This are without a doubt a work horse. This are perfect for the summer months. I work in oil and gas. (Industrial electrician). This are my go tos for 12 hour shifts and many long days. The triple stich and the durable yet lightweight canvas make it perfect for the hot summer months. My one drawback with this pair of pants and many of other carhartt pants is the waste band I have to size up because there's no stretch. Thighs, legs, everything okay but there's no stretch in the gut. I like many other blue collar Americans have a gut. Weather it's from beer, fast food. Or grocery food. If u make the waste band more stretchy. Like the fr advanced wrangler comfort jeans. This will definitely hit the nail on the head. I hope someone in carhartt HQ will listen.Sincerely ... I've worn these pants cutting wood, got them covered in black dirt gardening, and mostly as a casual pants in an office setting. I don't like khakis but these look just dress enough for me wear to work at my day job in dress casual setting. So I've worn these for a number of years, and I don't have to be afraid of having to change my pants when I come home and do something dirty in them. Outside of grease (Which with dish-soap pre-treat and couple washes, still not bad even then.), I've never really had them stain on me. The shrunken pair is my fault I put it in on a hi-heat load with heavy sweat shirts had forgotten they were in there, but still wear em they are just a bit tight. Only major con really is the fading. The dark colors seem to fade fast, light colors of course not as much.

I was going back and forth between these pants and the very similarly styled 102291 work pants. They offer the same fit with a few cosmetic differences. The main differences I see are the amount of pockets and pocket styles. The 102291 pants have one more front slash pocket above the main pocket. Additionally, the cuffs and belt loops on the 102291 are a little thicker. None of the above really matters to me, however the style of the rear pockets on the 102517 pants won me over. You really can't go wrong with either style, but my preference is for the102517 work pants.

I have been absolutely in love with these pants for the last 4 years. They were some of the most comfortable and best fitting pants I have owned. I have had 9 pairs over the years. I wore through the 6th pair and ordered 3 new pairs. The new ones are terrible! The canvas is nearly half the thickness that it used to be, they feel flimsy, and they are baggy which they used to be well fitted. I have triple checked and they are the exact same model numbers.I have nearly ordered the car seat covers but I have seen very similar reviews where the canvas is paper-thin and not what Carhartt used to be.At this point Duluth is the way to go, they don't fit me as well as the Carhartts used to but the built quality is what I used to expect from Carhartt.I'm highly ... The pants are comfortable but the sizing and fabric used to make the pants are very inconsistent. I purchased 2 pairs of exactly the same product and size and 1 fit fine and the other I could barely button the pants. Also, the material used were different. I returned the 1 pair with no issues and ordered 2 more to get free shipping and although the material was the same the sizing was again significantly different except 1 pair fit and the other was too big so I washed them in hot water and dried hot to shrink them. They are still too big but going to deal with them. Just beware the consistency of the products is all over the board. Maybe because they are made in several different countries around the world.
Always ordered Carhartt pants off of Amazon, decided to order them off Carhartt's website this time. Pants arrived missing 2 belt loops on the back side and now have only 5 belt loops instead of the standard 7 loops. Now they have this awkward loop positioning making the end of my belt hang off the pants and don't feel as secure as before. I don't understand why they came like this whether or not it was a machine error or they now starting making these pants like these (The pants they show in the website still have 7 belt loops) which is horrible designing for work pants. Other than that the pants still have the same great quality material and stretch but the belt loop error is a MAJOR downside to the pants. Disappointed
My first impression is favorable. The pants fit as well as Carhartt pants fit me. For some reason, the waists of Carharrt pants become more loose fitting throughout the day for me but an inch smaller waist is too tight. It would be helpful if Carharrt installed an inside tab buttonhole and button to keep their pants from sliding down my hips. I'm pleased these pants are available in a 33-inch waist because 34" is impossible. The fabric seems as though it will be durable but it's too early to tell. I prefer the flex of these pants to the traditional Carharrt work pants but I expect these pants will not be as durable as traditional Carharrt work pants. I haven't laundered them yet.
Carhartt "canvas" is no better than the cheap $25 work pants at Wal-Mart. Honestly, the cheap Wal-Mart jeans held up longer than these Carhartt canvas jeans. Really sad to see a great company switch to cheaper materials, cheap quality and leave workmanship behind just to make a few extra bucks. For $70 I expected a whole lot more than the ripping at the seams pants I got.Years ago Carhartt was a name people could count on. Years ago Carhartt made quality work clothes that were just as tough as the people wearing them. Not only did their canvas pants and coats withstand every kind of wear but they also lasted for years. Not any more...
They are great, except for some reason they run almost 2 inches longer than every pair that I have in the same style. All are the same "relaxed" fit and size yet the few new pairs I recently ordered with the same inseam sizing I had to return exchange for the next shortest inseam.Since I've worn the same Carhartt sizes for years and needed to replace a few worn out pants, I ordered around a dozen pairs of pants because I was unsure of what "fit" suits me best. It never crossed my mind that Carhartt's new fit options of slim, regular, and loose would have any impact on waist or inseam sizing. Since I don't live very close to a Carhartt store, it took me a while to make it in to try on the different fit styles. Luckily, I found out they still make a pant size that ... I don't know how they've made these pants so soft and comfortable yet so durable. Most comfortable pants I own. I stomp through briars and thickets regularly, no tears or rips. I work in the water treatment industry and handle 12.5% sodium hypochlorite daily. This is bleach, about twice as potent as Clorox and slightly stronger than pool shock. I have four pairs of carhartt canvas pants that I've been wearing for about a year, and no bleach spots on any of them even though they've all been splashed several times. I just hose them off while the bleach is still wet. Regular denim jeans literally melt under such abuse. The pair I'm wearing right now have a light grease stain from wiping some off my hand, and a tiny tear near the left ankle from a Husqvarna 455 rancher. ... That's it, after about a year's worth of heavy use. And they're my most buttered pair. I balked at the price a little when I first got them because I normally buy work clothes at thrift stores. Who wants a $50 pair of pants you're just gonna trash when you can trash a pair that only cost $5, right? Work jeans usually last a month for me. Well, I've yet to damage these enough to need to retire them, and I don't see it happening any time soon.
