Well we got this machine in and it was extremely heavy so I had to use a TV stand to put it on. The ink is very easy to put in but the ink is also very expensive to buy, running upwards of $60 per bottle. The paper I finally found at Office Depot for $25, otherwise the recommended paper is upwards of $40/ $50 and more. I like the ability to put my projects on an external drive and plug it into this or send from my phone or computer. I also like the fact that you can scan a small scale picture that you want to turn into a banner. We are using this for making banners and things for our home school as well as for my mom's business. The printer has the ability to print on rolls up to 24 in or on the regular plain printer paper.

This printer has all the ease of a Kinkos or a UPS store right from the comfort of your home but better! You donβt need to be hooked up to a computer! It can enlarge prints, allows you to print from the Cloud and scan. It also has a USB Flash drive port to help print large scale images like blue prints for a construction site. My husband is a Private Contractor and loves the ease of access with this. It also has a very clear touchscreen LCD display . It is rather heavy as it should be for the large scale capabilities it has. Overall this is a luxury to have and if you are a business owner, involved in community activities, or need any media presence this is the tool for the job!

I am very happy with this printer. I was able to print posters for a work event in ten minutes. The ink is vibrant and the machine is very easy to use. Set up took a total of approximately thirty minutes. The printer is very heavy and sturdy for sure. I will purchase a cart for it for my study soon. The scanner on this printer is amazing too. The documents scan in very clearly. I would 100 percent definitely recommend this printer.

Iβve used this printer many of times. Im into crafting. This helps me with my larger prints. I can make posters for occasions. Since I customize chip bags and other snacks I can put multiple on one paper. Even though the accessories to this printer is expensive especially the ink. Itβs worth it. My brother also made a poster for his job he works for an after school program. This printer is a great investment.
I bought this printer 4 months ago for a design job and it did very well. I design films and we had a ton of period graphics that needed scanned and others that we built that needed printed. It did an amazing job and I am thrilled with the output.
The first Canon TC-20 printer that I ordered was "open-box"; arrived 2 days later with impact damage to the printer and would not even power on.Still needing a printer for my project, I ordered a NEW unit, hoping that it was packaged better than the open-box unit had been. It arrived in good shape in 2 days (today). So far I've only printed the diagrams and line drawings needed for my project, so this review is based only on the 6 line-drawing color prints that I've made so far.The instructions for setup are poor, and poorly illustrated. Canon's attempt at brevity has crippled the understandability of the sparse instructions. Canon's attempt at brevity has crippled the understandability of the sparse instructions. And to get the full (and poor) instructions to fully load the inks, roll paper, and set up a wireless connection, you must navigate to several different places to collect this information. Thanks, Cannon. Why are you wasting my time this way??Even jumping around the internet to find the set-up instructions, some of my questions were not fully answered: for instance, when the ink is installed for the first time, you are instructed to how to insert them into the machine for ink loading. The screen says it can take 'up to one minute' to load the ink. But is this a single bottle they are talking about? Or all 4 bottles? ...will the printer indicate to me when the ink bottles are empty? (No, it doesn't). Thanks, Canon. Please try to be a little more vague, can you?As it turns out, for the *initial* set-up, all 4 bottles will (nearly) completely empty into the printer. You'll just have to assume when the bottles are actually empty and done, as it's not easy to tell by looking at the bottles, and the the printer will not tell you either. Give it at least a minute (after a bottle is inserted), and after that you're on your own to guess when/if it is done. Thanks, Canon. Also know that the first time you load a set of the 70 oz. ink bottles (x4) that come with the printer, these will NOT fill the printer's internal ink reservoirs, only about 1/2 or less (this ink level is displayed on the front-panel screen when you make a print, which is nice). This indicates that the printer's reservoirs can hold about two 70-oz. bottles of each color. Just FYI.The tiny front-panel screen telling you that it will take up to 'a minute' to finish, is all the help you're going to get.(When you add inks at a later time, the bottles may not completely empty into the printer if it can't take the entire 70 ounces, the guide says the bottles will put ink into the printer until the printer is full and then stop-- but again, we are left to guess when that happens, because the printer will not you. That's it. Take your best guess, my friends. Thanks, Canon.)My first attempt to load a roll of 24" plain paper brought a nasty paper jam that required pulling out the paper from the way it went in, and having to unplug the printer to reset it-- it wouldn't allow me to turn it off using the POWER button in front, so I had to pull the plug for several seconds; thanks, Canon. I had to try loading a roll of paper and try again.Okay, second try to load a roll of paper I used a brand new roll of 24" coated paper, and this time it loaded properly and then asked to do the printhead alignment, which it completed successfully (IMPORTANT NOTE: this printer REQUIRES you to load a ROLL of paper to do the initial printhead alignment, it WON'T do the initial setup and printhead alignment with cut sheets of paper. My first half-dozen prints were my line-drawing schematics and hydraulic diagrams, and the printer quality appears to be very good, as good as I could have hoped for. But, I will add (and I can only compare this printer to the 'cheap' HP DesignJet 130nr that I had used for years previously), this Canon TC-20 printer is INCREDIBLY SLOW. Really slow. Good print quality, but expect it to take its time doing so. I'm a little stunned actually how long it takes to do color line drawings with some background fill color (the posters I make have plenty of white paper background so the printer isn't pushing all that much ink!). The printer is quite slow. If you need prints quickly, you're going to have to buy a different printer. At some point I'll try printing some of my artwork and photographs on roll photo paper to see if they look good as well (I expect them to look pretty good), but still expect them to come out as slow as molasses. If I were selling to multiple customers, this printer would probably be too slow for me.Does the TC-20 make good-enough quality prints for me? Yes, I'd say so.If I need to buy another 24" printer in the future, would I buy another Canon TC-20? Ehhh... maybe not. I'll pay more attention to print speed in the future. The print speed is disappointing.
Im an accountant and assistant for a large franchisee electrician service.Alot of our work is with new homes. Most builders and developers dont supply plan copy printed anymore due to effort and cost Im guessing. Now we just get a PDF and our team is expected to use phones to read the plans which as you can imaging on a job site is too small or too delicate.I have been printing out the plans in A3, but again the scale makes the detail too small.I went into Officeworks to have a look at what else we could do to print bigger plans. Was hoping to setup a deal with my local print lab onsite but the time and frequency of travel id need to get all the copies printed would take me too much time. So i was talking to the lab assistant and she said have a look online and there are wide format printers on the Officeworks site.I found the Epson, Canon & HP printers. I noticed the Officeworks labs used Canon and so i asked and they said they're brilliant and i got some samples done and they were great so i proceeded to by the Canon TC-20 with the A4 scanner built in online.Couldnt be happier, was easy to setup, goes fast, does A1 which is perfect size for trades. But also lets me do A2 for the smaller plans which ive never been able to do before and it prints from a roll of paper and just cuts it off when it finishs printing. No pre-cut sheets required, just works.
I purchased this printer to replace a much older 24 wide format printer. I am using this printer primarily for CAD drawings but I can also use it as a desktop printer, which is a plus for me. I can choose to use the Top Feed or Roll Paper as needed. I don't have to get up and change the paper from one to the other. I ran a few test prints and I was impressed with the colors for a 4 color printer ! The ink tanks are slightly larger than another brand that I considered and I plan on converting over to 3rd party inks sometime in the future. The setup was easy and went well. I haven't had any issues with the roll paper misfeeding yet but I don't care for the design/build quality of the roll holder. 1. Will randomly throw an error code that not even Canon support knows about and will have to escalate, and eventually figure out that it's due to the paper sensor for the roll feed and you need to remove the roll paper and re-seat.This happens regularly.2. Does not support A5 paper or anything with a width less than 8.27 and height 8. Arbitrarily.3. If roll paper is left in for a while, it will curl backwards and hit a ledge inside the printer as it comes out, causing the paper to severely bend and be unusable or crinkled. This model was a huge disappointment. It never achieved the print quality for the advertised high print resolution (2400x1200). BHPhoto techs were great working with us, but in the end they too could not find a way to get it to print as well as any Epson. Contacting Canon support was even more deflating. In the end Canon rep said the printer was not meant for images! Really? An ImagePROGRAF printer was not for images? We tested that theory and it's also not good for line art so what is it for? :) Don't be fooled by the low price. It should be even lower. Returned the printer. Went back to Epson. Very happy.
