Gameplay Mechanics !Man, I love the combat system this game has. You can play as the characters [spoiler]4 characters if you buy the Vergil DLC [/spoiler] and each of these characters have their own unique set of skills, weapons, and powers. I'm not sure whether I should explain each character's loadouts….Eh whatever, I will cuz the more you know. 😉! Characters, Their Basic Loadouts & Everything Else Important !Nero, we all love Nero since he’s pretty powerful. He wields a super-strong revolver which is known as “Blue Rose”. If you hold the shoot button, Nero loads more bullets into one shot. Through upgrades, these powered shots can even be made to explode upon impact. This is just a super-strong ability. As a Melee weapon, he has a pretty cool sword known as the “Red Queen”. This is not like any other ordinary sword since you can actually “rev” the sword up to heat the blade. Yes, rev as in similar to revving up a motorbike. Vroom vroom! Since he loses one of his arms in one of the previous DMCs, he gets a prosthetic arm made by Nico. There are several variants to this arm & each variant has a special super ability that allows you to literally annihilate anything in your path since it’s super strong. On top of all these wonderful weapons, Nero gets a pretty powerful ability towards the end.V is the fresh playable protagonist. We don’t know what he actually is until we get close to the end. He is apparently too weak to fight so he uses 3 “Shadows” that he can summon anytime to fight for him. He can summon a black panther animal thing named Shadow that deals close range damage, a bird that can talk & used for ranged combat named Griffon, and a huge ass “thing” that can only be summoned for a short duration after your devil trigger meter is filled & this “Thing” is named Nightmare which can deal a shit tonne of damage to enemies. The only weapon V wields is a cane that he uses to finish off enemies as his shadows cannot actually kill enemies, they can only bring them close to death. It’s V’s job to finish them off! Playing as V is pretty fun since all you have to do is dodge & let your shadows do the heavy lifting. Yeah, the shadows have a health bar too but they regenerate pretty fast & even faster when you are near them.! Conclusion !I was quite hesitant to play any of the DMCs. I tried the first game but it was a bit too old for me. I watched a gameplay video on DMC 5 & was pretty intrigued to try it out & so I did. Did I regret it? No, absolutely not. Instead, I enjoyed each & every second I spent on it. I was pretty sad when the game ended as I wanted to play more. But all the best things have an end! You must grab the game during a sale since it goes on sale quite often. I also recommend getting it along with the Vergil DLC if you can!Rating: 9.5/10

Damn this games so buff. Hadn't played fir years but i think maybe to start in a harder level. With the vr mod on its insanely beautiful and dramatic and cinematic. The fighting like his of war hook n pull slash up and shoot down. Epic graphics ,sweet fluid fighting mellee galore. I aint played far as I wore my eyes out and had to pull myself away just to eat something . So if you want a super stylish slashaphon ,with try before you buy powerups in the astral plain off ur mate who you call from phone boxes . Damn its so crisp! Sorry but well hyped and stupid cheap to!

The phenomenal combat paired along with the excellent pacing makes the full package something you can't pry yourself from. The minute the game ended, I wanted nothing more to jump back in. I highly recommend you begin with the standard difficulty when first starting off rather than the "Human" difficulty. Don't be fooled, however, as the hardest difficulty you can pick right off the bat is only the second easiest difficulty. This game wants you to keep replaying the game. New systems, mechanics, weapons, and combos are sprinkled throughout the main campaign, demanding that you take advantage of the new skill. You literally receive a game-changing ability right at the end of the game, essentially telling you to replay the game again.If you want to test your might, the Bloody Palace game mode is a extremely fun mode that will constantly test how good you really think you are with a 99 stage gauntlet through all the enemies and bosses in the game--using only one life. You die, you start from ground zero.Capcom is killing it. No one could've predicted such a strong redemption arc with the company, but here we are with Devil May Cry 5 (and Resident Evil 2 remake). Do yourself a favor and dive into Devil May Cry 5. If you're new to the series, don't worry, there's a video included with the game that will go over most of the main plot points from the previous games. The game absolutely can be played stand-alone. And don't be surprised if you find yourself saying to yourself, "Pull my devil trigger." The game's soundtrack is an absolute beast. You'll see.

I reference Astral Chain for the Switch in how it found an amazing way of finding a middle ground when it came to preforming cool attacks and platforming.There is very little depth outside from a shop to buy skills and items. If you were hoping for something more robust with RPG elements and customizations, this could be a pass. It is just another bare-essential installment of DMC, but that is more than enough to win in my book.

Indeed, this may the main fault of DMC 5–it seems like by the time you get used to one character you're forced to play as another. With 3 characters to support, it likely won't be until subsequent play-throughs that you'll truly appreciate the variety of options here. As usual, you'll be buying upgrades for your attacks via red orbs that enemies drop...but you won't be able to afford all of them until you've finished the game a couple times.This is not an open-world action game. DMC 5 follows a linear mission structure that pushes you along, but it does allow for a minimal amount of exploration via the secret missions and short detours that lead to blue/purple orbs (you can backtrack through former missions to collect items you've missed via the main menu).With a respectable campaign that clocks in over 10 hours and the free Bloody Palace DLC, Devil May Cry 5 is a worthy entry to the series. It may have a steep learning curve for some, but it's a blast to play once you master the mechanics.

It's all basically mindless, button mashing. You see a cutscene, go through a demon-filled, post-apocalyptic environment hacking and slicing your way through any monster that comes your way then face a boss. If you defeat the boss, you move on to another cutscene and do it all over again. While the combat is fun, the fact that the battles just bleed into each other spoils it some because the game goes that much faster, and the story doesn't really pull you into it.Despite the cons, I enjoyed the game if for nothing else but the demon-smashing joyride and familiarity of the characters, combat style and gameplay mechanics. I LOVED that this DMC took us back to the original roots of the game instead of continuing the mess that Ninja Theory gave us with their ugly, vulgarized version of Dante. Keeping the language and sexuality to a minimum (for a game of this kind, I suppose) made the game that much more enjoyable. I DO hope, however, that should another DMC be released, it gives us more play time, and a more entertaining experience that makes us actually think a little to win instead of just mashing buttons to kill the enemy, speeding the game past. Today's games are much too expensive to be able to complete the whole thing in just a day or so, and at just 20 demon-slaying missions, it's very possible to do just that.

The funnest part in the game in my opinion is trying to get your combos up to SSS and keeping it there for as long as possible. The game also knows when to shut up and let the gameplay talk and I really respect that. The soundtrack is also amazing especially during battle, it really hypes you up, and not to mention whenever you finish a battle the music always somehow ends perfectly. Overall, this game is just fantastic. The gameplay, the art style, the soundtrack, the characters, the acting, just everything about it is just so good. For sure, one of the best games of the decade.

Make the devil cry.

There are also ray tracing modes and graphical fidelity modes, and even a ray tracing and performance combined mode so you can get a little of both. (Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales also just introduced RT Performance mode and it is awesome. I can’t wait to see how game developers really start to take advantage of all this new and powerful tech in a year or two after they get used to it.) The king of character action game returns. If you're a fan of the older games, you should do yourself a favor and pick the game up. The game is a return to form; it's the same Devil May Cry you always loved but modernized.By modernized, I'm talking more about the graphics and higher budget production value. The RE engine Capcom used for this game produce some amazing graphics (for the character models), while still keeping the gampelay at a silky 60 fps. My only issue is graphically speaking has more to the art design of the levels. They do feel a bit less varied and could have used a bit more color.Gameplay wise, the game still reigns supreme. Nero and Dante should feel familiar (though Nero's devil breakers are new), but V is completely unlike any other character with his use summoned familiars. Because of how weak he is without his demonic pets, you have to treat him as a range character as oppose to Dante and Nero who are better up close and personal.Storywise, there's a surprising good amount in DMC5. There's some fan service with some nostalgia if you're a fan of the series with some bosses and enemies reminiscent of earlier games. The game also answers some unanswered questions about the lore and character relations. Some, don't expect everything to be answered. It does end in a satisfying way and playing the game blind is best.Game can be finished in your standard 10-12 hours with twenty missions (some of are just bosses). I do wish some of the bosses have a bigger intro with dialogue in past games though. However, there's an increased incentive to play through the game again on higher difficulties for unlockables and buying more skills.If you're new to the series, DMC5 isn't a bad way to jump in despite being the fifth installment. There's a history of DMC video that you can watch in the game to recap what happened in earlier games (story was simple in early games so don't worry). Also compared to other games, I would say DMC5 is easier, but not as dumb easy as DMC2.
