Professional people to work with. It’s a very simple service to use especially when you designate a local FedEx store to pick up from. Packaging and return labels are all included. Renting a $2500 lens for a week or two of vacation is well worth it. When we get home we have frame worthy pictures to enjoy instead of a bunch of snap shots we look at once and forget. I have purchased the used equipment from Lensrentals as well and can’t tell any difference from buying full priced new. Very satisfied customer.

I own the version II. The Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II came out in 2010. The Version III came out in 2018.The mechanics are the same. But the main difference is the new version has a "Air Sphere Coating (ASC)" to reduce flare and ghosting. It's more of a benefit if you do studio photography. This lens is pretty much a must-have for any Canon photographer; you'd had to be a really bad photographer to get bad photos with this lens. This lens pretty much does all the work for you. Plenty of BokehThe only negative is that it's heavy and expensive.

This is one of the finest lenses that canon has ever made. If you want to shoot stock photography and are willing to use an DSLR instead of a mirrorless body, pair this with a 5D Mark IV and you will have one the best full frame Canons out there. That combination is a very good choice for low light. Distortion and chromic aberration is virtually nil. If you want to shoot for the pixel counters you have to have top drawer equipment. Add a Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Lens and you have the basis of a very solid camera system that covers medium wide angle to medium telephoto. No, it is not the newest cutting edge tech. I went for the longest time without picking a 70-200. I thought there was no way it could be as useful as everyone seemed to make it out to be. I haven't taken this lens off my camera except for a handful of times since I purchased it back in February. The images are sharp. Focal length range is about as useful as it gets. I used to find myself wishing I had more range, more often than I realized. Now that I have it, I find myself punching in well beyond 70mm way more often than I expected to. This lens has been worth every cent.
Wow! This lens's ability to let more light in was perfect for nighttime sports shooting. The shipment was sent in a very sturdy and secure case. You can tell this equipment is well taken care of.My only slight disappointment was when I ordered it said it would be sent via FedEx which delivers early in the day to my home. However, it was actually shipped via UPS which delivers at the end of the day 7 PM. So I had to leave the sporting event to go home and get the lens on the day of arrival and missed out on some time using it.
I have been looking for a lens to replace my 20 year old Sigma 70-200 F2.8 for a while. My intention was to replace it with the latest Sigma Sport, but it's been impossible to get one new in the UK for the last 6 months or so. I had been considering this or the RF 2.8 instead, but they are so much more expensive. I tried both lenses at the Canon stand last weekend at the Photography Show, and if they had been the same price, I would have chosen the RF as the autofocus on my R6 did seem marginally faster, but this lens was on special offer at the show, and also would work on my existing 80D.The difference between this and the old Sigma is huge, the autofocus is faster and more accurate, and the image quality is noticeably sharper. I have used it for wildlife, and a few portrait shots, and my RAW files are so sharp, it feels like I don't need to apply sharpening. Although I have been using it mainly in autofocus, I have played around with the manual focus and love the huge ring, it makes focussing manually so much easier than playing around with the tiny rings on most of my other lenses.
The lens did exactly what I expected it to do. I first paired it with a Canon R7 and took some low light High School photos and it performed great. I then paired it to my Canon R3 night fall baseball and football game. The results were great. The blurry backgrounds with the players in focus was what I was expecting this combination to be able to achieve and it did. Using topaz photo Ai to remove the noise results in a stunning low light picture. Worth the investment.
Over the years I've rented several times and have always had a good experience. This rental was for a rafting trip down the Snake River through Hells Canyon. The lens was delivered in a waterproof case - perfect. A minor nit - and I can't tell that it affected the image quality, but the filter had some faint scratches and should have been replaced before the lens was sent to me.I've considered purchasing a pro-quality lens but it's tough for me to justify the expenditure. For an infrequent user like me renting makes a lot of sense.
You just can't go wrong with a 2.8 lens. I have the f4 version of this lens and it is great most of the time but in low light or when a fast shutter speed is needed, this is what you want. I tried this new lens out handheld. At about a quarter mile away, I was able to freeze shots of passing trucks on a freeway. This was with an extender and again, handheld. I expect that it will capture wildlife just fine. I have the orginal copy of this lens and this is a huge leap forward. I love it. If I upgrade to mirrorless, this lens will work just fine.
I use this lens daily on my Canon 5D MIV w/a battery grip. My style of shooting is to back focus with spot metering through the eye piece. The focus on this lens is super sharp, the motor is quiet and really fast. I've had this lens for two years and have used it in all types of scenarios such as wildlife, sports, portraits for friends and much more. Just following the rules of exposing a shot and you'll get super sharp images with this lens every time and you'll always have plenty of room for cropping as well. Be sure to use a shoulder strap when waking or doing sports because it's heavy. The lens hood it comes with is awesome too because it protects the glass in tight spaces, especially with branches in the park and when someone bumps in to you at a venue.
