Carhartt Duck Active Jacket Black L

Really happy with the jacket! Took awhile to get here but worth the wait as I live in Canada Vancouver island. I'm 210 pounds 5'11 in height and the tall large loose fit was a good choice for me. I'm usually a XL in most clothing but glad I went down a size. I read some of the reviews and a lot of people were saying to size down. Glad I did cause it's made a little bigger. Can definitely fit a hoodie underneath.Very good quality and durability by the looks of it. I've always wanted this jacket for years and finally got one. Couldn't be any happier with it. "Loose Fit" runs a size to big!

I've owned three of these jackets over the past decade, all were size large. So, I was due to get another one after 3+ years of wearing it all winter long. I went to our Farm store who carried a full line of Carhartt clothing and jackets, they didn't have any size large in this style of jacket. I ordered one online through their web site, it showed up in a couple of days. I put the jacket on, and it was huge compared to my other jackets. I saw on the label that it was "Loose Fit", so I went to the local farm store that I ordered it though and sure enough every single jacket in the store was "Loose Fit". I tried on a medium loose fit and it felt about like my older large. I think Carhartt has shifted their sizes, I'm not 100% sure why but I can take a guess. Best jacket ever for big men

Best jacket ever made in my opinion. It is big in order to allow for layering so if you want a tailored look size down. The thought that went into this jacket is amazing. The thinsulate insulated makes this jacket super light but really warm. The hood design and drawstrings are the best I’ve ever had. The sleeves with the storm cuffs are a welcomed design change both in appearance and functionality. I normally wear a 3xlt but had to get a 2x reg because they did not have moss color in a 3xlt. The 2x fits fine just a little shorter than I would prefer. The elastic is just at the bottom of my gut so my gut doesn’t hang out but the bottom of the jacket does not keep out wind because of this. I still have room for a sweatshirt and a 2xlt would have soled the jacket ... MoreBest jacket ever made in my opinion. The miss color is stylish and unique. I bought my first one in October and it’s been great from 50 degrees down to 20 or so with just a sweatshirt.

Carhart 104050 Jacket with hood

I purchased a Small in a feed store. The sleeves are way too long at 35-36 inches for a small. All my other Carharts had sleeves of 32 or 33 inches for either small or medium; but this one the sleeves hang at my thumbs. They would be in the way of my work which includes brazing in confined areas and mechanical repairs which can include engines, linkages, and motor drives; and would surely impede the wearing of work gloves. I really liked the jacket as it had all the quality and features I needed, especially for outdoor repairs. It also had a great fit in the chest and length with room for layering. But somewhere the sleeve length selected was not the usual length found commensurate with the jacket size. The jacket was returned

Carhartt Love

Love the color (green), love the feel. I hope it is water resistant and I will test for warmth when we get our next snow. This is much lighter than my other Carhartt that I've had for years. Right now I'm a happy camper. I'm female and I always purchase men's because I like the extra room - not fitted. The sleeves are long enough for me to tuck in my hands like a turtle head and it fits below my hips if I need it to. Just my preference as Carhartt in men's makes the perfect hiking/chore coat for me. I can't attest for quality and durability with this coat, but with my other Carhartt it's a 5 star rating. The only reason I got a new one is because I've lost weight, the sale was good, and I decided to size down. Could be warmer and hoodless too

This is/was to replace an older Carhartt jacket which I just love but which was finally wearing out.I am somewhat disappointed with the new purchase because although it is rated as "Warmest Rating" is doesn't seem to be as warm as my older Carhartt that this new coat is to replace. And where I live it gets cold, so I was expecting a warmer coat. Suggest you not say this coat is warmest, but just warm, and that you sell a warmer coat.Also I didn't want the hood, but seems like you don't make a hoodless jacket like this anymore, so I'll put up with the hood for now. Firstly, hats off to the Carhartt Company for the commitment to producing their world-renowned clothing. Consumers know, especially the working men & women where to turn when the time comes to make a purchase. As well, military veterans, like myself, are not forgotten with generous discounts through the ID.me program. Today, I tried out my new Jac to take out the recycling and didn't feel a hint of cold or dampness. These are things we all come to expect form Carhartt. There isn't one thing I dislike about the Jac, only positives. For me and my son, a carpenter, the Jac is the status quo among working people. Keep up the good work Carhartt!

Great jacket that feels like home.

I purchased the "LOOSE FIT WASHED DUCK INSULATED ACTIVE JAC" in dark brown two weeks ago. I needed a jacket that I could work in, but also looked nice wearing it while running errands etc. It's simply a great jacket that can be worn as a coat. As long as it stays in the 20's or above it will keep you warm enough. At first I was concerned about ordering something online due to not knowing what size. I actually went over to a local Carhartt dealer and tried on their stuff and then ordered it more cheaply using this site. It's important to remember to order the regular size, not the tall unless you are 7 feet tall. Also order one size smaller that what you normally wear. Quilted hoodie, heavy twill, extra roomy.

Love this hooded jacket. Quilted lining is easy on easy off. I wear a Carhartt hoodie underneath this when it really gets cold and where I live in the south, cold in the a.m. and too warm in the afternoon for both so I take this off and just wear the hoodie with a long sleeve tee under that. Wish they would go back to the tight woven "duck" smooth canvas material that all their gear used to be made out of. This is more like heavy twill with a more open weave. This jacket has much more room in it than the same size Detroit jacket that I had to send back. I dont have the figure for the athletic cut of that garment anymore. Now that this comes in various colors, may have to order the green one as well.

This jacket is good but could have been great, oh well

The jacket is warm and feels well-made and reassuringly heavy, like a weighted blanket. The look is blue-collar stylish. The drawbacks: the outside pockets are surprisingly shallow, and I don't trust them to hold my phone, or anything else that I'd mind losing. The inside chest pocket is barely big enough to accommodate my slimline wallet, and the zipper closure is balky and hard to get at. I did buy the jacket mainly for warmth, not for storage--but, even so, the pocket shortfall seems as if it could have been avoidable, and it's a bit annoying. The only other drawback is that the sleeves seem a bit long (I'd originally ordered a Medium/tall but exchanged it for a regular Medium, as the sleeves in the tall were extremely long, suitable for an orangutan).
