Needs to be compared to the Sony RX100. A tiny bit larger, and the lens not quite as good, especially at the edges at wide angle, and at close distances. But the focal length and aperture range is more useful than any of the RX100s, and it has specific features that I want. It's a really good little camera, though, on its own terms, and when I got it at a special price with a cashback offer it was an absolute no brainer. If you just want a 1" compact, I'd go for a Sony, if the price isn't a problem; but if this G7X is what you want for features, it's well worth buying.

I upgraded from the Mark II.Mark III sound quality is much better and love that it has a microphone port.However the focus is terrible!It constantly goes in and out of focus which is really frustrating.

A great product at an even better price
Amazing product for the price point and it’s intended use. Extremely useful for vlogging and uploading straight to social media with high quality images.
I got one of these and while it does have great features the focus searches randomly at times. While that's ok for still images it can ruin video footage. There has been no fix in firmware either last time I checked

I had been looking, for a while, to replace/upgrade my existing compact camera (Canon Powershot SX100 IS). E Global Central had the product that I wanted (Canon Powershot G7X MK III) at the best price - perfect !
The camera is perfect for those people who want a point and shoot device. It has reasonably good zoom, allowing you to frame the subject or get in a little closer. Image quality is good for this type of camera and most users will be very happy with its output. For those who want more control over their shots, the G7X Mark lll offers full access to ISO (be careful as noise is an issue) shutter speed and aperture controls are all easily accessible. This is the area I usually work in, I like to control depth of field etc and I was pleasantly surprised how well the camera responds to my input and how easy this was once I learned the controls. Overall a great point and shoot camera with good image quality and functionality.
The function is very powerful, and the only drawback is that the focus speed is slow.
this is my third olympus xz10 gave previous one to my daughter it came at the time the one inch sensor compacts came and did not have a chance compared to them but i really like it it takes great pictures and macro as well which the rx100 does not it has great stabilization - just took a portrait picture at dark for one second andit came out very good i took short movies in a concert and it was very good including the sound which came out surprisingly good so i really like this portable camera
