I'm not a tradesman and don't need t-shirts for work-but I still want an every-day casual t-shirt that fits. With other brands, I have to size up to 3xl or 4xl and wonder if one trip through the washer will make them unwearable. Usually, the result is a toss in the trash. With Carhartt, I don't have to wonder any more. Based on the fitting chart, I bought my usual 2xl and they fit-loose enough to be comfortable yet still tight enough to look good. I have washed them a dozen times and they still fit like brand new. The neckband doesn't strangle me or stretch out, the tail is long enough that it doesn't expose my belly or backside, the sleeves come all the way down to my elbow and give me room to move, and the hems are wide enough that they don't roll up like most ... MoreI'm not a tradesman and don't need t-shirts for work-but I still want an every-day casual t-shirt that fits. There are two things that I look for in a T-shirt. First, how well does it hold up after being washed? Second, how sturdy is it? Most T-shirts tend to have the sleeves and bottom roll up after washing. Very irritating. Second, many of the cheaper t-shirts tend to be quite thin. These Carhartt K87-loose fit T-shirts crush both of these criteria. The never roll up at the sleeves of bottom after washing and they feel heavy duty. Highly recommend this product.

Inconsistent sizing
20 September 2024

I have only bought Cathay shirts for years. I don't like tight clothes. I have always seen in t-shirts a change in fit from going color to color. I don't know they use different cloth for different dyes or what. My last order of four loose fit shirts: red, brown, and I think heather blue, found that the brown and red were very tight or smaller fit that the blue. I have not called to discuss this yet as I just received them. It's very frustrating because if I go up a size the shirt is too long. Just beware of inconsistent sizing due to colors.

I wear Carhartt heavyweight t-shirts every day for work and everything else I do. I have about 30 or so of them at a time and the original ones I bought, probably 25 years ago, all fit exactly the same and were very comfortable. I usually order about 10 at a time and the last 2 times I got the shirts, a lot of them fit differently. All being the same size and all being 100% cotton, some were baggier than others, the material felt different from one shirt to another, and the collars were bigger and lost their shape and stretched out to easily. Like a lot of American companies that start out great and win the loyalty of its customers, with great quality the way I believe Carhartt has, I would hate to see them go the way of a lot of American companies that only look at ... MoreI wear Carhartt heavyweight t-shirts every day for work and everything else I do. I really don't think I'll ever switch to another company, however, I hope my next order is a little more consistent. Please pay attention to what you've always done best, Quality clothing for the worker. Thank you. Enjoy your day.

No Longer The Greatest Quality
22 September 2024

I bought these pocket Ts for a certain unavoidable reason. Since Carhart replaced the original heavyweight fabric to the stretchy, cheap fabric it now uses, and also changed suppliers to cheaper sources like Pakistan from Honduras, except for this special one time purpose, I no longer buy Carhart Pocket Ts. They don't perform anywhere near the originals. Place anything in the pocket like a cellphone it drags the stretchy fabric down and the collar with it. Carhart let its penny-pinching, bottom line accountants make money decisions instead of providing best value and performance to the customer.

Not anything close to what it was before the change
21 May 2024

Carhartt has caved with a reduced quality shirt and an ultra-confusing sizing system. I did like and purchase many of the K-87, REGULAR fit shirts. For some unknown reason they no longer make the Regular fit and switched to lose and relaxed fit. I have called customer service many times to find out which size is most comparable to Regular fit. At first, I couldn't get an answer, they were unsure. Later on, I tried again and received conflicting answers each time I called. I did purchase the lose fit which fit nothing like the regular. The material feels thinner, and the neck area is a lot bigger than the regular fit. Shirt looks sloppy and is now uncomfortable.

Saggy & baggy fit
17 September 2024

The K87 Carhartt shirts have changed materials & fit. These are made for short heavyset guys with huge necks. By the end of the day of wearing these shirts, the shirt is sagging on me, & the neck hole is so stretched out it almost hangs off my shoulder. I downsized to a size medium, but the neck holes are also huge. I still have a few of the old school K87s that in comparison are exceptional & worth paying the price of a Carhartt. I've been wearing K87s for years, but I'm currently looking for a replacement. Change is sometimes good, but not in this case. Does anyone remember New Coke?

Just received mine after waiting 9 days which was a disaster trying to find the updated location after they were shipped. UPS and sender was the reason. I don't believe they are 6.75 heavyweight t-shirts. I've been purchasing Carhartt shirts, long sleeve and short for the last 8 years and I've seen the quality of the thickness less and what it used to be. I'd rather see the price go up in the quality stay the same I'm sure many people would agree with that. I just purchased two long sleeve heavyweight shirts from tractor supply, I didn't want to deal with shipping again. I believe they're also a lighter weight than they used to be. So pardon me for being honest. I paid $19.99 for the short sleeve shirts. So I think that's it for Carhartt and me.

Used to be great but now cheap and thin
16 March 2023

The new "heavy weight" tshirts are now over 2 oz lighter. The reason I know this is because I've been buying these shirts for 8 years and now they are ruined. I bought 2 new shirts and noticed they felt quite a bit thinner so I returned them and then went to another store because I thought I was losing my mind. So I bought 2 more and these also felt thinner so I actually weighed them. My older Carhartt shirts weigh around 14.5 oz after several washes. These new shirts weigh 12.3 oz and what a huge difference. They now feel cheaply made and quite frankly I'm disgusted by this. I can't believe you guys made these shirts 2-3 ounces lighter just to save a few bucks. The reason these sell so well is because they are thick, I'm a big guy I like thick shirts.
