I bought the R100 with the pancake lens specifically to do street photography. This is my first Canon mirrorless and I am surprised by how much capacity is in on little camera. I have a Canon T3i and this is as much or more camera for about half the price. It's incredibly basic, but it's 100% able to grow with the photographer. It's a very competent photographer's back-up body masquerading as a point-and-shoot camera. It is so small and unobtrusive that street photography is a delight. Don't focus on what it's not, focus on how much camera it is and you'll be thrilled. It reminds me of my Pentax ME that was a compact delight to use. Get one today.
Great for quick excursions and travel. Expected quality photos with a canon camera. I would recommend purchase of an additional telephoto lens. Also it is a fixed viewfinder on camera.
This is a day and night difference between what its replacing. The t7 looks like dogwater compared to the r100 literally. The t7 was yellow in every picture and has the clarity of looking through filmy hot dog water. The lenses for EF were so soft that every picture looked like a foggy sauna window. This is hands down the best intro mirrorless camera. So much better than an iphone. The picture i uploaded is shot on the r100.

Every bit as sharp as my Canon EF 200mm f/2.8 L this little lens is amazing. I'm very happy with it. If you don't need the build quality of an L lens, this will serve you well at a considerable savings.
