This book has been very impactful on me. Being military, I was interested simply based on that, but I got more than I baragined for. I'm in a difficult time in life and happened upon this book. It has a great story quality to it, which keeps it interesting, but it has also given me some ideas for taking huge things down into managable parts. Also suggestions on where to start. It is hard to start when you don't even know what success would look like. I would recommend to everyone. There is language, but I liked that. It added authenticity to the the thoughts and feelings as he was going through them.

For anyone stuck in a rut, feeling down and unmotivated you need to read/listen to this book. The audiobook provides further insight from David Goggins which adds so much more value to it's purpose. I listen to it while running because it makes me feel as though I am unstoppable. David's story is compelling and utterly insane but so so motivating and incredible. It is the tough love that wont feed into your lazy excuses. This story has the tools to help you change your life!

This is a book that I will reread for years. This man's life was far from easy and persevered through so many challenges and obstacles. From an abusive childhood he learned from the beginning that life wasn't easy and no easier to dealing with racism in his teenage years. Which lead him to want to rise higher above all odds and join the military then onto the navy seals, and from there became an elite athlete. David Goggins shows you how to callus the mind from mental, physical,and emotional pain to keep pushing yourself to see what you're really made of and put aside our lazy excuses. This book is truly motivating , I would recommend to everyone.

I would recommend it people i love

I have utmost respect and honor for David Goggins. Reading this made me realize how everyone in life go through problems for some it's not that much but they tend to create drama and want people approval and make it seem like a big deal. Those who go through brutal life choices and test every path of the journey. Shout out to the man who defy the odds of human capabilities and mind power. You will live on through eternity David Goggins love and rest for this man.

It will change your life

David Goggins is an extraordinary individual. He is constantly seeking to improve himself - he still understand that he has a long way to go. This is shown through his constant pursuits to find the courage to go past his comfort zones. At times, it is shown that he puts himself at life's risks - however, this book shows us that anything is possible if you use a positive mindset everyday. I don't think everyone will love the strategies he used throughout his journey or even to this day, but one does become fascinating with someone who is eager to always never be complacent. Isn't that what we all want? I love this book. I'm very happy I purchased the book and it will be one I keep on my bookshelf... forever.

Not for the faint at heart (or mind)

Read the book in one day. A lot of intense focus on training (and hence mental focus and discipline). Three quarters of the way in started losing interest since its really about one persons mental journey chronicled throughout physical conditioning. Did I learn some new techniques? Ya betcha!

Phenomenal and Empowering

Right from the opening pages your spirit is lifted. David shows unbelievable courage to share the ugly truths of his childhood and shows that no matter what your story you can become whoever you discipline yourself to be. Must read and a great role model

This book is probably the best thing that has happened to me in last 3.5 yrs. Read it actually and unfortunately in prison while the 1st wave of the Corona touched down. First off he speaks as I would and to the point not replacing cuss words with softer kinder words so a man like me could feel what he was saying. I like everyone else essentially everyone else in that prison tested positive and had landed at the hottest spot in the country when nobody knew how serious or not serious it was. I experienced a 3 day flu but had watched the news and was perceived to be respiratory. We were given 1 hr outside and I had read this book in the hole and for that hr everyday I began to run and at 1st no more than a mile. Truth be told gonna have to read again myself cause I've lost track of that drive and need to be inspired again like I was when read this book. So if want a review from just a normal man not New York times than do yourself a favor and read the man's story. Resilient and inspiring to say the least and thank you again Mr. Goggins.

Typos

Typos on just about every page, So bad that some of the sentences I had to re read to figure out what was supposed to be said. Some pages look like the printer was running out of ink. or just out right crooked. Pay the few extra dollars for a better copy elsewhere.

Very enjoyable and challenging. This is real self help.

I bought this because Joe Rogan recommended this book on his show as an example of "Real" self help or motivation material. If I remember right he said the book makes you feel like going out and running up a mountain. It is a compelling, challenging and stimulating read from one of the most unique humans on the planet. David Goggings is awesome. If you are into self improvement, yes, I reccomend this book.
