Canadian Club Blended Canadian Whisky 700ml

(497 reviews)

It is thanks to settlers from Scotland and Ireland that Canada, like America, can look back on a centuriesold whisky tradition. The beginnings were made in the second half of the 18th century, at that time with rye as the main ingredient of the mash. In 1884 the "Hiram Walker Club" from a distillery in Ontario went down in the annals as the first commercially marketed Canadian whisky. When Hiram Walker began supplying the USA in the 1880s and enjoyed great success there, the local whisky lobby forced him to label his products according to their origin thus the name Canadian Club was born. Prohibition in the USA, which came into force in 1919, continued to benefit the brand, as Canadian Club whiskies were particularly sought after by smugglers, who at the time were making crossborder waterways unsafe. The Canadian Club Original is the brand's flagship and the bestselling whisky on the domestic market. It is distilled from a fermented mash that contains corn, rye, rye malt and barley malt. The exact composition is of course not revealed. Before the cask maturation in former Bourbon barrels, the blending of different distillates takes place.

This whisky taste nice mixed with ginger ale or as I prefer this gem on the rocks. If you tried the original and didn’t care for it, this aged whisky is totally different the taste is so good you cant compare the two. What can I say great price point and great whisky. @canadianclubwhisky #agedwhisky #canadian #canadianclub #canaduanclubehisky #drinkresponsibly

This is one of my go-to drinks for a night drinking with friends. I like it best with Diet Coke but also obviously good with ginger ale. It’s a lot nicer than other whiskies in my opinion - smoother and make a bit sweeter, so it mixes nicely but also makes for nice shots if you’re after that kind of night!

I may be biasist about this. But I love a good whisky on the rocks. Or with cola. Depending how I feel on the day. This has a strong oak taste to it. But I like it. I'm very old school with my selections but at the same time I can have electric drinks that are out there such as "baby blue dragon vodka". This is definently a gentleman's drinks. Think, cigar, whisky on ice, that strong oak, slight bitter taste, with dark lights and pool table. If you can Imagen that in a drink, you've got it. Haha. But my #1 whisky choice. Always. Jappanese whisky is also good too!

Judging by how fast it was gone, and that we have bought it numerous times I can recommend it for sure. Don't drink it myself so can't be of any help regarding flavour but my husband only keeps it for good occasions!

Enjoyable drink at the end of the day:

I did enjoy a glass of wine except during the hot weather days wine was not any longer satisfying my taste buds. Many years ago, I drank CC Whisky and wine and eventually chose the wine instead: I have again started drinking CC Whisky and still like the smooth taste of the CC Whisky and mixed with Bickford's Lemon and Barley with Lemonade: Don't take my word for it' try a CC Whisky yourselves:

Excellent whiskey for the price.

Best Whiskey, smooth and can be drank by itself or mixed. Can be served room temperature or on the rocks. I have been drinking this for 35 years. Love it. Most bars don't serve it but prefer the Jim or Jack for the name. But if you like taste!! CC all the way!!!

Fantastic

I recently decided to make an 'Old Fashioned' cocktail and didn't want to use my very expensive malt in the recipe, so bought the Canadian Club and hoped for the best (never had it before). My goodness, it makes a stunning Old Fashioned! My favourite during this current lockdown!! Put a Luxardo Cherry into your Old Fashioned - it takes it to another level!!

Perfect for a Manhattan
18 February 2022

One of the best classic cocktails of all is the Manhattan, but and MUST be made with Rye Whisky so Canadian Club is idea. Never ever Bourbon or Jack Daniels, (which are excellent in different drinks). Martini Rosso, Angustura, ice and a cherry. YUM
