second time that carhartt ship my thing to void. The first time is good, they resend my order couple of day after the package disappear. I did not know what to say, I buy the coat because I trust ups and carhartt, but they just accidentally makes me feel bad. When I bought this jacket, I also bought some pants; they arrived though. I did not know is there too much thieves or just ups or carhartt did not want me feel good about using their official website to bought closes. I have spent about 1000 dollars total on carhartt and carhartt wip, I love the design and texture.

An improvement than recent Detroit iterations. Only complaint is how more of a slimmer fit the jacket is with longer sleeve length. I wear a small and the sleeves have to be rolled up for me to use my hands. Glad they put the original wrist snap closures and removed back tail. My Detroit j001 fits better and I wear a size medium in that model. Overall, very reminiscent of older Detroit jackets, slimmer, with longer sleeves, and less blanket padding.

Suitable for South Texas just about year round. It is a great jacket for cool mornings or evenings, with room to layer if needed.Fits and wears like a denim jacket, without the drop tail hem of the current Blanket Detroit model and added adjustment snaps. (In fact it is so nice that my girlfriend has co-opted it as her work jacket now)My few complaints is the lack of back / shoulder gussets, and that how the sleeves are unlined but the body is. With how thin the lining is, you could do without, but I understand it is there for the internal pockets.

I bought this bec. I was curious. I also owned the current detroit jacket model. If you're undecided between the two the current detroit jacket is a bit thicker. It's more bulkier. The re-imagined is thinner like a trucker jacket. This is more for everyday jacket. For going out. It is slimmer fit. Overall body length is short with long sleeves. I had to adjust the cuffs since it's a bit big too. The detroit jacket no need to adjust cuff.If you're a big guy or have a stomach get the current detroit jacket. If you are slim, get the re-imagined version. For the price and design, personally I prefer the current detroit jacket over this.
This jacket is great. The quality isn't as good as the old J97 jackets in my opinion as the lining of the jacket feels a little less durable, Especially where the Velcro is on the right inside pocket. It almost feels as if I am going to rip the liner while pulling the Velcro apart but that may just be as it is fresh Velcro. Overall the jacket is good quality and the fit is great. (For reference I am 6'4 and roughly 180lbs and I ordered a Medium Tall) I usually struggle to find jackets with proper sleeve length but if you are a taller guy with long arms, the tall sizes work perfectly.
Very happy with this jacket for casual wear. Construction seems solid enough and appropriately detailed for this price point. The stretch to the fabric is not overly apparent but definitely makes the jacket more comfortable. Not sure how robust it would be for actual full-on work wear, but the fit - especially how it retains the more traditional Detroit jacket cuffs and hem - and the slightly lighter weight/flexible fabric, make it great for everyday casual wear. Overall, a great little jacket!
This is an excellent jacket for days and nights when you don't need something heavy. I love the feel and weight; the fabric feels like a good old, well-worn jacket. I normally wear 2XL, but I dropped a size as I felt it ran too large. The fit is right; it hangs not too low below the waist and is long in the arms. I'm glad I bought it in two colors! They are two of my favorite jackets!
The Detroit jacket seems to go through revisions every so often. This version loses the drop tail and returns the buttoned tabs on the back part of the waist as well as the original style buttons on the cuffs. However , they are smaller in design and the jacket itself is nowhere as heavy as either the J97 or the drop tail version still currently available. The body length is a bit longer than the J97 and nowhere as boxy, and as already stated, no drop tail. It is nearly just a lined heavy weight shirt/jacket sharing the Detroit namesake. It also does not have the gussets in the back/shoulders if that is of concern. I will keep this as I did like it overall for fit and appearance. Yes, a "fashion piece" moreover than a work jacket as supposedly intended. Don't expect ... MoreThe Detroit jacket seems to go through revisions every so often. Still a nice item though.
I have four carpenters here. We have purchased the Carhartt Detroit jacket for years up until recent style changes. Tried out this newest version. Glad to see it doesn't have a dropped tail and the waist snaps are back. But it is missing the shoulder gussets for increased movement. It is not as heavy as the original J97 version and the sleeves are tighter so you can't layer it with a hooded sweatshirt as my guys do when the weather is colder here in the north. Also, the color selections are not feasible for a real work jacket. Hopefully they will "reverse-engineer" us the old Detroit jackets (hint: they are selling on ebay for $250 and are practically in shreds).
I Love the New Updated versión of an old Carhartt American Classic! Bigger metal buttons and a slightly offset logo in the middle of the chest pocket this time, but same Great Fit Quality Feel! Corduroy Collar is firm and shaped well. One inside pocket on the left side if your right handed is fine, but two would have been better on each side? This is One that Will Age and Break in Nicely! Don't hesitate and Buy One!Highly Recommend!
