I spent a whole day trying to connect this useless printer to my wifi. I liked it for the price and the Best Buy worker said it would work great. After looking through these reviews and having my own experience I see that this is a horrible printer. This printer will not connect to my wifi despite trying all different ways to connect. After the first set up installer didn't work it made me install two other helpers that did the same thing. I kept getting the same code that meant there was not connection (clearly), but wouldn't tell me how to proceed. I tried hooking to up through my phone and every other way I could and nothing works. I have wasted hours and will be returning this ASAP.

Got this on sale during a black Friday sale in November 2021. Bought 2 of them as my daughter wants a printer for Christmas. Surprised to see that $79.99 (pre-tax price) is actually a reasonably good price for a printer nowadays. Haven't bought one in several years. Also have never bought a Canon printer before. We already have a Brother at home and wanted another one, but couldn't find a Brother inkjet at a reasonable price in stock. First impressions of this little printer was that the plastic on printers feels cheaper than ever and that it might break if not handled carefully. Not a good sign for us as we purchased this for our RV. Only time will tell on this. It prints fine, I have only printed on it 3 times so the jury's still out on this as well. But quality so far is okay. Bonus is there is only 1 cartridge for black and 1 cartridge for colour printing and the prices on buying extra cartridges seems reasonable. It has all the features we need, print, copy, scan. Even if we were to have to use this as our home primary printer, we no longer have a need to be able to use a fax feature as we no longer have a wired home phone. Also the size is fairly compact. When we are not using it, I can fold in the paper feeder tray and also the little tray at the front of the machine that catches sheets as they come out of the machine. All in all not too large. Didn't want to pay 5-10 times the price to get a 'compact' printer so this will do well. Features: I've tried printing from my phone using a canon air print app and it works fine. I've tried scanning from my mac and that works fine too. I've done printing and making a copy and those work fine as well. So in summary, it appears this little printer has all the necessary features and works well so far - having had it a week or so and have installed everything and tried out all the features.

Purchased the 1st printer before Christmas, it worked ok for about 3 weeks then wouldn't connect to the wifi. Returned it and got a second printer and have not been able to get it connected to the wifi. The website instructions don't help at all and are hard to understand. All our other wifi devices work fine. So here's the catch- I'll return it and get my money back but I'll still be out almost 100$ for the extra ink cartridges I purchased. Do not buy this item. I would give it a zero star rating if I could.

Good printer. Slightly difficult to setup on the network but definately AirPrint WiFi compatible. Unfortunately USB compatibility is currently not available on Linux for the Cannon TS3420. Only Mac & Windows have official drivers (Mar 11, 2022). The printer is relatively easy to setup to WiFi print from your phone. In a few steps you can connect it to your network (remember to do that right out of the box, or you'll have to re-add the printer from your phone). Scanner and copier works easily in colour & monochrome. The printer has support for a number of paper sizes that can be selected with the display: A4, A5, B5, Letter, Legal, 4x6, 4x8, 5x5, 5x7. If you need prints, this one is recommended and easy to pickup.
So far, my printer has performed admirably, but I would like to compliment Canon for the outstanding customer support I received. When I ordered the printer , I had just realized that my 5G internet, unless divided with 2.4G did not support most printers. I was surprised that what seemed like a simple process to have my new printer talk to my divided internet still refused to work. After spending more than an hour with an incredibly polite and patient Canon tech, he finally noticed that although my internet provider had split my internet, the 2.4 g portion had not been enabled on the provider's side. Thanks to my Canon support, my excruciating experience was now over. I’ve had this printer for about 6 months and it’s been amazing. Easy to set up, app on phone works great and simple to use. My sons have the app on their phone so can print school work from phone or wirelessly from their PC’s. Can scan CNN direct from printer to email. No fax function but for the price, you wouldn’t expect it! Ink that comes with the printer manages approx 50 pages but replacement ink it pretty cheap. The only downside is that it can be a little noisy when printing.
Hello all, 1. I have read a few reviews explaining that they have had troubles connecting the printer to their devices (computer/phone). However, downloading the drivers via http://ij.start.cannon is very simple; I had the printer working within a few minutes of taking it out of the box. The scanner can be accessed via the Cannon IJ Scan Utility. The phone application is just as easy to connect with. 2. The print quality is fair given the price. Blacks, as with most printers, are fine. However, I noticed that the print quality drops if you are printing multiple colored pages; this is more noticeable with high-detail or high-contrast photographs. For basic printing needs (documents, webpages, powerpoints, etc), it works fine. 3. I assumed this all-in-one printer ... MoreHello all, 1. For basic printing needs (documents, webpages, powerpoints, etc), it works fine. 3. I assumed this all-in-one printer allowed for multiple document scanning via the feeder. However, this is not the case. You can only scan one document at a time using the top tray. If you are regularly scanning documents onto your computer, I would look elsewhere. Further, scan and print times are rather slow. 4. The build quality is poor/fair; they opted to use plastic for as much as they could, including the hinges, etc. The top tray and other extending parts are extremely flimsy. 5. The function buttons and display are basic. However, I find the simplicity a positive. I would recommend this printer to anyone that has simple printing and scanning needs. However, as aforementioned, I would look elsewhere if you require multi-document scanning or higher volume printing. Nonetheless, for the price, this is reasonable. I only wish they stopped improving printer cartridge technology that stops you from refilling ink; it gets expensive. PL
Bought two of these on sale. One for me other for parents. I was able to connect my printer to my wifi with my phone easily. All devices connected were able to print after that with no additional set up. After seeing the reviews I assumed the people that were having trouble weren't following the instructions. Now setting up the other printer I was confused, only being able to proper set it up through my phone. Even though connected to wifi other devices weren't able to print off it. Scratched my head and Gave up. Currently if my parents need to print they have to connect to printers wifi and send it to print and then reconnect back to to service wifi to browse. Later I'll go back and try at it again. Their gateway modem is split with a 2.4 and 5 ssid. Not sure if ... MoreBought two of these on sale. One for me other for parents. I Had it connected to 2.4 with other devices trying to send on same band. Hopefully I get it to work properly or else I'd say there might be a quality service issue with these.
I bought this because I had too many problems with our Epson printer. I went in to O/W and spoke about my needs. We do not have wifi, so want to print from a laptop with a USB cable. Bought the printer and the cable. Ran the setup, it used the USB cable for setup, so clearly recognises it. That's it. So far, nothing. I have run setup, turned it on, put paper in, but no printing. I really can't believe how technology has become so difficult. You used to buy a printer, connect it and print. I am so disappointed, and have wasted so much time and still can't print. Officeworks, you need to do more to make sure you are selling products that work.
So I have had Canon printers a while now, my last just died after quite a few years. No problem, I have had it a while, it owes me nothing, get a new one. I grabbed this one, looked like the same kind, just newer, and yep, there is no way the wireless signal is going to work. I have done everything, and I am a techy person, heaven help someone who is not. Went down a million website instructions, don't know what the miracle is to make it work. On my way to return it now, and it looks like I will end up with an HP, I just need a cheap at home one, not something mega fancy, for occasional printing and I am not going up to double the price in the same brand, praying it will work.
