Canon 6DPK2 EOS 6D Premium Kit With EF 24-105mm Is STM Lens

I don't own the lens, so this will be about the camera body alone. This camera has wonderful low light capability, and I love that it's a full frame. I've been caught in the rain with it a couple times as well and the weather sealing obviously works because it's still perfect. I use this camera for pretty much every photo I post and the quality is always great. I wish it could auto focus for video, but still a fantastic photo camera.

I use this camera for my Photography. I really don't know what to say, It's a good camera but honestly it was kinda disappointing. I bought it used for about 400 dollars I just got it completely repaired and redone and its brand new, i took it to a great camera place. The Image quality just isn't great. Ik it's only 20.2 megapixels but I was not expecting it to be like it was, I recommend buying something more modern.

We upgraded from the T3i to this one. I wanted less shutter lag, a larger sensor, and bigger pixels. The T3i was great to start with, and this was a natural progression. It also has better low light sensitivity and battery life, however is bigger than the T3i. So I found it heavier and harder to fit in my purse. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, but the extra weight can get annoying when you’re out walking all day. Apart from this, I highly recommend the 6D.

I honestly think I prefer the 60D or 70D to this camera. There are a lot of design flaws on this one. My biggest issue is it doesn't come with a flash on the camera. Are you kidding me? No flash? So automatically you're going to be shelling out an extra couple hundred for additions to this camera (and that's pretty much assuming you get them off of eBay). The viewfinder isn't one hundred percent, either. There is also only one SD card slot, and the buttons run down the left and back side of the camera (as opposed to other Canons which generally place them on the right). On the right side if the camera you have the adjustment dial, metering, autofocus, etc. I'm not use to this setup, as I mentioned, it's a bit frustrating jumping back and forth between this design ... MoreI honestly think I prefer the 60D or 70D to this camera. I've been into taking pictures ever since I could remember. However, I had always done it with my iphone and a ring light which was pretty good quality. Recently, I had been wanting something a little more professional. After reading the reviews, I chose this camera. Let me just say that it does not disappoint at all. It is such high quality and great for a beginner like myself.

(c) Given that the 6D has very few focus points (9, and only the center one is a crosspoint, the 6D2 has a much better focussing system), I was wondering how well this model would work out with birding shots. It is well known that 6D is not a camera for wildlife. However, I did not feel like I was missing a ton of shots because of the focus system. The center focussing system was nice indeed. However, relying on one of the off-camera focussing points did not seem like an option unless it is a stationary object. If relying on the center focussing point alone, then you might ultimately end up cropping your photos in which case a ~20MP picture would end up even smaller. For instance, I attach one image of a bald eagle here where I did continuous focus tracking with the center focus point at an ISO1000, 552mm, f7.1 aperture, 1/2000 seconds shutter speed on an overcast day. I ended up cropping the picture to about 22% of its original size. Overall: in 2017, I feel like the 6D is good full frame camera upgrade from an old crop sensor camera when it is on a deal and if landscapes are of major interest, with a nicely performing center autofocus point that surprisingly can do well even with birds in flight.

I wish that I had known earlier

I've had a couple of 40D, a 60D, and a 70D. I'm no pro but I'm pretty used to Canon products. I just picked up a used 6D. I've had it a couple of days now and it's remarkable how much my photos have improved. I'm used to getting some keepers when I go walking around but the percentage just jumped. I'm using the same lenses as before. EF mount fit both FF and APS-C after all. In terms of controls, the 6D reminds me more of my old 40D's than anything else. Simple to use, you don't get lost in some silly computer subroutine to go from thing to thing. Yes, it's nice to have more capabilities to do advanced things but how many of us actually use those advanced features? Phenomenal Kit That Hits Almost Every Need!

There are plenty of much more in-depth reviews, so I'll keep this rather high-level. As a frame of reference, I'm primarily a hobbyist although I had sold a bit and done some paid work. I'm also frequently taking pictures of my kid (and nieces and nephews) and am the defacto 'family picture' person. That said, I have had this kit for over four years now and I can't say enough positive about it. I had the Rebel T3i for about 2.5 years prior to owning this and naturally, this blows it out of the water. I couldn't be happier with the results. It's solid, but not that heavy. It had taken countless abuses (with kids, there are several relatively short drops and one big drop from me, about 6 feet high) and has been out in various weather conditions (below 10 degrees and above 100, snow, rain, you name it) and never buckled under any of them. I'm well into the tens of thousands of pictures taken and I haven't noticed a difference from day one. Videos look great as well, but admittedly I don't take many so I can't say too much about the functionality behind it. The one only negative thing I will say is that it seems my copy needs some calibration to get the proper color. Under naturally lit conditions or under LED 'daylight white', I set the white balance shift to B2/M4, CFL 'soft white' work better all the way into the corner, B9/M9. For whatever reason, just changing the actual white balance wasn't enough to fix the color. Images, when taken with a CFL 'soft white' light source, will still come out green if I don't change the calibration. I won't knock a star for that because I can still calibrate in-camera and don't need to waste time doing it post-production and risking the IQ hit - it's a quick fix and there are too many positives for this minor negative. As far as the lens is concerned, it was almost exclusively on 6D for about a year and a half until I had saved up to afford a few different lenses. Even now, I care it almost everywhere I go. It's such a useful range that you almost don't need another lens unless you really need to reduce some distance between yourself and the image you want. When traveling abroad, I had brought this with two others (the 'holy trinity' of a 17-40 and the 70-200). I almost never had the other two on because it just wasn't necessary. The biggest thing is the aperture is a little slow for certain situations (inside, especially the castles where light isn't as readily available as a modern home or at night without a tripod), but the 6D being full-frame allows for some very usable images in the 1600-4000 ISO range. You may not want to blow them up too big, but 8x12 would still look quite nice. All-in-all I'm not sure you could get a much better kit for the price. Even without price consideration, it is still tough to beat!

If you want fancy tracing of moving subjects, this camera was never intended for that role, but for accurate autofocus in very low light, only the very latest high-end DSLRs and mirrorless do better, and not by much. The 6D has only 11 focus points and only the center point is worth anything, but wow, that center point is a real winner. It is a cross type and is sensitive all the way down to EV-3, which is only a stop less than Canon's much newer and more expensive 5D4.The 6D is also Canon's best DSLR for manual focus. It has interchangeable focusing screens (uses the same ones as the old 5D2) and with the "s" type precision screen it is easy to manually focus even fast lenses like the Helios 85mm f/1.5 I occasionally use for portraits or the Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 AIS.The sensor remains fully modern in terms of ISO sensitivity, noise and is just a hair off of Canon's latest in dynamic range. I believe the lowish 20MP resolution is why it performs so well, and images captured with this sensor and a good lens (the 50/1.2 L is a perfect match) just have a cinematic quality that I've only ever exceeded using a Leica and their hyper exotic (and expensive) lenses.If you are looking for an excellent full-frame DSLR to use with quality glass for stills photography, you would have to spend a lot more money to get only incrementally better results than you can with the 6D.
