Camp Chef Folding Side Shelf Set For 14" Cooking Systems

Overpriced for the quality. Quality could stand some improvement. I found a small chip in the finish and two out of the four brackets are bent. They are too flimsy to hold any amount of weight and doesn't fit very well. I thought about returning them but decided to keep them and live with it.

Bag 'em

These shelves fit perfect on the Explorer stove. Another review had indicated that with these installed his stove would not fit in the carrying case. Mine fits just fine in the case - Explorer stove, Explorer shelves.

Camp Chef 2 burner stove and shelves.

Hi, Just to let you know we recently bought our second, 2 burner Camp Chef stove because we love the first one so much. It gets used daily. The shelves are a great addition and arrived ahead of the preddicted delivery date, we have them on both stoves. We love cooking with cast iron cookware, and this stove is ideal for cooking with cast iron. We have a grill box that we can bake and make pizza in. We have a wok and a two sided griddle for each stove.

Can't wait

I have been waiting quite a while for these to come back in stock. I have not installed them yet because my grill is put up right now. I cannot wait to install these because when it warms up I cook a lot on this thing.

Cant use grill cover with the shelves.

You cant put the grill cover on with the shelves on it. Because of that reason I wont even use them. If they were simple enough to remove and put back on then Id be ok with that but its not. So you have to choose between the two because you cant use both and for that reason I dont like it. It Sucks .

Folding shelves

Waited for the shelves to come back in stock since last July. Glad I have mine ready to go for later this. I'm sure they will work just like my 14" explorer stove.

Questions about durability

I question the durability and design of these shelves. The support arm is only 2-3” long for a shelf about 16” folded out. This leaves most of the shelf unsupported. Shelf needs better support design. I believe if a full pot was put in the shelf it would bend and break hurting someone if the pot was hot. The stove is great. I’m disappointed in the shelf. The stove is great, I was expecting a better shelf.

Shelves and carry bag

The shelves work great. I am glad I bought them. However, I also bought the two burner carry bag and the stove does not fit in the bag now that I have added the shelves. I had to remove the two metal arms that support the shelves in order to get the stove in the bag. Not a big deal but now I have to install the shelve supports each time I use the stove. Camp Chef may want to add a larger bag to their inventory for people (like me) that buy the shelves as an add-on.

Why did I wait so long

I've had my Camp Chef stove for several years, and was always using tote boxes as side tables when cooking on campouts. I wish I had purchased these sooner. These shelves installed very quickly and are heavier gauge steel than I expected (so they do add to the weight of the stove). The enamel finish is a crinkle-coat, so it should be quite durable over the many years of use I expect to get from them.

great, but not excellent

I am excited about these shelves. I have used a 3 burner camp chef that had the shelves already attached and knew they were wonderful. When I purchased the 2 burner, I missed the shelves, thus I purchased them. We don't have the carrying case, and just store the stove in the box. With the shelves installed, it will no longer fit in the box. I plan to just reinstall them each time I use the camp chef. It's just kind of a pain, but I feel it will be worth the effort.
