it suspect on the courses where I'd really benefit from it. I have no regrets on the purchase, just expected the slope to be more help.
absolutely great range finder for the one year it worked. then, it died. just dead. after one year. didnt drop it, get it wet, or otherwise mistreat it. just died on the course and new batteries didnt help. kind of a bummer because it really exceeded expectations as far as accuracy were concerend.
