The PBT Canon G3660 printer description included a comment of "WIFI Windows Only" ??? but on visiting the Canon site, there were no Windows Only warnings.Conversely, the site and the box indicated Windows and MacOS compatibility. When queried, the PBT staff didn't know what their "WIFI Windows Only" warning was about, so I thought I would try it (I have both Mac & Windows systems).I installed the printer (USB hardwired) on the Mac but the installation did actually "kill" my Router/Mesh Wifi system!!!I recreated a new Wifi setup (new SSID) and then moved the hardwire connection to my Windows system. Reinstalled and that worked. So the PBT comment was correct but it appears that neither Canon nor PBT know why it is correct.Currently, I'm not having much success ... The printer is very good, took a bit work to set up due to the way to input the wifi password. Otherwise, good machine, the first one is so good, got a second one for the office. then comes the firmware update over wifi, if you ever get prom to do it, don’t! It is like apple’s battery gate. Once updated, it stop working. Took back for repair and all free under warranty. Now 2 years since I took the printer out of the box. Every update come with the same error code after. And since it is out of warranty now. the cost of repair is almost same as buying a new one. So from my experience with this machine or the trust to cannon printer! Stay away from them at all cost.

I bought this several months ago. While I am happy with the ink being eco, and it lasting well, unfortunately, I've had several problems pop up. The top load scanner doesn't handle multiple pages - it takes several pages at once and then they get stuck. The prints I did on professional photo paper have faded fast - don't expect your photos to last with this ink.The back tray has a new error this week - it's telling me the loaded paper is the wrong size. It's not, nothing has changed, its just A4, and no matter how many times I reload it the printer remains adamant. Switching it off and on works... sometimes.I love the eco tank idea, I hope Canon can improve the ink and fix these other general problems

Brilliant printer and scanner overall. Easy to set up, print quality superb. I only have one gripe, the printer doesn't "wake up" out of hibernation mode if printing through wifi network. I've had to turn the printer off and on to wake it up when it's "sleeping". A small nuisance that I'm hoping an update will correct.
First of all, I would like to thank the team of Officeworks for their responsiveness and continuous support. I am only disappointed with this specific printer, not their lovely team. I am a high school student, and I have to print out all kinds of materials and worksheets for my studies. I considered buying my own printer about two years ago during lockdowns, mainly for convenience. I had my eye on ink tank printers because their large ink volume allows them to print at a relatively cheap price. After some insufficient research, which I do regret by now, I bought this printer at my local Officeworks. Everything started fine, it was doing a really great job at printing documents and photos for my family. After about 6 months, the printer just stopped working ... After about 6 months, the printer just stopped working suddenly, it doesn't turn on. So, I brought the printer to the same store I purchased it at, and one of the Officeworks team members offered me a replacement, free of charge. (Thank you and I am really grateful for that) Once the lockdown ended, I used the printer less often because remote learning was over. Soon after that, the printer started to have a weird issue - the ink would retract back to the reservoir, leaving the tube empty and filled with air. Every time when this occurs, the printer would just print while missing a few colours. To solve this, I did what it's called an "ink flush". This is a function of the printer itself, so I am not trying out anything malicious. What it does is that it pumps ink into the tubes and subsequently into the print heads. However, a lot of ink is wasted during this process. After some investigation, I realised that is a common problem for many ink tank printers, because they are intended to be used frequently, not sitting on my desk collecting dust(ironically I wipe it very often). Over the course of roughly half a year, I did several ink flushes just to get the printer working. Recently, I noticed the ink levels were low, so I bought a full set of ink refills, which was not cheap for me. When I did the nozzle check test print, the page says I have only printer ~700 pages. It was at this moment I was feeling slightly disappointed, given it was promoted that the printer could print up to 7000 pages. I knew that it was the ink flushes I was doing(in order to keep the printer working) that consumed the majority of the ink, so at that time I did not complain at all, all I did was telling myself to print more often so I could avoid this empty ink tube issue. So what exactly led me to write this review? Well, it is very complicated. I am a Year 11 student, but I am currently completing some Year 12 subjects and the VCE exams are coming up. I was trying to print out some practice exams last week, and the issue appeared again, this time it seemed like only the colour black is impacted(all the CMY colour tubes were full). I thought 'alright I will flush it again', but NOTHING happened, the ink of other colours was wasted but the problem is still there. I then took the print heads out and cleaned them, put them back on and flushed it again, NOTHING happened. So I refilled the black reservoir to its absolute maximum and tried once more, you guessed it, NOTHING happened. And this time, an error code "P07" popped up, and it disabled all functions of the printer, including printing and scanning. It was already more than 12 months since I got the replacement, so there is no chance I would get another replacement. So I decided to follow some tutorials on YouTube, which suggested going into maintenance mode and blah blah blah. This was actually something I am not supposed to do as a customer, a consumer of the product, but I really did not want to spend any extra money I earned on fixing this printer. So I did the fix, indeed after the procedure the error was resolved, but another one popped up saying "P08". I did manage to do some tinkering myself and fix it(by simply power it off and back on), but I was so frustrated because the printer still won't print black. I was so exhausted at this moment, I tried everything I could possibly do, but just could not fix it. The last resort, according to another video on the internet, is using a syringe to manually pump the ink, which I am about to try. I do not care anymore if the printer will be broken by doing so, in the worst-case scenario I would just get all the ink out using that syringe and buy another printer. The reason it got me so frustrated is that whenever I try to print out some practice questions to attempt, the graph is there, everything else is there, but the question itself which is meant to be printed in black is not there. I guess I could try using some software tricks to print the colour black using a mix of CMY colours, but it is purely annoying. By writing this review I do not intend to upset nor to irritate anyone. I am just trying to give my honest point of view, so that you could consider twice before you purchase. Also, I am not saying that this printer is bad and you should not get it, there is a chance that it was just the two I owned were faulty. This is actually the first review I have ever written in my life so far, I apologise if I have annoyed you by any means. Anyways have a great day! (Guess what, before I am about to submit this review, I looked at my printer and it is having an error "P02") :\
Great printer so far. I bought this printer for the advantage of filling it up with bottled ink rather than expensive and short-lived inkject cartridges. Installation was relatively easy. The only confusing step is the connection to wifi. The documentation is not great because it does not include a simple connection to wifi. The only options in the documentation are to connect it to a PC or an Android device. I figured how to connect it to my home wifi as follows: long press the Network button on the printer, then the wifi symbol starts blinking. Go to your wifi router and press the WPS button, and voila. The printer becomes available on your home network. I was able to print from a linux laptop and a Windows laptop. Couldn't try it on Mac because I don't have any. ... MoreGreat printer so far. Though I am just printing documents, not photos.
It's an adequate printer and so far the print quality seems OK, but does not do duplex (known before purchase). The scanning application does not allow page reorganization or deletion before save which are VERY basic functions especially without a duplex scan option from the ADF. WiFi set up is a pain if you don't want to install ANOTHER basically useless app on your phone or PC and the manual is hard to use whether on-line or downloaded version.
The Canon Pixma G3610 promised so much and would be brilliant if the connectivity would just work. Please do not buy this it will work for a while and then just stop connecting. I purchased this a while ago from the Mornington branch (staff here ae so helpful) and connectivity issues just plague the machine. The wifi connects when it feels like it!!!! Got to the stage I thought I will reinstall it, however, now it just will not connect at all. So out of pure frustration I think USB it will have to work. So in goes the USB select that option during install and great install says something like “found printer wait while install completes”, after 5mins a message on screen cannot detect printer!!!! I tried to raise help on the canon support desk no call back, thanks Canon. I am at my wits’ end and just want this over, Officeworks I know you didn’t cause this and you have always been great what can we do?
